  8. this is one of the reasons why i kept mine a secret, some people just don't like it when you're doing better than them so they lash out and want to blab on how we "cheated" our way into losing weight. so far my secret has not been told to anyone but my mom and brother. going on 1yr 5 months now, not one peep. i get some looks on peoples faces that tell me they might have a hunch that i got the procedure done but i just put my poker face on lol

  10. this is exactly what i do. when i go out to eat its always a salad since its not a heavy meal and i tell people i cut rice and bread but little do they know i really can't eat that, since it will fill me up to fast. i get little looks from family members that know something is up but they wouldn't think that i did the surgery. its so funny!

  14. yea my friends and family are extremely judgmental and i have yet to tell anyone but my brother and mother. i was lucky i did my surgery in march so there weren't any big holidays. my go to excuse would be "i ate already" and if i did have to eat, i would always grab a handful of food and say "i wasn't that hungry" Good Luck! 5 months down, 90lbs lighter!
  15. well so far so good, I've gotten my surgery done last month and not one person knows besides my mom and brother. my friends and family has noticed the weight loss and i tell them i just drink Protein as a Meal Replacement and thats the end of that conversation. if i was to tell them truth, it'll be a whole different judgmental conversation which I'm not interested in.
  16. What part of NY? I'm in westchester and no I haven't told anyone but my husband, mom, sister and BFF he's a guy lolZ I don't want anyone feeling like they have a right to tell me I'm cheating, or taking the ways way out, or convince me of how dangerous it can be. I want to be stress free going into this. Good luck! im in brooklyn, I've only told my brother and honestly not planning to tell anyone. they'll eventually might see the minor scars but i'll cross that bridge when i get there.
  17. i am! but I'm having my surgery in tijuana, Mexico. i start my liquid diet tomorrow! FML lol

  19. thanks for the responses, I'm definitely gonna have to hit the weights!
  20. thank you all for your responses. i admire all of you and can't wait to get this done already. i honestly think I'm going to keep this to myself. like janey said i just wouldn't be able to handle every time my name is mentioned or if i see someone their first thought being about the surgery. kudos to you.
  21. I'm 27 6ft 345lbs and getting the procedure done march 25 and still haven't told ANYONE about it. i feel like I'm cheating my way into losing weight. i honestly don't plan on telling anyone and just say I'm on a "Diet" Like plenty of people on here, i don't plan on spending my 30's like my 20's.
  22. Scheduled to be sleeve March 25th and was wondering any of you guys with man boobs, how did the weight loss help? Did the man boobs go down or does it sag and now have extra skin? my biggest insecurity right now is my chest!
