    10 days post op!

I had a hard time with Protein too. The shakes work great if you get the pre-made ones (premier protein was my favorite) and you can get flavorless Protein Powder that you can add to just about any other food...I ended up doing this b/c I got really sick of the "sweet" liquid foods and needed to feed my salt cravings - so I just mixed some in with soup and it went great. Good luck!
  2. I'm thinking specifically of sports like raquetball and basketball. My doc has given me the greenlight to hit the gym again (I'm about a month post op) but I really miss playing sports - this is actually one of the things I am most looking forward to. Any suggestions?
  3. Thanks for the tips guys. I'm going in tomorrow morning before work...hopefully I don't pop a stitch

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

I actually laughed out loud when I read the title to this topic - because I thought the OP was trying to be lighthearted. I slipped up several times during my pre-op and chalked that up to "if I could follow a diet and lose weight, I probably wouldn't need surgery". For better or worse, all of us made the decision to have WLS b/c we knew that it was the only long term way to reach our goals. Why else would we expose ourselves to the risks of surgery, complications from surgery, lifetime reliance on vitamins, huge financial hardship (my insurance didn't cover it), etc. Yes, of course we want to follow our doctor's orders to the letter, and yes I'm positive OP did this to better his/her life. I'm also positive that we are human and prone to weakness (and mistakes). I'm disappointed with some of the mean-spirited responses, and I'm encouraged by some of the helpful ones. As long as you have the desire to get healthy, it will happen. The sleeve will help you along the way, and will prevent you from making some of these mistakes in the future!
  5. So, I've been steadily feeling better since my sleeve surgery, then today I bent over to pick something up and felt an incredibly sharp pain in my left side. I am worried that I ripped open the incision internally. I can sit in relative comfort, but standing and walking are painful. It helps if I push in at the incision site when standing, if that makes sense. Will this go away by itself?
  6. I was in a lot of pain that first day, and it got better every day after. I was able to speak to the people in my doctor's office and they said I likely tore some scar tissue from the interior of my abdomen, but that it would heal itself in time. I was feeling so much better after my surgery, and I guess I just pushed myself too hard. Good news is that I can barely notice it today!
