Confessional - Lets post our cheats/confessions/etc so others can see that we are all human

Just today I had a couple of small spoonfuls of fried rice with my Black Pepper chicken and Beef and Broccoli from Panda Express. It was awesome! Turned that plate of food into 3 meals. I also have started making my kids' favorite again, chicken alfredo penne Pasta, in which I also partake. The pasta is high Protein so I kind of justify it that way. I don't eat nearly as much as I used to however. Smaller portions. :)

I can’t drink the protein; I become nauseated and gag. May 15th was my surgical date, but I’m not showing any Protein deficiencies???

There is no test for Protein deficiencies. But the long term effects of not getting enough protein are no joke.

Tons of ways to get protein in, poke around other threads or start a new topic :)

Wow, y'alls confessions are so tame :D (I'm in TX at the moment, so I can say y'all )

Yesterday I had shake Shack, Taco Bell and an 18 course dinner. No confessions here because I hit my Protein goal and was under 600 calories!

fourth meal time comes right at bedtime. This is when bets are off. Peanut Butter, semi sweet chocolate chips, pop tarts, chocolate candy. I'm not exceeding 900 cals a day but I'm not losing either. The whole you wont be hungry again is bs. I wish I had the bypass. My binge foods are slider foods.

This might be why, when you consume foods like this and then go to bed your body can't burn them off... try switching your cheat meal to the middle of the day to see if that helps any.

I definitely cheated pre-op... post op I don't consider what I'm eating as cheat meals. I stay within my calorie limit and eat very little of it. I LOVE fries so I might pick at them here and there, I've had chips but never a whole bag like before. I can't drink pop, the carbonation hurts my stomach. Otherwise I'd love a glass! Probably a good thing tho. lol I'm down 78lbs in 3.5 months.

LOVE this thread. Doesn't make me feel bad for having those 2 chicken nuggets last night after staying strict with liquid all day. Back on the horse today. Im down 4lbs(just getting started with my journey) and my official liquid diet starts tomorrow but I have been trying really hard to stick to it now. Surgery in one week. :)

Overall i eat really really well, but i definitely had some caramel m&m’s a few days ago because i was craving chocolate and it was amazeballs.

I’ll say this though so it’s clear. Live your life and don’t apologize or feel guilty about it. But at the same time cheats are for occasions, and they tend to work out better for people in the maintenance phase vs still losing phase. If you want to cheat do it, but own it and be accountable so you dont fall off the wagon. It’s easy to do. It’s your journey, have fun with it.

Yesterday was my birthday and my "nutrition" for the day included a Protein Shake in the morning.....and then alcohol. No food. Because I'm really smart. -_- (not)

Confessions! They make my catholic schoolgirl heart flutter. Anyway, ten days into the two week liquid diet I screech into the Burger King parking lot like the getaway driver in a bank robbery. Order a small onion ring (sans sauce-I'm health conscience like that) and woof them down. As I'm licking my fingers I think how guilty I should feel and I should probably cry or something but I couldn't squeeze out a single tear. Funny thing is, I don't even like Burger King and there were way better options across the street but I couldn't be bothered to do a U turn.

This post made me feel so much better, we're all human, we do human things like eat things we're not supposed to and slip past that fine line of good and bad! But it goes to show that you can still lead a "normal" life with little to no repercussions as long as its not a constant reoccurring thing! Thank you so much Matt!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
