What Are You Looking Forward To?

  • Popular Post

I've been reading posts on how people are nervous about their upcoming surgeries. Mine is scheduled for July 3rd. Not concerned about the operation at all. Everytime I think about it, my mind goes to the things I'm looking forward to.

I’m looking forward to the roller coasters, airplanes, restaurant booths, bathroom stalls, concert and movie seats, and clothes that I’ll be able to fit into again. The joy of playing basketball, tennis, golf and going long to catch a pass. The confidence in knowing I can sit in a chair – ANY CHAIR – and not worry about whether it can support me. The amusement parks, Water parks, state fairs that I can enjoy ALL DAY. To have the energy to climb a set of stairs, wash my own car, to help a friend move. To buy a shirt on sale from a DEPARTMENT STORE! To look great in a suit. To go to a conference and wear a 2x t-shirt instead of being the only 6x! I’m looking forward to seeing old friends, family, and business associates; the next class reunion! Oh, what joy it will be to spoon, have great sex, and to walk out of the shower feeling desirable. To not hear the inappropriate comments from people who say they love me (I WANT TO SIT ON THEM!); to hear the same comments from strangers! To get into the floor with my grandkids, knowing that I’m going to get in the floor with THEIR kids some day.

My view from the mountain top is so awesome, that the climb is merely a formality!

Everyone thought i was crazy for having "elective" surgery. I was happy all the way to the hospital' date=' and till they took me to surgery! I'm over the hormonal part i do believe, so guys be prepared its worst than pms! I am 7 weeks out, starting to get compliments! Every day is amazing, I enjoy something new everyday seems like. My thing I am really looking forward too is....... walking past a mirror in the store and realizing that is really me staring back!!!!! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']

What is the hormone phase? My date is August 20 th. doesn't seem so far now that's july.

I was told where we lose weight so quickly our bodies are just flooded with hormones. Some one else may be able to describe it better. I was sad, mean, angry and the whole time wanting to be happy! Lasted about three weeks for me!

I'm looking forward to shopping for normal sizes, being able to look at myself in a mirror ,no kneepain, traveling in comfort ,not telling everyone I'm in the witness protection program so they won't take mt picture, feeling "light on my feet" not looking forward to the whole procees but keeping my eye to the future

OM Gosh, this whole post made me cry for many reasons, one I am sure is the hormones that are caused by the surgery, but mostly because it is like yall are reading my mind or journal. I ALWAYS think people are looking at me and judging because of my weight and the simple things in life are difficult but I didn't know anyone else wanted these simple things. I am sooo looking forward to NEVER having to ask for a table instead of a booth at a restaurant again. I want to parasail, buy a Jeep, be in good enough shape to play softball again if I wanted to. Be in family pictures or any picture and everything else that was stated in these posts. I hope and pray we all get what we are looking for and the happiness we all deserve!!!! Just BELIEVE

I forgot that one....I don't have any pictures Im willing to share of my new grandbaby and me. I hate taking the 'fat' pictures of myself...Im always the one taking the pictures...I want to be in the pictures !

My hormones are a mess now too. Hopeing that calms down soon. I don't want to take it to work with me at the end of this week.

Hormones are stored in body fat. So as we start to burn and lose that fat, it releases those stored hormones and that is why you get a flood of so many emotions. Some people say they could cry at blink of eye, others can easily get depressed, you can be sad, angry, hateful etc. Any emotion is possible. Basically we have the potential of becoming someones worst nightmare until we get through all those stored hormones. I have already been teaching my husband on things that could happen that we (myself) may not have much control over. It's definitely going to take some understanding from everyone who is apart of your life.

LMAO @ in the witness protection program so they don't take your picture!!! That is hilarious!

I am most looking forward to:

*Babies

*not being compared to my sisters weight

*Being able to eat in front of my grandma instead of hiding in the kitchen to eat

*going to events at the local convention center and being able to fit in the seats

*actually start living my life

Good luck to you sleeve sister. When is your surgery?

I am new to this site. I have been just reading for a week or so. I just found out my surgery date is Nov 20th and I have started to have worries....can I do it....will I b able to follow the rules...will I b successful?? But these post remind me that all the sacrifice will b worth it!!!

I can't wait to sit comfortably on an airplane.

To believe my husband when he says I'm sexy.

To feel good about me.

To enjoy life and not hide.

To not be out of breath putting clothes in the washer.

To wear a bathing suit in public and be proud.

To not b depressed when I look in a mirror or see a picture of me.

To think I'm pretty.

I'm looking forward to not having the steering wheel rub up against my stomach when I'm driving because my belly is too big and my legs are too short to make driving possible otherwise. I'm looking forward to going out to a restaurant and not worrying if I'll fit in the seat or the booth. Oh, and to have the towel fit all the way around me. To not have my feet hurt after standing for only five minutes. To not get winded walking up a flight of stairs. To not always be the biggest one in the room. To maybe, possibly find someone to settle down with and live this blessed life with!

note2bear~ awesome thought/thread.

I can't wait to:

*Step out from behind the camera to show I actually am part of this family or at at certain events.

*Wear a skirt/dress without needing Spanx to prevent chafing.

*Not sweating more than any gal ever should, just being anywhere over 65°.

*Ditch the CPAP and the back aches.

*Have one chin.

*Cross my legs naturally.

*Buy panties/bras that don't come in an 8-pack/box.

*Pursue my love of shooting more since I won't mind the audience.

*Shopping for clothing in the 'regular' section and forever kissing Plus Size goodbye.

*Paint my own toenails.

*Be able to play with my daughter, like she wants and deserves.

Looking forward to a lot of things that everyone has already stated, but it all equates to one thing for me. Living life to the fullest with no restraints, no insecurities, totally free.

Good luck to you sleeve sister. When is your surgery?

I don't have my date yet. I have two more weeks of classes for my insurance before I can meet with the surgeon. I'm expecting sometime mid August.
