How long after surgery until you were able to do more rigorous exercise?

I'm thinking specifically of sports like raquetball and basketball. My doc has given me the greenlight to hit the gym again (I'm about a month post op) but I really miss playing sports - this is actually one of the things I am most looking forward to. Any suggestions?

I felt I was ready at 2 months. Surgeon gave the green light for everything at 3 months, but all surgeons are different.

At 6 weeks or so your sutures are all healed and you cant really hurt anything. Biggest issue at that point is getting enough nutrition in to sustain the physical activity. Keep hydrated!

I went back to the gym at about 5 weeks. Progressed quickly back to normal routine.

after 6 weeks I didn't feel any incision pain and started hitting it hard.
