Hi all ! I'm being sleeved August 8th, 2012 by Dr Morris Washington in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there any other august sleevers on here?

I'm 27 (almost) ---about 100-130 to lose.

Crab & Broccoli Cream of Soup

1 Can of crab meat ( I used crown Prince fancy pink, rinse it off helps take some sodium) 80 calories, 4 carbs, 14 Protein, 760 sodium

Broccoli 3 little stalks About 1/4 cup 7 calories, 1 carb, 1 protein, 7 sodium

chicken broth 1 cup (these vary so much, try to use low sodium with the granules or premade)

Skim Milk Fat Free 1 cup 90 calories, 13 carb, 8 protein, 130 sodium

White Flour 3tbs-1/4 cup ( this will add carbs so use as little as possible or use cornstarch to thicken)

100 calories (1/4 c) 23 carbs, 3 protein

but in skillet or saucepan the crab, and broccoli, with pan sprayed with olive oil brown, then add broth, and flour let simmer to thicken, then add milk and simmer some more

Put in blender and puree...(I always hold a dish towel over the lid of the blender cause the warmness can cause pressure and want to squirt it out)

about 1 1/2- 2 servings it makes

1 serving is 158 calories, 21 carbs, 16 protein, 603 sodium, this will vary depending on the broth kind y0u use.

I don't think we have to worry so much about sodium levels with all the fluids your drinking your diluting your levels which could lead to hyponatrium which could lead to seizures

I work in the health care field and see what the long term effects of obesity do to a person and their body. I want to avoid some of these complications so I'm trying to do something about it before its too late.

Klyn- Thanks for the great soup recipes. I am on liquids only for two weeks so I won't be able to puree the veggies and seafood right now but I will definitely try these out post op when I move to the full liquid state.

Leprechaun- I went ahead and ordered some unjury Protein samples and will be making my own broth and will add the unflavored Protein powder to it. I like the pic of your pup!

If you don't see your name on the list please feel free to tell me!!! Well folks, we are getting close! It's 5 days til I start the pre op diet, and 2 weeks 6 days til surgery.....YES!!!! Less than 3 weeks!!!!

Okay, so question of the day!!! My friend was going to have surgery. She ended up losing so much on pre op (33 lbs) (244-211) that she and the doctor decided she could probably get to goal herself. (plus the fact that she was terribly sick the entire time, and is allergic to the nausea patch) Anyway she didn't go through with it and now shes regretting it, a couple months later. They won't honor the price that was originally given to her. So she was considering mexico.....heres where you guys come in....a lot of you are going to mexico....the one doctor she checked with ...after the financing would have been about 8700 cash then the financing 10% and a plane ticket to get to the west coast. I saw a lot of the sleeve prices at 4400 and such, what are the prices? does your doctor do financing? How much is your TOTAL cost??? AND, non mexico sleevers......are you insurance or self pay?

I am self pay because my insurance (BCBS carefirst) wont cover it. Or DOESNT cover it. So I was lucky enough to catch a "promotion" of 8000 so they could get surgeries in to be a center of excellence. I'm traveling from new jersey to myrtle beach. its a 10 hour drive but i know it'll be worth it!!!!
