Good morning! It is 7 AM and I am getting ready to report to the hospital. I am not nervous at all! I started this process last Nov./Dec. so I am definitely ready. I feel so prepared. I will be recuperating at my mom's house until the weekend. I have several new pairs of pjs that I bought (i love crisp and cute pjs) things fr my clear liquids and full liquids. If I could just get off of LBT and go take a shower. Good thing it takes me about 10 min to get to the hospital... I'll be checking in from my iphone so I can post but won't be able to input my beloved smileys TTYL!

Sorry, kinda new here. I looked but maybe I'm missing it. Is there a way to see my recent post, like I will post something, maybe a question and then get on the next day and I can't find it. If I find one of mine I can then click on my name as I will be able to do when Im done with this and then I can see recent post. Is there a easier way? I am so sorry if it is right in front of me and I'm just not seeing it. Thanks for your help.

Although I'm not new to the site (I've been "snooping" for quite some time now), this is officially my first post. I've learned so much from this website. I just received the call about my official surgery date today so I thought it appropriate to make my membership with LBT official as well. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. My mother and I are going through this process together (HI MOM, cuz I know you're reading this) and I know it will bring us together in a way we hadn't discovered yet. She's always been a big part of my support system throughout my life and I cant' wait to return the favor after she gets her band too. This site is great and I'm glad I found it. …

:smile:Hello! I am a newbie...Just getting started. I am getting evaluations and appointments with doctors right now, trying to qualify for lapband surgery. I am a 57 female, tired of the merry-go round of dieting. I am having some nerves right now but am trying to work through it. Looking forward to getting approved and scheduled for a sugery date. I am weighing in at 370.5 pounds as of yesterday, its hard carrying around the excess baggage. I am feeling it more as I get older, I am a type-2 diabetic with joint and back problems and need to see some improvement before I approach that big number 0f 60! Wish me luck!

Hi, My name is Mutt, and I am scheduled for surgery 9/19/08. I have had weight problems since the mid 80's. Im 46 yrs. young, and an amazing 296 pounds heavy. I have been researching this procedure for about one year now and when I asked my doc. about it he said it was a good idea. Next thing I know im appoved, I hope not a little too soon. I guess im just a big chicken, I have never liked the idea of surgery. Reading some of the horror stories really hasnt helped. Given my faimly history and the fact that I fail misabrilly with any and all diets I know its nessary. Any suggestions? Should I seek professional help?

Hi all, I have been lurking on the website for awhile now gathering up as much info as I can. I am still in the process for banding. I am just waiting on a surgery date now. I am still shocked at really how fast this process has gone. I have breezed through every level. Except that the psych really had me flustered. She was "worried" about me, I guess she was worried about my committment to what this will take. Isn't 15 years of dieting a comittment? Anyway at the end of the session she told me I will approve you but you know what you need to work on. She actually had me rethinking my ability to go through with this but on the other hand I thought I am tired of people …

Hello all, My name is Jessica and I was banded Dec. 19, 2007. My weight loss has been incredibly slow and frustrating, but I am still here. I have had 8 fills and am just now beginning to feel the inklings of restriction. I am still hopeful that things will start looking up. Cheers, Jessie

I am 66 years old and I am just starting the process. I have a psych eval, and a Nutrition eval, on Wednesday. I actually started this process a year ago, by going to the seminar. I am a medicare ins. I was told it takes about a year as they only do a certain amount of Medicare. Then they called me and I went to see the Dr. last week. I have lost 44 lbs since last January. I am not sure why, but a year ago in July, i had a total knee replacement, then in October I had surgery to repair a c3-c4-c5 in my neck, and ever since they have healed up, no more pain, and a heck of a lot more active. I will keep you posted as I hope to continue on with this process.

Hey ya'll I'm from TX! I have my surgery date on Oct 1st & I couldn't be more scared. I've been reading on these forums for a while but decided I needed more support so I created a profile. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow & so I guess it's just really starting to set in. I'm young so my greatest concern is going to be the excess Skin, so starting out I'm about 60 lbs away from my goal weight, so I'm hoping with alot of working out that will not be too much of an issue, but I just feel like I haven't asked enough questions, or don't know enough....I guess i'm just stressing out... Well here I am! & Good luck to everyone!!!

Hello there, my name is Chris, I am from Melbourne, Australia. I do not have a lap-band, and I am not all that certain the procedure is all that popular here. Certainly, I know of only one person who has had the op. Ultimately, I have joined this forum for more information on the subject. All the Best. Chris.

The Day has finally come.... tomorrow I have my lap band surgery! I am excited, :tt2:anxious, scared :unsure:combined! I have to stay overnight, which I did not think was necessary, but hey Dr. knows best. All the instructions from the nutritionist for post op, have become so confusing. I hope they re-empahsize what I need to do after I complete the surgery. Just wanted to say hi.

Hello Everyone! This is my first post! I have been looking into getting lap band surgery for awhile now, but still haven't "pulled the trigger" so to speak. I live in Seattle, WA and would love to talk to people that are in the area who have had this surgery. I don't think there is anyway I could afford getting the surgery done in the States, so I was looking at possibly going to Mexico. I would be very interested to hear from people who have done this, and their thoughts on the whole process. What was the final straw for you to finally make the decision to go through with getting the surgery? If you had it done out of the US where do you get your fills when you come…

Hi everyone! I've been browsing on this forum for a while but I thought it was about time I introduce myself and start posting. I just got banded one week ago. So far so good. Healing is coming along nicely. I am still on the liquid diet, and I am just starting to feel hungry. At first after surgery I felt quite a bit of restriction, but now I don't have too much. I've got quite a lot to lose, and I'm not really sure what I should select as a goal weight. Since I'm starting at 433, to be honest, I would be happy getting below 250. Funny how that as a goal weight would be higher than many people's starting weight... But I would really like to get down to more lik…

I just had my pre-op meeting with the surgeon and the exercise therapist and the nutritionist and I'm cleared to go ahead in 2 weeks. I seriously decided to do this in May but due to work have had to put my surgery off until now. I was shaking like a leaf when I went to my meetings today but now I'm relaxed, but still nervous, and ready to go. I start my pre-op liquids on Sunday. YUM!!! but I've decided to look at it with a positive attitude and know it's for my own good. Wish me luck Simon

I've been MIA for awhile, so I wanted to update everyone on my progress. I have lost 30 lbs since June 30 (Surgery was July 9th). I had to do a 2-week liquid diet prior to my surgery, so that contributed a bit. So, what is everyone here doing as far as workouts? I love to walk more than anything, and I do power-walk. What is everyone here doing?

Okay I am new to the whole process of getting approved, and am not sure I understand the steps. I went to my PCM and requested the lapband. He asked me about my attempts to lose weight and if I had anything medically wrong other than my weight. I told him I was borderline for pcos, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He asked if I'd seen the dietician recently. I told him I'd seen her several times in the past couple of years but she wasn't very helpful beyond giving me printouts. He typed something in the computer and looked at some stuff and then said he thought it was a 'brilliant' idea and would submit the paperwork. It had to go somewhere else beyond him…

It will get me ready for my new way of life after I go back to work. If you go to their website you can print a two week free trial pass. Let me know if you decide to go too.

After each of my children I gained about 20 pounds.2 years ago I started at a weight loss clininc and lost 68 pounds in 6 months . I have gained bac…

Hii :cursing: My name is Nieka, I'm new to the site since about a week ago, I've been looking around and reading all the amazing posts, also joining in a bit. I thought I'd wait until I saw my doctor until I officially said Hellloo! About me I'm 18 years old, I weigh 105kgs and I'm 168cm tall. I've been overweight since forever. I've tried dieting, exercising, eating healthy, EVERYTHING! I've thought about the lapband before, but now that I'm 18 I feel like I'm old enough and really ready to get this done. I am a very shy and self conscious person, and I feel that it is due to my weight that I'm like this. I feel like I can't really be who I am inside until the w…

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hello..I have an appt. in a week to meet with a surgeon and attend a lap band seminar in the same day, it's all one process...can't stand being heavy anymore, I don't feel well physically, my back hurts, two years ago I went to see about breast reduction surgery and was told "you need to lose a ton of weight". So humiliating! But if I don't lower my overall weight, my body will look out of proportion... I'm nervous but feel I need to do this...

Good Afternoon everyone, I have been a member of and read this forum for quite awhile but have never posted. I got my band on Feb 14, 2007 it has been over a year now and I have lost 80 pounds. But not without some bumps in the road along the way. My port had to be replaced after 8 months then the new port went south and the tubing came off and was laying on a bunch of nerves which was driving my insides crazy. But thru it all my doctor was great, he didn't charge me for the two port problems and he has encourged me all the way. I am having numerous fights with the hospital and insurance, but I just keep on fighting. Anyway there are lots of pro's and lots of con's it i…

Hi Everyone, I am new to this site. I have decided to self pay as I have HPN and it only pays less than a 1/3 of the total cost of surgery. I am going to see Dr. Teng in Las Vegas next week and hopefully be ok'd for surgery. I figure if I self pay I will be able to get my surgery quicker and not have to jump through as many hoops. Any others out there from Vegas who have used Dr.Teng?
