  1. I just noticed you've already had your appt. Did you come up with some good questions??
  2. I have mine on Friday and am asking the following: Dexa scans? Preop then yearly? Post-op pain mgmt? How long is actual surgery? Will I be intibated? Have a catheter? Should I bring GasX strips with me? Still building my list
  3. Hey Drea!! I'm a pre-op Kaiser Fremont gal too, but live in Tracy. As it turns out, I'll be going to me first-ever meeting in Antioch next Tuesday (the day actually works for me...yay!), so if you can make it...that'd be fab The Psych had me all wierded out too, but it was just a really chill chit-chat session. I felt silly that I had actually postponed it a couple of times! I don't have a ton of friends on here as I spend far more time on FB (just joined a couple great groups there), but if you ever want to chit-chat PM me. It'd be great to have a pal going through the same thing and in the somewhat same timeframe.
  4. Hi Pamelia! I'm also pre-op VSG in Fremont, but with Dr. Dennen I'm always up to chat with folks in my shoes, so feel free to message me.
  5. About how long was it between your doc (in my case, Dr. Dennen) getting your chart, once you reached your goal weight, and you actually getting a call back to schedule your surgery date? From there, about how long before your surgery date?
  6. I live in Tracy, but am being seen in Fremont! My file has finally headed to my surgeon, so crossing my fingers to hear about a surgery date shortly Anyone in my neck of the woods prefer one support group to another?
  7. They are definitely not delicious...at all. I've tried two, but my friends have tried others and feel the same. The Margarita is really bad and the piña colada is barely better. If it happens to show up at a party, give it a try, otherwise, save your $$
  8. Thanks for the idea, but to be honest, I think it might backfire especially with a 2.5 month wait once I can actually get a date. There'd alot of time to potentially creep up and I'd hate to get booted at the finish line for gaining a little, since I'd be eating. They can do that, right? Plus, after looking thru my all stuff, I don't even have info on the pre-op liqiid diet yet, even for me to kind of follow along. What's the dealio?
  9. Thanks!! I do need to be better about using MFP aaand the heat has really jacked up working out, but, come on...we know those are just excuses I do, however, think I just got bored with my 'diet'. I didn't have much variety, simply due to not knowing any better options, so I need to have a plethora of good options this go 'round. Wish me luck!
  10. Just got home from my psych consult where I learned I've gained 4.5 lbs :/ Totally disheartened since it was hard (for me) to shed the last 5 I lost. Even if the scale is slightly different than the one at my doctors office, I've still gained. So now, I have 9.5 lbs before my pre-op goal, 4.5 more before my surgeon will even look at my file (which is where I should have been today), and there's already a 2.5 month wait once I'm able to get a date. I know it doesn't probably sound like a big deal, but all this has really taken the wind out of my sails. Just had to vent a little
  11. *raises hand* I've been in the pre-op process for awhile (took a 6 month break to figure it allll out) and am back in action and in it to win it Oh, I'm in Tracy too.
  12. I'm a bay area gal, living in Tracy, going thru Kaiser Fremont with Dr. Dennen! I'm a little farther into the process (have my psych this afternoon), but would dig a buddy
  13. I'm from Tracy and going thru Kaiser Fremont....Dr. Dennen, to be exact. I'm so excited to be back on-track and I actually have my psych today I sometimes feel a little 'out in the boonies' here, as far as support goes, so if any of you Valley peeps ever want to chat...I'm allll ears!
  14. I have my obligatory pre-op psych appointment this coming Monday, and I'm just wondering what to expect. Not sure why, but I'm more nervous about this appt than any of the others thus far. I mean, can they see me unfit or something? (not that I am, but my brain worries...) For any other NorCal Kaiser peeps, what was your next step afterward?
  15. New gal here! From the Bay Area, but living in the Central Valley and using Kaiser Fremont
  16. Fanastic idea!!
  17. I can't wait to: *Step out from behind the camera to show I actually am part of this family or at at certain events. *Wear a skirt/dress without needing Spanx to prevent chafing. *Not sweating more than any gal ever should, just being anywhere over 65°. *Ditch the CPAP and the back aches. *Have one chin. *Cross my legs naturally. *Buy panties/bras that don't come in an 8-pack/box. *Pursue my love of shooting more since I won't mind the audience. *Shopping for clothing in the 'regular' section and forever kissing Plus Size goodbye. *Paint my own toenails. *Be able to play with my daughter, like she wants and deserves.
