August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

Hi all ! I'm being sleeved August 8th, 2012 by Dr Morris Washington in Myrtle Beach SC. Is there any other august sleevers on here?

I'm 27 (almost) ---about 100-130 to lose.

Hi, I was out of town all weekend....so many posts to catch up on...

I'm married to my soul mate, have a almost 3 year old, teach kindergarten.

**this weekend I told my mother in law, brother and sister in law that I was having this surgery in a week, it surprisingly went well and they all were supportive. Now I need to decide if I'm telling my sister and best friend.

Still on liquid diet, but ate some awesome watermelon yesterday...

Hi! Please add me to the FB group. My link is www.facebook.com/cegull

I sent you a friend request. thanks! :)

WOW, I am out of the loop for a few days, and when I get back I see there are tons of new people to the group.

I want to say WELCOME to everyone who is new, and I hope you all are enjoying the thread and the great company. I can't believe how huge we have grown. I still believe we August group is going the be the biggest/busiest surgery group of the forums.

ICanDoThis, I think you have done great with your diet. I am finding myself struggling more and more. It's funny, they always say its hard to start the diet, well it was complete opposite for me, the longer I am on it, the harder it is. As far as the measurements I too forgot to do them, and yesterday Hubby and I went swimming. I put my first bathing suit on, and I was like utoh. that thing would have went floating the first dive into the pool. I had to pull out a smaller one just to feel like I could keep the girls in the the suit. When I put on my denim shorts they sagged in the front at the waist. Definitely had about 4 inches of room in my waist or more. I am ready to get this started.

I hope you have a safe trip/flight to the states. Are you able to keep in contact with us once you are in Texas?

That would be awesome if they allow you to wait til I get there. I am sure you will still be there, afterall there is only one Rosie. Unless they have other drivers. If I am not mistaken they show up at Eagle Pass Hotel like 530-6 in morning. I don't foresee anyone being shuttled to San Antonio any sooner than that. I am looking forward to meeting my Canadian friend.

I have a month to go today. Finally it's starting to get closer!

Yep Runner we have a month to go.. yay!!!!! :)

Welcome to everyone new. August has become a hot month for sleeves! Well, my date is two weeks from today. I can't believe it! I took measurements on Saturday, so I will be able to check on progress in that area. Since starting my pre-pre-op diet last Monday, I have been able to get into a couple pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear since last fall, so that was really nice. I just generally feel better. I think I lost about 7 pounds so far. I guess on someone who's only 5', 7 lbs. makes a big difference! ;) Since I don't have to start my pre-op diet until this Friday, I chose to eat a meal with my family yesterday before taking two of my kids to camp, since we won't be doing it again for several weeks from now. I planned it out ahead of time by using MFP to track everything ahead of time. I really tried to do a good job, but went way over my budget of calories, etc., BUT it was no where near as bad as it would've been prior to starting this journey. I didn't just say "to heck with it" and eat whatever I wanted. I made a couple of food choices, and then got right back to doing what I need to do. I also didn't do sugar or anything like that, so that is a HUGE victory for me. This morning, I did wake up feeling a little defeated, but instead of giving into that, I went right back to my plan and continued on. This is so different for me, that I almost feel like a different person, making a much better choice.

Anyway, thanks for letting me share all of that.

excited, I get to meet Stacey

Me too, Klyn!

I was so busy at work today all I had time for was a quick trip around the corner to Taco Bell. And of course one item wasn't enough, I had to add a few more things, and when I asked for a diet pepsi, I got a regular by accident. I didn't blink twice while devouring it all. An hour later, I feel like a giant fat failure. Lord knows I need to eat, but I hate how hungry I am, and how I'm a bottomless pit at times. The next 18 days could not go by fast enough. I'm tired of doing well in every other aspect of my life and feeling like a failure because of food!!!! :/

My default mode when I fail with food is to beat myself up and throw in the towel, and it only leads further down the wrong path for me. Do you have a plan right now? Are you on pre-op yet? If so, just refocus and realize that the past is gone, and you have your future to look forward to. If you don't have a pre-op plan, maybe borrow one from one of the other folks here, just so you can have the confidence of knowing what food choices you are making each day.

<<HUGS>>

the easiest thing for this is to pre package...what I mean is to do what Tosca Reno of clean eating says....package your meals and add extra incase you are hungry and take it with you...a days good food....or shakes whatever you are eating worth in a lunch pack...then all you have to do is open a container and not think about it....

if you have what you need you do not need to go to a fast food place...hugs

Because my BMI isn't over 35 they aren't making me do the pre-op liquid diet which is nice, the downside is that I have insulin and blood sugar issues because of my PCOS and a couple of other complicating factors- if I don't eat steadily I get the sweats, shaking, and severe stomach cramps. By the time I realize how bad I am, I always end up binge eating. I'm the typical "you need to eat protein every 2 hours and track your food" type, but even when I've been extremely careful and watchful I still over eat.

I loathe myself when I go over board and half the time I'm trying to do, or eat the right thing. A lot of this also has to do with the fact that I'm an athlete so my brain thinks I need 3000 to 5000 calories a day, even when I'm not training as hard when I'm in my off season (during the Fall I swim 4 to 6 hours a day and in the Spring 2 to 4 hours a day). Right now I'm barely getting any exercise compared to what I normally get, and a month out from starting to train again but my body still wants to eat like I'm training hard core. My body is bi-polar! :/
