  1. I'm on it for 1 week. I have BCBS of Alabama and out of pocket it was 101.00 but my insurance would only cover it at CVS pharmacy and I only paid 10.00
  2. I'm day 5 post op and it has been harder than I'd anticipated. Just stay positive and know that in the end you won't regret this.
  3. I'm going to request lovenox if they don't prescribe it. I have a blood clotting disorder.... Factor 2. I sure don't want to have a PE!
  4. Although there is no place like home to be able to rest in your own bed.
  5. When did you have your sleeve done??? Mine is Aug 6
  6. I wouldn't recommend driving home. You will probably have pain Meds on board. Do you have someone to take you home? My concerns about broths is all the sodium. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, low sodium broth?
  7. I watched a lot of YouTube video diaries and found that to be extremely helpful in helping me decide to go with the sleeve instead of the band.
  8. I decided to tell everyone, or plan to tell everyone. So far everyone has been supportive. I have not had one person say anything negative. Even if anyone had or does in the future I really don't give a damn quite frankly! I will just say politely " we can agree to disagree" and leave it at that! But seriously the positive and support people have been the best!!
  9. I've decided to be open about it. If they don't like it then we can agree to disagree. So far I have not had any negative comments. Friends on FB have been very positive and supportive. <3
  10. I'm from Tucson. My insurance is covering my surgery. I'm going through Dr Monash. Anyone else in here from Tucson and or going through Dr Monash?
  11. Yes I've thought if only I could continue to eat and exercise I could lose this weight. But life throws curve balls and I love food and the social part that goes with eating food and for over 20 years I've not been able to stay on track other than to continue to gain and grow larger! This surgery is a tool to remind you physically you cannot eat with your eyes anymore.
  12. Found out on July 3 my insurance approved... Had my pre op appointment July 12. I should have my surgery date in a couple of days!
  13. I do have a blood cloting disorder called Factor 2. A couple years ago I developed a blood clot in my right arm. Had to give myself blood thinning shots in my stomach for 10 days. So I am going to ask about needing the lovenox shots.
  14. I don't have a surgery date yet but I had my pre op appointment July 12. I'm waiting for the scheduling lady to call me as soon as they have received my results of my sleep study which I did July 10, and my chest X-ray and EKG that I did July 12. My Dr does not require a pre op diet thank GOD! So I'm excited and just want to be sleeved already!!! My question to everyone is how much time are you taking off from work to have surgery???
  15. That's great to hear! I recently took a case management position so at least I know I won't have to be lifting or rolling anyone!
  16. Oh yes I had to have the 6 month supervised diet. I completed that June 1, 2012. I also had the psych consult, nutritionist consult. I started the process October or November 2011. I'm finally close!! Yippie!!!
  17. I have also been wanting to find out from those that have had the sleeve how long were you off from work? I don't want to miss a lot of time from work. I'd like to have my surgery on a Thursday or Friday and be able to return to work on Monday. Is that realistic?
  18. I have my pre op appointment July 12. I have BCBS of Alabama. I'm not sure yet what I will have to pay for out of pocket. But this year I signed up for the flex card for $2000. I've used it for my payments for my supervised weight loss, mine and my hubby's RX, and his glasses. I need to check and see how much I have left on it. I hope just enough to cover whatever I will owe out of pocket for my surgery!
  19. Just found out yesterday that my insurance approved me for the VSG! I just need a sleep study, which I will get scheduled on Friday. I have my pre op appointment july 12! :-D
