Mom_24 got a reaction from Ramona1019 in August 13Th Sleever!
Doing so much better, 2 days post-op, than I would've expected. Discharged this morning, got home this afternoon. I am tired, but not in pain, and able to tolerate fluids with the sip-wait technique advised by Dr. Alvarez.
    How is everyone else?

Sweetsusie and mom_24, I am also in Houston--Bear Creek. I am scheduled for August 23 with Dr. Garcia in Mexico. I would love to be able to get together with fellow sleevers and have a support system. I really feel like I am on an island all by myself. Onlyone really is Debbie.

Monday is my day, too. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I am going to Dr. Alvarez in Mexico, just across the border from Texas.

So ..I had posted recently that I was able to wear my wedding band and engagement ring again. Well I also had a mother's ring I couldn't wear my hubby designed and commissioned a man named David to make for me. This ring is very special to me because 1) my hubby loving designed the infinity design and had all of our birthstones placed within the infinity symbol, and 2) David was dying with colon cancer and this was one of the last rings he commissioned to make. When I got it to my surprise, my birth stone was not the right one, but David had a turn for the worse and I didn't have the heart to take it back..David passed a couple of days later. So for a long time ..I was sadden because one it would honor my husband and family to wear it and it would honor David since it was one of the last pieces his hands made, nut my jands had become too large to cpmfortably amd safely wear. To my great surprise, my ring fits on my right middle finger now instead of my right ring finger! I will not have it resized. I plan on wearing it and reminiscing about how this beautiful gesture came to be. I will just keep on switching fingers until I run out! Then..I may wear it around my neck! I am glad I loved myself enough to get my sleeve. My life is much better for it!

Almost exact same story for me, so I went on my prep diet 11 days early so I would't gain any more (using myfitnesspal to track it) and I've already lost it back and then some. But, I know how you feel. It freaked me out!

I split up with my husband over online "friendships" that became too friendly. I don't think you can ever be too cautious with regard to this kind of thing. I trusted my husband and never dreamed I should be checking up on him, and by the time I did, it was too late. I think you are wise to confront her on it, so that she can know your marriage is intact and will hopefully stop trying to pull anything (assuming those are her motives). If it is innocent, she will totally understand, since she is a good friend.

Mom_24 reacted to Smoggy in Swimming!
I am three weeks out and was cleared to submerge recently. I've been swimming (breaststroke) every day since for 30 minutes a day and loving it. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I burn about 500 calories every time I swim and it is great for all sorts of muscles especially the dreaded batwings. I am not a gym person AT ALL but have occasionally been into jogging (couch to 5k) however here in the Middle East it is BLINDINGLY hot right now so I am thrilled I have been given the all clear to use a nearby pool at a friends apartment who is away for the summer. I am liking it so much I may even join a gym club somewhere in time, so I can use the pool. I plan to add 5 minutes a week to my swim until I reach an hour. Can't believe I just typed that, but I am. Goodness, is there a chance I may become an exercise junkie? LOL

Tameka and Joyce, I am really excited too. I am trying to balance my excitement with the sobering reality of the behavioral changes I will be making. I realize that this is a tool to help me change and not a "quick fix" for a lifetime of poor eating habits. At the same time, I am a little giddy!
I really love all of the videos on Dr. A's YouTube channel. That was a huge point of comfort to me. Being educated about what I am considering is incredibly important to me. Now let's just hope I get my passport in time!
