Hi all ! I'm being sleeved August 8th, 2012 by Dr Morris Washington in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there any other august sleevers on here?

I'm 27 (almost) ---about 100-130 to lose.

Dlmeekie, I am guessing you haven't started your preop yet. We are about the same weight wise and I start my preop two weeks prior to surgery. Right now I am focusing on no sugar, caffine or artificial sweetner on my own just to help ease the transition when it comes. I didn;t want to go to a liquid diet while I still had sugar issues. I am 1 week sugar free and feel so much better. I have lost any weight but that wasn't my goal.

BTW ( I had Taco Bell today to, but no coke LOL) I will shoot for a better dinner.

5'4" must be the magic height for August. I'm also 5'4" and 240 lbs.

5'4 and 238! 5'4 is surely the magic number.

The list has grown sooo since the last time I checked it! There are several other 8/1s on the list now!!!

It was soooo hard for me to concentrate at work today. Going to get my eyebrows waxed and a pedicure after work to prepare. I wish it was Weds already, it sucks that I won't know my surgery time until tmrw. I hope its early, I want to be on the loser's bench ASAP!

A wee lil bit about me: I am a 31 year old newly wed (well its been just over a year). I have a awesome "too big for her britches" 10 year old daughter. I have been struggling with my LIFE for an eternity, but the weight issues began about 8 years ago.

I have everything I ever dreamed of, and I should be the happiest I have ever been but my weight is out of control and I have spiraled into one hell of a depression. I have been coming out of it little by little. I plan on finding a therapist to see once a month after surgery.

It was soooo hard for me to concentrate at work today. Going to get my eyebrows waxed and a pedicure after work to prepare. I wish it was Weds already, it sucks that I won't know my surgery time until tmrw. I hope its early, I want to be on the loser's bench ASAP!

right there with you MsDallassleever - pedi & eyebrows, bag packed, can't concentrate and I do not know what time my Wed. surgery is until they call me tomorrow between 8am and 5pm.... it will be hard to not hang out by the phone.

Welcome to all newbies! I just finished work and begin my clear liquids tomorrow. surgery is WEDS!!! yes I am nervous! We are putting a lot of faith in these docs but have to do our part too. I was not told to lose weight prior to surgery just NOT GAIN not Gorge. When you eat uncontrollably it engorges the liver which has to be moved out of the way to get to your stomach. Surgeries are cancelled if the liver is too engorged and it is unsafe. So I put myself on South Beach for the last 3 weeks and bought a pile of Atkins bars to get me through my weak times. It worked well... Have lost 11.5 pounds! I hope all us August first gals are able to log back on soon I want to know my pals did well ... Hang in there Ladies ... We are almost to ground zero! I feel like this is my chance to truly begin anew and all my old diet failures wiped clean and forgiven! I'm amazed I am decaffinated and may actually want to stay that way!! To all those following check on us and hang in there...YOU CAN DO THIS!

My goodness, my nerves have kicked it up a notch today!! One more work day, one travel day and then surgery day! I am so excited, crying one minute but usually tears of sheer happiness. My poor hubby, he is in for an emotional ride with me the next few days!!

Icandothis, I sure hope to see you before Rosy heads us back to the USA.

I have to run for now to eat, my BS is dropping. I will be back later.

Joyce, I am so there with you. I have been feeling pretty confident about my decision. Today my nerves took over. I have been second guessing myself all day and replaying the worse case scenarios. Struggling to find my positive thoughts!! Hang in there my Thursday buddy!! I'm thinking of you.

I basically have no eyebrows (they have faded as I have gotten older) but I did get a pedicure and my hair cut and the gray covered up Can't have ugly toes on surgery day! Anyway, one of my first treats for myself, after 25 lbs of weight loss, I am giving myself and eyebrow dye. I have a friend at church that does it, so that it my fun thing to look forward to!

Melly~ i am thinking of you and you will be in my prayers, that is for sure. We are doing something so wonderful for ourselves and our families. I have been teary today, just emotions that need to escape. I am happy as can be, I try not to think bad thoughts (what COULD happen) just focus on the benefits of all of this. I wish you a perfect surgery and quick healing with as little pain as possible! HUGS to you!
