August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Hi all ! I'm being sleeved August 8th, 2012 by Dr Morris Washington in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there any other august sleevers on here?

I'm 27 (almost) ---about 100-130 to lose.

Hey girls.

I was sleeved on 8/1 by dr Chau in Princeton nj. I was released on 8/2. I am 21 years old about 5'4 and went in weighing 257 pounds. I am now at 252 lbs. I was surprised that I did not feel much pain since I'm not one to tolerate pain it was more sore than anything.

I'm glad you are feeling good cole and that you already are on the losers bench! Hold me a seat! I think it's gonna be really full this month lol

Hi ya'll...

Well after my pre-op visit and re-reading some of the posts, I'm a little curious. My doc said he would be using a #44 French boogie???

And I see others have such a smaller one... what's the difference... anyone know?

I had never heard of a bougie till I started watching videos. here is one I watched from my Doctor that explained them. The smaller the better, mine wil be a 32....seems to me a 44 is really big

Not necessarily the smaller the better, because I think the smallest is like a 28, but Dr. A uses a 32, which as he explains takes out enough of the stomach to give good long term results without narrowing the stomach too much and causing a stricture (too narrow of a passage). Base on my understanding, a 44 seems large to me too. HTH.

Hello ladies. I was sleeved on Thursday. Surgery went fine. I was in a lot of pain afterwards that was not very well controlled for awhile after. :-/

I was unable to keep down sips of anything or ice Chips until late this morning. Trust me dry heaves after being sleeved Is incredibly painful. I've been able to do some walking. Every day is a little better. First day was rough!

So glad you are feeling better!

Started my official pre-op liquids yesterday. Must be psychological, I did not struggle much at all when it was optional, but the first day I am required to do it, I can't stop thinking about my favorite foods. Control issues - ya think?

Thanks Klyn for posting the video link! I hadn't thought of asking the surgeon that question.

I am 8/6 sleever! Happy! Looking foreward to it! 5'2 want to be approximately 140#! preop was not hard, however, waiting for insurance was the hardest. Wish you All well Will check back in a few days after surgery. Hopefully not too much pain =)

I haven't been on here in awhile due to phone issues...congrats to all new sleevers i hope all is going well with you guys

Alright...I'm in, too! Scheduled for August 20....starting the liquids on Monday....here we go!

welcome. It's a great forum!!

My surgery is 3 days away and I can't sleep at all. I'm very nervous and starting to have second thoughts... I keep asking myself: How am I Christian if this is considered self mutilation? What if I have complications? What if I can do this on my own? What example am I setting for my 12 year old sister by doing this? I'm also thinking... I have no self control and don't know how it got me to such an extreme.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Just getting ready to head to hospital....hugs all....

Praying for you!!
