  1. I asked my surgeon that very question a couple weeks after my surgery. He said the stomach is healed in 2-3 weeks.

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

Thankfully I didn't have that problem. However, you will find that your body changes daily so hopefully it will resolve itself quickly.

I'm four weeks out and still don't have much desire to eat. In fact, I think I've only had one craving .....and it passed quickly. I still have to remind myself to eat most of the time. Even if you do decide to eat you'll just have a few bites and you'll be done. Love my sleeve! :-)

    Any Bay Area California Sleevers?

All the best to you next week!

    Brazillian Chicken

This sound fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing.
  7. I'm so glad to hear other people have experienced the "lump" thing. I have the same thing. I am three weeks post op and my Dr. said it's nothing to worry about. It's just weird to me to feel that lump.

    Newbie Saying Hello

Hello! Welcome. I know it helped me to focus on the fact I wasn't a slave to food anymore. Now I have more time to explore things that interest me and spend more time with people I love or even meet new people. As I lose weight I am feeling healthier, less self-concious and more energetic. All of this is much more life affirming than life depleting junk food. Hang in there....allow yourself to mourn and then think of all the positive changes.
  9. Congratulations. That's awesome!

    Cheese Cake Dessert

I think I'll try this tomorrow. Sounds yummy!
  11. Thank you! I'm doing really well. In fact I'm able to eat alot more than I expected at day six!!! I was able to eat a 1/2 cup of cream soup and and 5 oz of protein shake for dinner. That seems strange to me...but I'm definitely losing weight!

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I was shocked to have had a bm in the hospital today. I had to take Milk of Magnesia the day before surgery to clean me out....I didn' t eat anything in the hospital and much to my surprise I did "big business" today...day 3! I'm armed and ready now for clogs now though....thanks for the advice everyone.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

....I ask WHY? ......Why is there an add for Olive Garden never-ending Pasta Bowl on VST site???? WHY????

    Momma C Sleeved At 47

Congratulations Lifesaver!! Best wishes on your journey. I'll join you on August 27th!

    Overeating Help!

Remember....they operated on your stomach....not your brain! Give yourself some grace, tomorrow is a new day and you can do it!!!! My pre-surgery class instructor said "treat your new tummy as if it were newborn. Be gentle and attentive....treat it with care.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

You are awesome Klyn! .....keeping this up so soon after your surgery...very thoughtful. Thanks!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Hey futureskinnypants....so glad to see you back on here. I'm sorry you're struggling with pain management. I hope you're feeling much better today.

Having Boy Problems, I Feel Bad For You Girl...

I feel ou have a choice regarding how you react to his comments....that's in your control. However, I feel HE has a choice how he communicates to you.....it's one thing to express his concern in a loving, gentle and caring manner yet another to be condescending and rude. You most likely won't be able to change him....you just have to decide if YOU can live with him the way he is!

    Sleep Apnea

I have a friend that was sleeved in January and she didn't use her cpap at all after surgery. That seems dangerous to me. I'm at 6.0 pressure and hoping I'll get off soon after my surgery at the end of the month. I'm a stomach sleeper and soooo tired of waking up with mask marks on my face!!!
  20. Welcome Raulena! I haven't been sleeved yet but I have found this site fabulous for easing concerns. It's imperitive to have a support group when you go through a major life change like this.....and this is a terrific place to start!!! Welcome.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Congratulations! Wishing you a smooth transition home and into your new life!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Thank you so much Icandothis for sharing your experience. I still have plenty of time to imagine all sorts of things about my surgery day!...thanks for helping put my mind at ease. And CONGRATULATIONS on being officially sleeved!!!!

    Tastes Have Changed...

I've heard the same thing from my friend who is 7 months post op. She hates the taste of water now ...but unfortunately her taste for ice cream is the same!

    Kasier Permanente?

I'm with Kaiser in Northern California and it took 6 months from PCP referral to the surgery date. Considering I had to do a sleep test in the middle of it all....and start a CPAP I feel it went pretty quickly. Best wishes.

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Congratulations! So glad everything went well.
