Ok, I just got my sleeve one week ago. I have been feeling anxious about the hole food restriction thing and feeling like I will never be able to enjoy a good meal again because I can only eat two bites of my food for life. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELPPPPP! 1. What are your typical days meals and how much of it can you eat? (PICTURES WOULD BE FABULOUS IF POSSIBLE) 2. Do you every wish you could eat more than what you are eatting and get depressed over it? 3. Do you regret the surgery or are you happy you did it? 4. How many months/years post sleeve are you?

I have lost 133 pounds so far. The LAP-BAND® works if you work it. Get regular fills and go to your follow up appointments religiously. Follow the rules and make working out and regular exercise a part of your daily routine. I love the LAP-BAND®! Good luck! If you are curious, check out my blog.

I had my revision from band to sleeve on 10/15 with Dr Aceves! I am a little late posting my 1 month stats, but they are so incredible i had to share! I have lost a total of 17.75 inches over all, 8 in my waist alone! And 24.6 pounds. Would like to see the weight drop quicker, but hey, it didn't come off this fast with my band! and it is still going down!!! i am so amazed at how i feel right now, I have energy and can eat pretty much any solid that i try. I did have one bad experience with Gyro meat, but I'll try again in a few months! I totally love that I am never hungry and a cheese stick fills me up! I would do this all over again in a hot second!!! thanks fo…

I am one month out today it really amazes me how fast time flys by, I am only 4 pounds away from my half way goal which I am sure I will make by next week. I truly contribute being this far to my nut's pre op diet on which I lost 30 pounds. I really do recomend putting your self on a pre op diet even if your surgen and Nut do not require one, it really does help with getting your self ready for the change in diet post op and it puts you that much closer to goal for after surgey. Good luck to all who are considering VSG and to all who have all redady joined the loosers bench! You have all been such wonderfull inspiration to me

WOOHOO!! Doc said I am doing Great! I got my drain out, which totally didn't hurt at all! YAY! When I got them out after my breast reduction it hurt SO BAD! Talked with the doc for some time just making sure everything I am experencing is "normal" and she says it is expect one small thing. I have been having 4 BMs a day since Saturday so she thinks I might have a bacterial infection which is actually caused in like 1% of patients from an antibotic that they gave me right after surgery! LOL We are going to give it another day or two and see. She also thinks it might be the tea so she doesn't want me to drink anymore hot tea (wasn't drinking that much anyways!) I g…

Today I was able to RUN up a flight of stairs. Then, I was able to trot down them rather quick too. Interesting huh? Ok, maybe not all THAT interesting - but if you would have seen me try to climb one flight of stairs 2 months ago, you would feel me on this... lol I have completely damaged both of my knees being severely and morbidly obese for 20 years. That is all.

Today is my 3-month surgiversary, so I took some photos, but there's something wrong with the board and it won't let me upload them to my gallery. So I decided to post here until that issue is resolved. In this post, I have 3 pix of me on the day before the surgery, and in the next post, I'm gonna have 3 pictures from today.

It is pretty amazing, it seems life gets a little easier every day. The weight continues to come off and I am already nearing my goal which has been so challenging my entire life. This past week I took out old pictures of myself and discovered that I have literally been riding a roller coaster since the 3rd grade. I don't have a lot of memories from those years but I have the pictures that show a normal looking happy child and from that point the next picture is a tremendous change in size and my face was so round and chubby. I remember always feeling that I was the largest-roundest kid in the class. I remember having to wear shorts when I would wear a dre…

  14. I think this thread goes on this forum, not wher I posted before... Hi all! Tomorrow marks my fourth month post surgery. What has this journey been like? Well... 1. No leakage or any other serious complication- thank God! 2. I never expected the post surgery experience I had. Anxiety and depression, like I've never witnessed in myself or anyone else. kicked in about two weeks post. Uncontrollable, snowballing, unexplainable, irrational fear, sadness, and regret. I went on tranquilizers, developed a mild dependecy on the benzo, had to follow a tapering process, but all ended well. This experience is unforgettable to me and my family! Everyone entering this surgery p…

I have to say it's the best thing I've done in my life. Ever. - Had the sleeve at BMI 36 and am now at BMI 22.9, which I've successfully maintained for the past 3-4 months. If I gain 2-3 pounds, I start to feel tight and lose them again. If I go below, my boobs completely disappear and my face starts to look too skeleton like so I'm sticking to this weight for the foreseeable future - Dieting was and is easy and once I learned how to eat I haven't been sick. Had one major painful kidney stone episode in March, learned to drink more and it hasn't recurred (& it passed the natural route, so to speak, so nothing but pain medication needed) - I love my new life. I'…

Our family has the horrible habit of eating out a lot. So when they eat out, I just dont go and stay home and eat my liquids or my school paste puree LOL. But today, the Harry Potter movie came out and my husband knows how excited I get about that movie. So he took a half of day at work and came home early and suprised me with dinner and a movie date. He said I will enjoy myself. I was a little hesitant about going to the movies, you know the concession stand and all, but when I got there I got a bottle Water, a…

I didn't lose very much this month (8 lbs.) however I did lose another 13 inches. This brings my total weight loss to 88.2 lbs. and my total inches lost to 67.25. This is still a wild trip and everyday is a new adventure in learning. But, I guess the most important thing is that I am still finding new info all the time. I can't help but wonder sometimes how I would have done this without the internet. I shudder to think of going through this without the knowledge and support I get here. Thanks to all of you for being here, giving me feedback, support, warm thoughts and prayers. You guys help me so much. (((hugs)))

The truth is, I can't remember the last time I weighed less than 200 lbs, but I have to think is was more than 20 years ago! Needless to say, I am delilghted with this latest number and can hardly believe that I am here only 4 months after surgery. I am still working on being better about taking my Vitamins and exercising, but overall things are going very well. I am amazed at the changes in my body and I am constantly surprised to find bones sticking out where I had forgetten they existed! People have been very positive a…

…between me and my “former” life. This week, I am 6 weeks post-op, and down a total of 40# (including what I lost during the pre-op liquid diet). I guess you can say I’m STOKED about it…but it hasn’t been without some tears. *lol* Things are still touch & go with my food. A true love/HATE relationship at this point. Most days I vomit at least once – but generally not the gut-wrenching “Why hast thou forsaken me?!”. More like just a little spit up/mega indigestion/sludge-type of deal. I PROMISE, I’m trying to eat the right things (ie: chick/turkey breast, yogurt, Soup, Beans, veggies) but my body doesn’t always cooperate. And THAT is the thing that pisses me off. Admi…

Just so I can eat a few bites of cake if I choose to and not feel that nagging guilt if the scale goes up a lb. I will use my doctor's number as my "rock". I am in the process of getting ready to go through with the vertical sleeve, I would like to ask the veterans about their experience with hair loss, when does it happen, can it be avoided, can it be lessened and...finally does the hair return? In some of the pictures that I see I see women with a full head of hair so I am confused.

I want to know did anyone save their favorite pair of pants/shorts from before you lost your weight just to put on and SEE THE RESULTS? I maybe crazy but I want to save my favorite pair of capris that I wear all the time. EVERYTHING else will be GONE forever!!! LOL That way IF I have a bad day I can put them on and SEE THE RESULTS. I'm a visual person so I want to SEE RESULTS! I can't wait!!
