  1. Congrats to all of you! I wish you all the best for a terrific surgery and speedy recovery!! I am this week also :0
  2. Oh. ladies...I am getting so close now! Goodness, I simply cannot believe it!! Only two days and a wake-up until I am ready to fly to TX. I am working tomorrow and Tuesday morning and then hubby and I are staying near the airport since our flight leaves so early out of KCI. From then on it will be a whirlwind, I am sure. Jenn, I am so glad that your Mom has come around to see things your way. It helps to have family on your side, that is for sure. I am not real close to my sisters but they do know and if they don't like it, they have not voiced it to me. My niece just had it done last week so I have her for support. I have a great husband that is happy that I am doing this for myself and my kids are too. I have a hard time understanding why family wants to be negative about something that will help us live a better life. Susie, I hope that you are feeling better now. You are doing so well, even with being sick. I can[t imagine being around food like you have to be. My hubby may not get a real meal for a very long time! I am in on any reunions that Dr. A will have. I look forward to meeting each of you one day. You are all special to me. It is great to have people that understand and do not judge you for being overweight and choosing to do something about it. I had so many nice things said to me today at church, it is nice to know that people care and they are thinking of me as I begin my journey. Sometimes I feel as if I am too old to change but I am not. I have lots of years left in me and I want to live them the way I choose to. I want to travel with my husband and enjoy the years we have left together having a joyous life!
  3. It is a fairly new procedure and not many Dr's do it yet. I am having it done with 5 small incisions. I do not like anything going through my belly button, it takes a long time for that to heal.
  4. Oh, bad day, Slenderella. My goodness, I would be stressed to the max too. Hang in there....it is almost over!!
  5. 4 days until I board that plane to TX!! So close now!!
  6. I did OK today. I did struggle with some hunger (head hunger, I am sure). I am ready for bed so I can call it a day. Only 5 more days of liquids before surgery. Ready for this weekend because I get to spend it with my hubby and we have lots of things to do around the house. Time to get the suitcases out and get ready to start packing for our trip to MX, maybe that will keep my mind off of food.
  7. It WILL happen once you get this bacteria under control. Your tummy is healing up now and it does not reqire much to fill it up. You will do better next week once you feel better and have more energy
  8. Hopefully you will kick this strep in the be-hind and feel like eating very soon!
  9. Tonight mushies sound good to me!
  10. So sorry about the strep throat. My son gets it and it is so horrible. My Dr that treated him says you have to carry the strep bacteria in your body to get it. The rest of our family does not get it but he can be just NEAR someone and get it. Hope the meds help you feel better super quickly!! R>E>S>T
  11. That is awesome! You truly will not be sorry I cannot wait to meet him face to face. I have watched his videos so many times that I feel like I know him. I have spoken to many of his former patients and he has so many great testimonies. I have searched high and low and found only one person that said anything remotely negative. The thing I love is that he is always there for us. Susan is wonderful too, so very kind and responds very quickly. Good luck to you as you proceed
  12. I am going to Dr. A next Thursday and my friend is there today. There are many people on this board that have been, or are going to him for surgery. He is a great surgeon and just a really great man. There is a Dr. Alvarez thread on here somewhere. There are less expensive Dr's in MX and many people have used them but I chose him for many reasons. His hospital is not in Tijuana, I personally did not want to go there. You cross the border at Eagle Pass, TX. He works out of small but nice hospital and keeps you there, he does not use a recovery house. His staff is small and they treat you very well. He only does 2, sometimes 3 surgeries per day. My husband will stay in my room with me the whole time. He has very positive feedback on every forum. All hotels/transportation are included in his fee. He is very easy to contact and will always be there if you need him. The plus to all of this is he is a highly acclaimed surgeon, he knows his stuff. His English is perfect, so you can easily speak to him. Check him out, read about his patient feedback and read about other Dr's. You have to know in your heart what is right for you.
  13. Hope all of you are doing well tonight!
  14. Same questions for me. I have surgery one week from today.
  15. So glad that it is nothing worse. Right after surgery anything is bad so I hope the meds work and get you back to new! Thinking of you today ((HUGS)))
  16. Try a glycerine suppositories ... They usually work within an hour!
  17. Good for you for speaking to her. Some people have a personality problem and she must be one of them! Hold your head high and be proud of yourself for taking control. Don't let her drag you down!
  18. My husband and I did HCG last summer, lost weight well but all of mine is back. Hubby did not gain all of his weight back but some. He wants to do it again after I have my surgery. It is not hard to stick to but it is hard to maintain.
  19. I have one jello per day. I too like the chewiness of it. I really enjoy chicken broth, it is very comforting to me. I have been a grouch today!! Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
  20. Good luck tomorrow!! I wish you all the best. A perfect surgery and rapid healing, as little pain as possible
  21. I think we all have to adjust our tastebuds for this journey. Protein in drinks does taste different, it is not Campbell's soup by any means. It is one of the things we are allowed to have before and directly after our surgery to give some good nutrition to our bodies as they heal. It is just for a short time and then we will be having our yummy creamed soups again. I am thankful that it is only for 2-3 weeks!
  22. I have not fome bad with food today or been overly hungry BUT every little thing has made me grouchy! Goodness. I am having a cup of warm chicken broth and going to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be much better! One week from tomorrow is surgery day!
  23. Have not heard from Susie , I hope that she has not gotten sicker. I feel so bad for her!
  24. Doing pretty well, just trying to stay busy. Don't want too much time to think about things Hope that tomorrow is better for you with your BS. Mine has been pretty good through the liquid diet but I am still on my meds too. I only have had one episode so far, of it dropping crazy low. Tomorrow is a week from us leaving for Texas, I am excited about that!!
  25. Good luck to you tomorrow! Speedy healing and as little pain as possible!
