Traveling After Surgery
I was sleeved in Mexico and had to fly home on the third day after surgery. It was exhausting but that was expected since it was so soon after having surgery. I rested up for a day or two and was fine. I still could not go to Chicago and walk a lot and I am 5 weeks out now. I still have a lack of energy most days. You may be totally fine, we all heal differently. Hope you have a great trip to the Windy City!

What Is Your New Favorite Drink?
Good way to get in some extra protein...I did try a small cup of coffee at work this afternoon with sweetener and creamer. It was warm and yummy My tummy did not mind it.

What Is Your New Favorite Drink?
Sounds SO yummy, Susie. I loved coffee before being sleeved but I have only had a couple of sips so far. Do you use decaf coffee? I have a Toddy maker ( a filtered pitcher for making coffee extracts) and I would love to try this and add vanilla Protein powder to it. Maybe once I start eating normal foods I will try some coffee again.

Hood Milk And Soy Slender --- Really Good
So sorry that I have missed this post. I use Unjury unflavored protein powder. I like it the best of all I have tried. Next time I will order the vanilla also. Sometimes I need a break from chocolate.

Am I The Only One Losing Slow
I had surgery on Aug 2 and am down 21 pounds. I think I lose slowly too, but we have to realize that our body is basically in starvation mode and it does not want to turn lose of the weight. I still do not get in enough protein or water in most days. It takes time. I understand how you feel but the weight will come off, our bodies just need to adjust.

Sick Of It!
I slept in my bed the first night home, had to sleep on my right side with pillows between me and hubby. Within the first week I was able to roll over to my right side and sleep in my normal position. I was thankful that I did not have to camp out in the recliner. Try using several pillows for support. Hopefully you will sleeping in your own bed very quickly!!

Frustrated! What Am I Doing Wrong?
You are doing great Giina! Almost one month out for us! This month has flown by. I am such a slow loser but as long as I get to my goal, I try not to get too worried over it. Stalls come and they go, we just have to go with the flow...

When Did You Stop Being Tired And Start Feeling Normal Again?
I am four weeks out today and feel like I finally am returning to normal. Today is the first day I made it all day at work and did not need to rest for a few in the afternoon. Hopefully I am turning a corner. I have been taking vitamins since I got home from having surgery. Get a sub-lingual B 12, that helps with energy. We won't feel totally normal until we are consuming more calories and our bodies are all healed inside. Hope you feel better quickly!!

Hello Puree!
I was sleeved on 8/02 and just this week got to have pureed foods. The first few days have been challenging, to say the least. I thought I was ready to eat food but have found that liquids go down MUCH easier. I had some refried beans tonight and brought home a container that probably has 4-5 more meals in it. They taste good but just not much space in there and if I take one bite more than I should, I regret for at least 30 minutes. The best thing I have tried so far is grits with some extra milk to make them thinner. I have not tried blended meats at all yet. Good luck to all of you getting to eat now. My advice is to go slowly........

When Can I Take A Pill Again
My Dr had us taking pills for pain when we left the hospital. They had to be smaller than an M&M. I only missed the day after surgery of not taking blood pressure meds. I take several vitamins and my Zantac each day, 46 minutes apart.

Unflavored Protein Powder
I think it is, there are some people that have said they bought unflavored nectar protein powder at GNC. Unjury is available through their website and some bariatric surgeons offices.

Frustrated! What Am I Doing Wrong?
Mamamelly, I understand. I stalled for a few days too. It has to happen. Hide your scale sweetie, weigh in once a week on Thursday since that was our surgery day. You are doing great. Just keep on doing what you know that you gotta do and you will be fine. You gotta friend me on myfitnesspal too We are going to win this battle, my sleeve sister!!

Things I Don't Like About Being Sleeved, What Are Yours?
I am less than a month out and what I hate right now is the lack of energy. It seems that I am ok one minute and totally zapped the next. So far, that is all that I do not like.

67 Pounds Down. Updated Pictures
You look great after just 2 months!! Your face has changed so much. I will remember your lemon juice tip. I buy a flavored white balsamic peach vinegar and used to have it the same way each night. Have not tried it since surgery. I think I may try it to see how it sets in my stomach. Best of luck with your weight loss!

Whats Worse Child Birth Or Vsg?
For me VSG surgery was pretty painless. I had my gall bladder removed and woke up feeling like my insides had been burned. Two C-sections with massive incisions that took weeks to heal. VSG any day is the easiest and least painful.

Constipation
Have any of you tried Smooth Move tea? It is made by Traditional Medicinals, I believe. It comes in three flavors and tastes good. I make 2 bags in one cup and drink it hot. Usually works the next day, if not, I drink it again. My husband uses it all the time too. I have issues but I have not tried the tea yet. I will do that this weekend. If that won't work, I will get MOM .

Poll Please: Most Tolerable Bang For Your Buck Protein Powder
Sorry, my spell check changed mix to miss....I still drink Hood with unflavored powder. It is good.

Unflavored Protein Powder
I like it a lot, it not sicky sweet like some are, I seem to be sensitive to sweet tastes n since surgery. I hope that you like it. I just received my second order of the canisters.

Unflavored Protein Powder
I use the UNJURY and I have never tasted it in anything. I add it to low carb chocolate milk for protein drinks, to soups and yogurt. I love the Unjury chicken, chocolate and unflavored. It is high quality medical protein and so much better than the RTD canned drinks.

Isopure Help!
I have heard to mix them with like 32 oz of water and a similar flavor of Crystal Light. I tried and after three days had choked down one bottle. I know people say they like them but I just cannot do it.

Unjury Chocolate Splendor
I prefer Unjury because it tastes good (chocolate and the chicken) and I cannot taste the unflavored in soup or milk. It is top quality medical protein and tastes so much better than most other protein drinks. The RTD stuff in cans is VERY sicky sweet.
