  1. You really do look great your face has changed so much all ready! That us awesome.
  2. I was sleeved on Aug.2 and have been in a stall about a week. Trying to ride it out without getting in a funk over it. I really am ready to lose NOW!
  3. Took me three days to drink one bottle, even mixing it with other stuff. Finally found that a Sonic slush would mask the flavor but it was so sweet I couldn't handle that either. Not trying to be negative but the aftertaste is awful.
  4. It is ok to be a bit nervous about surgery but don't let nerves get the best of you! I went to Mexico to Dr. Alvarez for surgery on Aug. 2 and had a great experience there. Protein powders are hard because we all have different tastes. I have tried some that people rave about and they make me gag. I prefer Unjury, you order it online and it is a bit pricey but it is high quality medical protein. I love the chicken soup, unflavored and chocolate. They taste good with NO nasty sweetener aftertaste. My opinion, do not waste your money on ready to drink shakes. If you want to try one, go to Gnc Or Vitamin Shoppe and by single cans of different brands to sample. Do the same with Isopure in the glass bottles and the protein bullets. I personally gag at the thought of drinking the last two bit other people like them. It is all about personal taste. Good luck to you on your surgery! It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself!!
  5. That is so cool! I asked my Dr. How large my old stomach was and he said "It was pretty large". I look at the hole they made in me to take it out and it is amazing it is so tiny. This surgery is pretty amazing! I am so thankful for the Dr's that worked to perfect it so that I could have it done!
  6. You truly look amazing! Congrats to you !!
  7. You can find Medifast online, they have their own website, there are some weight loss centers that carry Medifast products. If you live near a large city you may have luck finding a center. They sell several different snack type items. they also have crackers that have protein in them, they are kind of bland but they have protein you can also find Medifast products on EBAY.
  8. I live in the Midwest and you can find Flat Out breads @ Walmart, HyVee, and some Price Choppers. They are usually kept near the deli cases, not on the bread isle. They do make yummy pizza. Can't wait for real food so I can try one.
  9. Our insurance has a $5000.00 dedutible for any hospital stay. Also, I went to Dr. Alvarez for my sleeve surgery on August 2. He is an amazing surgeon. I understand that there are less expensive Dr's in Mexico but he truly is a wonderful surgeon. I woke up in No pain and have felt really great since my surgery. They take really good care of you and you are in a hospital the whole time. They transport you there and back so everything is taken care of. You even get your after care meds. There is a Dr. Alvarez board on this forum if you want other testimonies.
  10. I miss Hood Carb Countdown with the Unjury unflavored protein powder to make a protein drink. i also add a spoonful of Greek Yogurt for extra protein and creaminess. It is good, so much better than the ready to drink canned drinks.
  11. It sounds crazy but I had very little pain from surgery. I was sleeved two weeks ago by Dr. Alvarez in Mexico. No pain, other than the IV insertion and some sore tummy muscles. No nausea, very few gas pains from the gas used during surgery. I have felt amazing since I woke up. I had pain yesterday from my tummy not liking my BP meds. That was the worst I have hurt in this whole process.
  12. I like the Hood a lot. It is what I can get down with protein powder mixed in.
  13. Congrats to you on making the choice to do this. I had surgery two weeks ago and feel great. It is a great thing to do for our health and quality of life!
  14. I REALLY hate most Protein drinks. I just spent $2.99 on Oh, Yeah drink. I could barely choke down half of it. Either people get paid to write reviews about these drinks or my tastes are WAY off. I had my daughter and hubby taste it and they agreed it is the worst one yet for having the nasty aftertaste. I have better luck buying Hood Carb Countdown dairy drink and mixing the unjury unflavored in it. If you have not ordered Unjury, it is very good. I have only tried unflavored and the chicken Soup but they are drinkable without the artificial sweet nasty aftertaste. I get mushy foods next week and I am so thankful for the chance to have some different tastes to look forward to!
  15. I had my surgery in Mexico. Dr. Alvarez was my surgeon. I woke up from surgery in NO pain, had to ask my husband if they did it. I had some minor gas pain once I started ice chips and water gave me heartburn. I have had very little pain from insicions, only tenderness in my abdomen. I have had c sections and gallbladder removed, this has been the easiest surgery I have ever experienced.
  16. That is awesome! It gives me hope that one day I will be getting compliments too. I am only 2 weeks out and losing slowly but I will take any loss. I know know that I will only go down from this point on!
  17. Congrats to you....you are rockin your sleeve. For. Sure.
  18. You need to call your Dr. and let him know Pepcid is not working for you. I know that some people need a prescription strength medication. I take Zantac twice a day and have NO issues at all so far. Call them and let them know you are suffering.
  19. Good luck tomorrow, CandiKiss! You will be fine after the first few days. Just take one day at a time
  20. Campbell's cheesy broccoli cream soup is good. I. Just tried it tonight. You have to blend it before you warm it but it has good flavor. I was surprised, or I am just really hungry tonight!
  21. 10 days was all I could handle it. My husband is super gentle and he did not hurt me at all. It was great my Dr. says whenever you feel comfortable, that comes sooner for some people.
  22. I think we all have sex after surgery when we feel ready. My husband was concerned about it being painful for me so he would not even "go there" . I finally brought it up and told him it was going to be fine. Ten days was all I could stand ! I go to the same Dr. As Stormwarning and he does tell us that we can resume sex whenever we are comfortable. Some people get comfortable faster than others don't let it get you worked up if it was two days or twenty. It is a personal matter.
  23. That seems so early to have real foods. Mr Dr. says no food until after 4 weeks. Food sounds good right now but I am sticking to my liquids
  24. You won't regret it. He is truly a great surgeon. I am 8 days out and feel great.
  25. I fully agree with both of you! I am so happy that we chose him. He is wonderful!! I did the same, had to ask hubby if they did my surgery! Woke up in NO pain!
