I'm having a hell of a time eating meat. I have only had a couple of issues with vomiting after my sleeve. We had a ham for Easter and I tried a little and threw it up. Same thing happened when I tried to eat chicken. When I tried hamburger I got sick and had to lay down. Same thing when I tried a slow cooked chuck roast. I'm about 2.5 months post-op. Has anyone else had this sort of issue? What works and what doesn't? I've always been a big meat eater - love to grill, etc. - wondering if those days are over.

  3. I was pushing the limits of XXL size shirts when I started this. Now those shirts are huge on me. The crazy thing is that most XL size shirts are like skin tight on me, showing off what gut and moobs I have left. Is it just me or is the difference between XXL and XL just crazy?

  4. Anyone else find that the comfort wipe wand was the wrong gift to give their girlfriend / spouse? She complained about not being able to reach so I bought one for her and one for when she comes over to my place. Just like a guy, I see a problem and try to solve it. ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crfGXmxJ1vM More recently she bought herself the more expensive Freedom Wand because it can be taken apart and fits in her purse. Sorry. since I am on vacation and surfing the web, I am doing a lot of posting.

  5. The greatest side effect of this surgery has been the positive effect on my relationship with my wife of 27 years. I am down 35 lbs From 258 to 223) since my DOS (1/20/15). and the last three weeks have been like the first three weeks we met. Also was having some severe ED problems (blood pressure meds and weight... the culprit) that are slowly subsiding... I feel fantastic from the weight loss alone.... We always have had a great relationship over 27 years but this little change has kinda rekindled something we lost along the way...raising 2 kids, jobs and me not taking care of my body and appearance.....here's hoping every sleever sees this benefit!

My goal is to be 195 to 205lbs but she thinks im going to lose more...maybe maybe not either way im doing it for myself, her and my son. She's also had the sleeve done so she's telling me this and that and I apreciate it but she also didn't follow the doctors rules also, that's why I told her im going to do it by the letter whatever the doctor tells me thats what im going to do. I have always shopped, for 60 years (64 now) in big and tall stores or catalogs. I am 6'4", size 18 shoe, etc. I have to have tall sizes. I have lost 42# in a month, and have already gone through 2 sizes but am still firmly in the big and tall store/catalog zone, but the weight is coming off very fast and I can see getting below a 46 waist and into 1 XL Tall shirts by mid summer. Here is my stupid question...do regular men's clothing stores sell long pants and tall shirts? I have no idea. I have never bought clothing in a re…

Since she is trying to hit me up for money for plastic surgery, I'm afraid to bring this topic up since it may not be covered by insurance and cost me more.

  11. So, without being long winded I was banded 5 years ago last month. I love my band but I don't always respect it. I started at 242 lbs and got down to 198 lbs about 18 months ago but am back up to 207 lbs this morning. I haven't had a fill in about 2 years and am wanting to get back on the horse and get down to 185 lbs. I don't have any questions, I don't have many comments but I will say that this forum has re-motivated me to get going again and get to where I wanted to be a long time ago. I've scheduled a fill for next week and am so looking forward to be "tight" again. My main reason for writing this is accountability as well as appreciation to everyone who posts …

Is there such a thing as protein crystals that you can add to water that does not make it milky, but let's it stay the consistency of water? If so, does it come unflavored? I need to figure out how to get protein during clear liquid post surgery stage and isoprene tastes like metal to me. Any suggestions are welcome.

The only issue I have is having to drink so much powdered mix everyday. It seems like I have to drink 1 oz an hour and it gets old quick... Well guys it has been 11 days since surgery. I have lost 18 pounds and 1 pant size... I dare say it has been a good experience so far. The only thing I don't like is the Bariatric Meal drinks I have to drink (7 a day). I am really looking forward to eating real food again even though I'm not really hungry right now. I have to say the sugar free popcicles have been a God send.... Without them I would have probably killed someone by now. Well gotta get back to being a loser... hehe

  24. I was sleeved on Aug 20th. I've lost about 120lbs between the pre-surgery diet and surgery itself. A few things I've noticed that concern me: 1) I haven't lost any weight in over a month. 2) I can eat a good deal more now than I could a couple of months ago. I still get the "did I stretch my pouch?" worry sometimes. 3) I've been really hungry lately. I'll eat, get full, then an hour later I'm hungry again. When I say hungry, I mean I feel like I'm starving. I must add, that i broke my foot in October and was pretty much immobile for nearly three months. I still limp, but I'm at a point where I think I can start exercising again (just no cardio or foot-related exerci…

It doesn't seem to have a pattern, and it feels like if you did a hard ab session and you try and stand up straight and it feels like your stomach is stretching. It seriously hurts on a scale of 1-10 at like an 8 or 9. I've asked my docs about it, and they said it doesn't sound like anything serious, just something post surgical that happens from time to time. I've been trying to figure out if it's a pattern, as in did i eat something that my body didn't like and i'm not recognizing it, or did i eat something too fast? Stuff like that. I moved into size 36 jeans today after a brief 2 week stint in 38's! I'Ve been in tight 42-44's for the last 8 years so this is the best feeling in the world. The fact that it happened in the middle of a 2 week weight stall is even better. I can't describe how much this changes my "head" in making me realize I am really going to be successful with this surgery. After so many failed diets and weight loss trials over the years I guess I just got programmed to expect eventual failure. 29. Hi guys, I'm 11 days post surgery and I find that I can eat quite a bit more than I thought I'd be able to. I just started drinking some vegetable Soup today and I can put down at least 1.5 cups at one sitting. Is this too much? I am getting adequate Protein amounts from shakes and greek yogurt, but I'm concerned that I'm able to eat food at a pretty good clip. Today I have had the following: Protein shake for Breakfast Protein shake for lunch since then at least three bowls (about 1 cup) of home made vege soup 3/4 cup of greek yogurt with some canned fruit cocktail (no sugar added) I'm still hungry and I have room for more. What do you guys think?

As a gentleman of generous proportions, I do find it necessary to shop at the DXL. I'm not proud of it, but this is my reality and until I can get down to a smaller size this is the way it will be. I've come to accept that. I went there recently for some new clothes. As I walk in, I am immediately greeted by a very nice associate welcoming me to the store and offering to assist me in helping me find what I need. Now in my warped mind, I'm thinking this guy is calling me out in public for being in the "fat store" when in reality probably isn't the case. BTW, there are two places that come to mind where I do not want my presence announced upon entering, the Megaplexxx…

Well, I'm one year today from my sleeve surgery. Not quite at my goal, but still a major accomplishment so far. I went from wearing 55 pants to 34's and XXL shirts to Mediums. From never stepping foot in a Gym to 2-3 times a week and riding my bicycle every night for about 10 miles. The stalls did start going longer and longer so I've had to step up the exercises to keep the weight coming off. I have been eating alot (between 100 to 200g) of Protein daily and that has really benefited me in my workouts and exercises. I have noticed a real increase in muscle and strength. Let me start off by saying that I always look for a way to save money...when I can. Here's something I discovered recently. I was getting in some walking the other day in costco and stumbled, almost literally over the Kirkland brand Calcium Chews. A bag of 180 is $9 versus $30 for 90 when I bought them at the doctors office last month. Doctor also sells some really good Ostrim Protein sticks (I got the habanero beef and elk stick) for $2 at the doctor's office. Go to the company direct and they're $1.25. http://www.protos-inc.com/ostrim_Elk_Hab.html There are a lot of flavors, they're really meaty; don't think Slim Jim cause these are 2 oz. Hope this helps!
