Great job Countrygrrl! I agree that it has been a lot of hard work. The sleeve is only a tool to use to help us succeed and without the proper state of mind our results would be much slower or we would just fail. I just passed 10 months out and I have lost 197 lbs. that was with the Dr wanting me to maintain my weight for 2 months. Keep up the great work, you are looking great each day, keep saying that. And hope to hear of more of your success.

Just curious. Because I'm 330 lbs I can not wear shoes with any heel ( it kills my feet). Has anyone had the same problem which has been resolved after losing weight ?

@@WasBigInMaryland Wow!!! Congrats on that success!! I was 491 at my highest and 422 on surgery day (Dec 17 2014). I weigh in tomorrow for my weekly weigh-in and am hoping to hit 322 (100 lbs down from surgery!) this week. After that I have 3 more weeks until my 6 month anniversary so I can't wait to see how the next three weeks go! Crossing my fingers! May I ask how long ago you had surgery/how long it took you to get down to 220?

heynowkc, I had my surgery in Dec. 2013 about 10 months later I was at 220. My doctor told me a was dropping weight quick. He told to have a chocolate bar now and then. I thought he was joking. I usually stay between 220 and 226 now a days

@@WasBigInMaryland Wow that is very fast!!! I'd have to lose another 100 lbs in the next 5 (4.75) months to hit that loss in 10 months. Not sure I could do that too (your results are definitely not typical I am guessing!) but hey, I'd love to try! ;) Hit my 100 lb mark since surgery today btw! Actually a little over. Yippee!

That is awesome to hear and very encouraging, before our daughter was born 7 yrs ago I was down 60 lbs to 340lbs then two years ago I was shocked, I weighed in at 400lbs, so last two years hovered around 380lbs, then when I started this journey was weighed two weeks ago at 362.2, now following my pre op diet and 11 days away, I think I will be down to between 348-354lbs, which will help me greatly with surgery and recovery, especially walking, thank you for your post, these forums really keep me upbeat

I was 376 on my surgery date at 5/19, one month post op I am 346.. Program start weight was 396.. Its a tough tool to use, but I think it will be worth it.. I am already off of diabetes medicines and looking to come off high blood pressure medicine in another two weeks. Get rid of Cpap in 2 months maybe when I get under 300. Co-morbidities dropping away as fast as my weight.

Target weight, 233.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
