What can I say??? I have been overweight my entire life. I think the 1st time I remember feeling fat, I was around 9 years old. I have tried every diet know to man....don't even want to think about how much money I have spent on fad diets, books, dvds, special foods...etc.

I have been researching weight loss surgery for over 4 years. Unfortunately I had a family that did not survive gastric bypass surgery when I was 13 and the surgery was a lot more risky and not performed frequently. I began the process of trying to obtain approval for WLS over a year ago, and have been met with nothing but issues and red tape from my insurance company. Because of this I am having surgery with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico on 10/8/2012.
