Hello All!! I am starting my 2 week pre-op diet and trying to find what powders work best and taste best. I've tried a whole bunch of samples like the nectar drinks, but i think i'm going to stick with the basics like chocolate and vanilla. Do the flavorless powders work well? Please help... This is starting to get a bit nerve racking

Since I been feeling sexy I started buying lingerie weekly so I try to have something different & see what my husband says. Last night he tells me "you no longer need to wear that". I said you don't like lingerie anymore. He says no it's not like. You already have a nice body so you don't need to cover it anymore. Should I just be butt naked & not wear lingerie?

Hey Guys...new to forum. Finally decided to listen to my doctor and attend a bariatric seminar. Went to a seminar, Decided on the VSG and completed all my paperwork. I am excited about getting started, and just wondering how long it was before you guys got called for your first appointment with the surgeon? Also curious guy's thoughts about who and when tell others you're having surgery? My wife and I have talked about this, but I am a bit hesitant to start letting others know that I'm going to do the VS G. I want to stay focused on the process that I have to go through, and not really wanting to hear a lot of feedback on reason not to do it. Finally, interest…

Just played my first round of golf post surgery. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to put the same weight into my swing, etc. Silly, I know but that's the type of stuff that goes through my head. Have to report that golf is much easier with less weight. Besides the fact that the weight loss had no negative effects on my game, there was a bunch of little stuff that made the whole experience more enjoyable. Not having my shirt go all untucked every swing, not sweating like a pig, not feeling like I was climbing Everest every time I walked up to an elevated green, not having my thigh smooch against the side rail in the golf cart we're all welcomed improvements. …

A female member asked me to post this question to Men here on BP as she wanted to respect the guideline of women not posting in this subforum. She also wished to remain anonymous, so here is a question from her: I'm wondering if any of the men on here had trouble with ejaculation (ie: not being able to ejaculate or having delayed ejaculation) when they were heavier. My husband has been between 300 - 340 lbs (his weight fluctuates) in the two years that I've known him and he has a lot of trouble in this area. Though he gets and maintains an erection the entire time we are intimate, he's never once ejaculated. At first I thought maybe he wasn't attracted to me, but h…

Well I visited the doctor again after a month which was a last week, he stated I should have started working out so I started working out which ended up being a month later just to be save. Greeting, I am now 9 days post and on full fluids until Tuesday. My daily intake is basically Soup, Protein shakes, Water and some low calorie juices. I'm concerned because it seems I'm able to eat more soup than I thought to be full. I'm taking about 1 cup in each time. This is way less than I would have eaten pre sleeve, but I have not felt very constricted yet. Will this change when I move to soft more dense foods? Thanks for the support.

Well, I'm back. Kinda surreal how quick it was over and I'm back home. Had to have a hietal hernia and a umbilical hernia repaired as well. The surgeon said the belly button one would probably hurt the most afterwards. It does. Was in the hospital for two nights, three days. Clears while in lockup and advanced to full liquids coming home. The hospital was the best I'd ever been to. Everyone was great and things couldn't have gone more smoothly. I had no luck with the gas though, and everyone here was dead on right about gas discomfort. I was only able to eliminate a significant amount just a little while ago. How do you spell relief???? I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and working out 4 days a week with my trainer and doing cardio 6 days a week. I'm hungry all the time which makes me afraid that I will start to gain the weight back. I've also noticed that the amount of food that I consume at one time has increased. My Dietitian wants me to eat meals of 2-3 oz 7 times a day every 3hrs consisting of high Protein and good carbs that will keep me satiated. I told the dietitian about my Special K high protein cereal/crack obsession;I can eat this all day long, she told me to get it out my house and never buy it again because it's obviously a trigger food. Hey Guys - Just thinking about life post-op, how I'm going to look, etc. I've always been known as a 'big guy' for as long as I can remember. Anyone else worry about not being a big guy post surgery? I know that sounds weird, because, well, that is the point of the decision to have surgery, but along with the many downsides to being a overweight there are some advantages to being a big guy. Just wondering if I'm the only one that thought of this or if anybody else thought that too?

Thought it might be helpful to share something that has worked out rather well for me so far post-op. Got inspired by some examples I came across surfing the internet and figured once I had committed WLS it couldn't be a better time to build a treadmill desk. Since I already had the treadmill, building one primarily meant fashioning a desk add-on that could lock to the upper portion of the treadmill and support a keyboard / mouse. Secondarily was finding a decent media stand that could support the componentry desired and raise it to a functional standing height. Though it would be possible to do computer work on these, I primarily use it for gaming (Xbox / PC) and w…

Since I have been back on solid foods I have been keeping my meals very simple. Mainly because I have not wanted anything else. i see alot of people talking about complicated recipes (which is fine), but I really dont care much bout what I am eating. An average day for me consists of 2 eggs for Breakfast, usually fried(using pam spray) lunch 4ish ozs of turkey, chicken, tuna, and for dinner somewhat the same as lunch with maybe a small portion of veggies. In between I may have a greek yogurt, Protein shake or some beef Jerky. I actually love that it is this simple and I hope I can keep on the same track indefinitely. Anyone else having the same experience??

First day I was cleared for weights and it's amazing how much I lost. Basically was working out with 25% less weights than I was 6 weeks ago when I had the surgery. I knew it would happen and not trying to bitch or anything, just kind of amazed how much it was. Anyone upped their Protein and calories after 6 weeks to over 100 grams and 1,000 calories? My goal right now is 80 grams and about 850 calories. The calorie one is arbitrary as my surgeon just wanted me to get between 60-80 grams of protein and didn't say anything about calories other than obviously don't push it and don't eat around the sleeve.

"My 600 Pound Life" on TLC is my current guilty pleasure. I think I have watched parts of the show before in the past but now that I am getting ready for my sleeve surgery the show makes much more sense now. I am nowhere near 600 pounds, halfway there so I'm proactively stopping the weight gain madness. I've tried to watch as many episodes as I could find on Netflix and the Internet, I still have not seen any with guys at this point. I did find on Netflix, "The World's Fattest Man" which was a little disappointing because they dragged out the pre-surgery process to the very end and basically with only a few minutes left he has the surgery. I was thinking were they actuall…

Today I am getting random sharp sudden pains in my abdomen and I am wondering why this is? 4 months post op so I should be practically fully healed. There were 9 of us in the room, 4 guys and 5 girls. All of the girls seemed to be doing the full bypass when 3 of us guys were doing sleeve. I have 190 as a semi arbitrary goal weight, which would be something like a 27 BMI (still "overweight" but good in my book). My real question is how and when to stop losing weight? I'm able to eat so little now and and have such limited desire to eat. If I continue with the current intake, I'm concerned that I will blow past 190, which I don't think would look very good. As the weeks go by, will I just naturally be able to eat more and will my weight just stabilize on its own? Did anyone intentionally try to eat higher calorie foods to sl…
