My hubby told me last night we need to have as much sex as possible due to the fact that when I have plastic surgery he will not be having sex with me ever again. He feels I will be fake & unnatural & I should stay how my body is now & I hate how my body is now. Do you have a spouse that had some fixing done? Do you see her differently? Do the sex feel different? Do you avoid sex? I'm having plastic surgery with out his approval or consent. I'm 34 I'm not a child. I have 3 kids not having more & I lost all the weight & I'm unhappy with saggy in my body. Thanks

Hi everyone, I am 21 years old, 5'10'' and 340 lbs. My bmi is basically 50 (49.7) I have 3 more weigh-ins for the insurance. My surgery should be around October. I want to see 180-190, am I being unrealistic? Also, I am still battling the bypass verses the sleeve, would you all mind sharing what made you choose RNY?

Just wondering if your friends think you are a sissy because you got a lap band. I'm finding some friends of mine think I'm wasting my time going to the gym and eating anything but cheeseburgers, hot wings and drinking beer. I have a hunting buddy who insist on trying to feed me things I can't eat. I can eat dried deer steak and biscuits and gravy anymore. He laughs and tells me to MAN UP. I've explained many times I just physically cannot eat that stuff anymore. I pack my own food for the hunting trips but he just ignores me.

Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself. I love forums so I plan on being pretty active in this one. My name is Justin and I live in Fort Worth, TX. My wife and I will be doing this together. Her surgery is scheduled for 8/13/13 and mine is 9/10/13. She is currently on the one-week liquid diet so I'm doing it with her for support. It's actually going pretty well so far. We practiced off and on for a couple weeks ahead of time so we could get a handle on how we would react. I'm looking forward to this journey so I can enjoy the things I no longer have the energy to do. In fact, I'm thinking about putting my "can" list in this thread as a reminder to myself why I am g…

Hello guys. I am a 38 year old gay male living in Dallas Texas. I was banded on may 10,2013. At surgery my weight was 435lbs. As of this morning (August 5) I am 59.8 lbs down and counting. Feeling great, but have a long way to go to hit my goals.

So I just found this app it's great!! Hello to everyone I n set for surgery on 5/28/13. That's this Tuesday coming up. I'm excited and a little scared at the same time but definitely ready to get the journey started. I'll keep ya posted

Has anyone suffered increasing ED issues since banding? My sex drive wasn't great but I'm experiencing ED issues and off to the Doctors next week. Just wanted to know if there is a known link to ED and banding?

I'm interested in putting together a men's group to meet at least monthly. Nutritional support and just basic guy talk. The local coed groups are fine but I'm seeing and reading more and more guy sleeves who just need that " Band of Brothers" environment. Looking for a place for us to be honest and transparent, but intentional in our struggles as well as victories. I live in the Frisco area but am willing to travel (within reason). I am willing to bet we could get a NUT to join us as well. My preference is during the week after work. Weekends are difficult due to family time. Thoughts?

I consider my surgery to be a great success. I gained over two hundred pounds after I retired from the military in 1994, and no amount of diet and exercise was going to get me back down to a healthy weight, so on June 7th I had sleeve surgery. Long story a little shorter, I lost weight too fast and had one of those weeks at work were I was in too many meetings and didn't keep up with my hydration. I ended up unable to stand or walk and had to be hospitalized for three days due to acute polyarticular gout. The sleeve is a wonderful tool for us to loose weight, but always remember you need to be sure to manage it and everything that goes with it properly.

My daughter was spinning with her plastic doll. She came up to me right after and said I sowwy dada. All is forgiven, but I think she knocked my band up into my esophagus...lol!

This is pretty sweet. After the Seminar (in which I was the only guy), first consult with the surgeon, getting my PCP approval, Psychological eval, Pulmonologist eval and Nutrition course and sweating it out for about a week and 3 days I got the phone call this morning that I was approved for surgery. Stuff just got real. I go in for my upper GI on August 9th and I should have a surgery date shortly afterwards. I kind of enjoyed this process, even if it was a bit laboring. Boy they make you jump through some hoops but I think others have it much worse and I consider myself very lucky to not have to appeal an insurance decision. What are your stories about this p…

Why can I not find something that is designed like a rumble roller!! http://www.rumbleroller.com/ It would be perfect! The perfect amount of stimulation. So far my experience with "ultra ribbed" condoms has been, well, not so ribbed. After losing 180 lbs, I could use these to help me with the ecstasy factor in the bedroom. Men, I do have to tell you that losing the gut stomach and getting into "fit shape" has been a whole different experience, one that lasts and lasts and lasts. Ok, I better stop because I know the women are reading this post as well.

I'm just over five weeks out from getting sleeved. Current still on the pureed stage, also working out 6 days a week. I my progress is 47 lbs so far.. Before surgery I suffered from ed, mostly managed with me day, but not totally. I one of the big reasons I choose to have the sleeve. But seems like things have gotten worse not better. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this since the operation?

I start pre-op liquid diet today. This really puts it all into perspective for me. I've made the choice to make a major life change in two weeks, and I know things will never be the same. It's so exciting, yet it's very intimidating. I'm nervous about the surgery, I'm nervous about the changes to the way I approach food (and drink), but I can't wait to get back to the activities of old (being able to really workout; getting back into running; getting back into hiking; fitting into my waders to go fly fishing, etc.). Something tells me this is going to be an emotional rolling-coaster (uh oh, I used the e word; can I even say that word in the forum). I had someone …

My wife has already done the surgury ad i cant wait to do it as well, it is going to be nice to sleep with her in the same bed again after 11 years of me ( "so she says') snoaring. So im pretty sure im emotionally set for whats coming up next, looking at it like its a new beginning, After awhile ill be able to sleep comfortably, my knees wont hurt as much from the stain of the excess weight, No more blood pressure pills, it should be good. Im very interested in the other men out there talking about their energy levels and how they keep it up with weight training. i

Just curious... I've been as high as 365, and the band is finally kicking in and working. My weight is coming off--down to 333 now. I've been as low as 290 in the past just by dieting and exercise, but I am hoping the band will allow me to keep the weight off that I am now losing. My goal is to get to 250 or 240. Have any of the guys on here had problems with sagging skin after losing a similar amount? And, how did you deal with it??

I was diagnosed in Feb. 2009 with prostate cancer, 13 biopsy grabs, all came back positive. I was put on Lupron, the testosterone killer, and subjected to 49 external beam radiation treatments, steroids, and chemo through the rest of the year. The tests did not indicate any spreading and my psa went down to 0.0001. I gain 60 pounds during that short time due to Lupron and steroids, my eating did not change, went down if anything. My psa has slowly risen through the years, now at 0.4, quite under the normal.. My chemo doctor says the rise is normal due to the prostate healing itself after the radiation. My urologist, whom I affectionately call "Dr. Doom", is betting on t…

My husband is having an affair. He had surgery a year ago. After he lost weight he met up with someone. Is there anything I can do? We have two children and I want to save our marriage. By the way, I had surgery 2 months ago and am working to get myself together.

Well, I set my surgery dated for August 5th of this year, and I'm pumped up. However, for the past two weeks (since my first doctor's visit... insurance doesn't cover, so I'm going private pay route), I have gone on an eating rampage. I have eaten absolutely terrible. Given the choice between bad and worse, I've chosen worse every time. I think I was trying to get that one last "high" from all my cravings. I can't go on like that for the next two months, or I'll gain another two pants sizes. Has anyone else gone throught this? I decided earlier this week, it was time to put an end to the madness. I ordered some pre-made Protein supplements and some protein powed…

I'm morbidly obese and have 120 lbs. to lose. Though many of the women I know are extremely yummy, I don't have access to their magic bits because I get relegated to 'friend' status. Have any of you guys found that you get intimate access to your hot female friends once you lose your excess weight or do they ever become able to see you that way?

Hi Guys, I'm super perturbed right now and wondering if I'm overreacting and I don't have anywhere else where I can target and question a group of people, specifically men, so maybe you can help me out. My husband is driving me nuts. My pre-op diet starts tomorrow so for dinner, I picked a restaurant that has cream cheese wontons -- yum! My husband complained the WHOLE time. Literally from the second we drove up (and he saw a couple walking in -- he hoped the restaurant was closed for Easter), to when we were walking back to the car and he complained that he felt sick. Then we went to WalMart because I wanted to look at a Magic Bullet. Again, he complained the WHOLE…

Hi, fellas. I'm new around here but am about to hard all my paperwork sent off to Cigna to get approved and looking at early August for my procedure. I have to admit that I've been trolling for a little while getting info and realized I should just join the dang site already! Probably the biggest thing I'm worried about is what I'm going to do to socialize after the sleeve. It seems like now all my socializing with friends and coworkers is either over a meal or over drinks. I've read that going out to eat is almost more a nuisance than anything else and we are supposed to try to avoid alcohol for 12 months. What do you fellas do? I feel like girls have it easier beca…

For all you dads out there. And for anyone who is struggling either with life or with the whole weightloss deal. A good friend sent me this a while back. He's somebody I truly respect and admire. Its about 6 minutes, but it gives you some really good food for thought. I watch it often when the wolves are at the door. Hopefully you will see the message... Keep fighting the good fight gents, no matter the battle....It ain't how hard you hit.....

Hello guys. No intent on being stereotypical.....but hey, most men love a cold beer. Problem is...good old American lager is way on the fizzy side and bloats our new stomachs. I know some people with a sleeve can drink lager beer or soda pop just fine post-op...but I cannot. It painfully bloats me and I have to drink ridiculously slow/small sips of beer or soda. I've never been a huge soda pop fan anyway....but I do enjoy an occasional beer. So, I've discovered the joy of English Ales/Stouts when I was on vacation in London last month. "Cream" style some call it. The bonus....no fizz...very little to no carbonation=no bloat. A few I can recommend we can buy here…

Hey what's goin on guys? It's been forever since I've been on these forums, but last week marked the 1 year anniversary of my operation. I'm HAPPY to say I'm down 130lbs, and I feel completely normal. Everyone's saying how healthy I look hahaha. It's pretty awesome being able to go up stairs without wheezing after one flight. Anyway, update pic! I think I overdid it on the cardio. Need to tone up now lol!

Well, we had our second child today. A beautiful baby girl; 7 lbs. 6 oz. (at 37 weeks); 19.5 inches long. Mom is doing great, baby is doing great, big brother doesn't know quite what to think (he's 2 and 1/2). Words can't describe how excited I am!

I've done a ton of research all over the net and here, but I'm getting cold feet at the moment. I've read of lots of people that are happy they did the band, have lost a lot of weight, happy now, etc. I understand that its just a tool, and it will take work, lifestyle change, exercise, etc. I'm 48, 330, 6'1, and am determined to finally do something about my weight. In my 30's, I went from 283 down to 211, but have slowly put all that back on plus more over the last 20 years. For as many 'happy' band stories that I read about, I see as many or more disasters: slime, dumping (whatever that is), a lot of pain, slipping, having to get the band removed, etc. Almost all of t…

I am the proud owner of a few scars from surgeries, so I thought I knew the secret about body hair and wound dressings before this surgery.......I was wrong. I hated the feeling of removing bandages with hair beneath. It hurt more than the surgery. Let's just say I have a few hairs on my chest and stomach.....ok, more than a few. Actually, when I walk by the monkey cage at the zoo, the monkeys all go crazy, wondering how one of their own escaped. But I digress....... In past surgeries, i had tried to shave the areas the docs were going to carve up. no matter how much i shaved, the docs always managed to reach the air on my body. I had the grand idea of shaving …

Has any one had issues with acute urination pain or a feeling of ongoing constipation in the front? How about having to get up 5-7 x at night to use the bathroom. I do make an effort to dry out before going to bed, but 5-7 x?? To me these sound like worse case prostate cancer and best case UTI when looking up symptoms online, but I am only 36. I have never experienced either of these before. The symptoms have gotten worse in the last few months. The pain during urination does not happen every time, but when it does, it can be felt in the tract and radiating up towards the bladder. Sorry if TMI. Trying to be as informative as possible to trigger a recognition from someo…

Diaries of a man W-H-O-R-E So I have lost a huge amount of weight and I just started to get back into the dating scene and I have been more than successful. I had a relationship that lasted about 5 months and then that ended mutually. Since then I have been dating a lot. Right now im dating with no intention on moving forward with anybody, I guess I like the freedom. Right now I would say that I just want to have some fun. Right now I am dating 4 women at the same time and its getting harder everyday. I am honest with them all and they know that I am dating other women at the same time. Each person intrigues me in a different way. I know that at some point that this is …

A lot of us men are over 35 and it no longer works for us to do long cardio or eat like a bird to get that Athletic build of a 25 year old. Long cardio just does not work and actually may increase the dreaded fat layer over the abs due to stressing the body from caloric deficits. I have been looking around for exercises that are really good for us as our t levels naturally are decreasing. My diet is fine as is the supplementation I am on. Every time I run an hour and burn 1000+ calories, it seems like I lose some lean muscle that I worked hard to gain previously from lifting. It makes me think that cardio is much better for the WLS weight loss phase ( leaning out the f…

I thought it would be interesting to know the types of foods that give others problems. For me personally I can not eat any type of sandwich, the odd part is I can eat bread just fine but put something between it and it doesn't go down. Other foods that my doc said may cause problems I can eat without issue. I also find the order that I eat my food plays a part in digestion. If I eat my protein first I don't seem to have problems but if I start with something else and go back to the meat it doesn't go down as well.

My surgery date is July 3rd! No watermelon and vodka for me this year lol... This is going to be a long month! Got all my paperwork together, and menu planned, but I feel like I can't truly prepare. I can only deal with it as it happens. And I couldn't be more excited! This wait is worse than Christmas!!!
