Just got back from my first post-op Doctor visit and all is going well, I'm down 11lbs from 240 in a week yay me... He started me on mushy foods today for 3weeks.

Today is my 1 week post-op. I go to the Dr's tomorrow to see how I'm progressing and see if i lost any weight. I'm so looking forward to eating mushy foods, tired of clear liquids..LOL

Hi runner! Glad to hear you're doing well. I've been lucking not to have any of the problems some are/were having. Just a lttle gas the first night and a little pain where they took my stomach out at. I'm resting and walking. Take care !

Yep runner its our turn. i have to be at the hospital at 5:30a. i cant go to sleep!!

Ms. Shayrec i'm also having surgery on 8/30 and I'm a day before you Ms. evenay0623. My nerves have really started kicking in.. Good Luck to you both and i wish you both a speedy recovery.

I know how you are feeling runner. . I have someone coming to clean my place the day before surgery because I want it extra extra extra clean, not saying i can't do it, I just don't want to!!!! lol My nerves have kicked in.....

Pre-Op doctor's visit was yesterday. My starting weight was 250lbs and my current weight is 240lbs. Surgeon talk to me about what to expect and also what could go wrong. At first my nerves weren’t bothering me but after the doctor's visit they are a little shaky. I know they will get worse by next Wednesday night and probably will be off the scale come day of surgery Thursday. Since I had my gallbladder removed yearssss ago, he expects me to some scar tissue that he will have removed. Didn’t have to do a pre-op diet so I guess that’s a good thing but overall, I'm doing well. Surgeon told me that I would be on clear liquids for a week and then move to the next stage. He told me to focus on getting the liquids and vitamins in and purchase the protein that you sprinkle over your food and to make sure that I purchased the right protein products as quite a few on the market have a bunch of calories contained in them. I'm looking forward to August 30th, I'm ready to start being and feeling a lot healthier.. 7 more days until surgery! YAY!!!

Thank you! I'm getting excited, I've just been trying to stay busy and not think about it to much. My doctor does not require a pre op but i've been doing my own and I can't tell you if I lost weight because i refuse to get on the scale. I will know the truth this Wednesday when i have my pre-op appointment. That's probably when the nerves will take over.. LOL... As for as purchasing anything major just the normal things for my hospital stay. I hope your decisions goes by fast maybe they'll surprise you and give you a decision one day this week coming.. Hello thetruedream.. My surgery isn't until 30Aug, I don't know how much its going to cost. I won't see the bill until after my insurance pays. Good luck with your journey

I have FEP BCBS Basic and my paperwork was submitted on June 25th and I was approved on June 29th. I could have had surgery in July but i opted to have it on Aug 30. If your paperwork has already been submitted, my suggested would be to call and ask the status.. Good Luck !

Hi, Welcome & Congratulations Krystal24!! August 30th is my day in Houston TX... There is a group called "August Sleevers?! Where Ya's at?" you might be interested in joining. They are a wonderful bunch of ladies and quite a few have already had their surgeries yesterday and the day before. Good luck to you..
