  3. Thank you! I'm getting excited, I've just been trying to stay busy and not think about it to much. My doctor does not require a pre op but i've been doing my own and I can't tell you if I lost weight because i refuse to get on the scale. I will know the truth this Wednesday when i have my pre-op appointment. That's probably when the nerves will take over.. LOL... As for as purchasing anything major just the normal things for my hospital stay. I hope your decisions goes by fast maybe they'll surprise you and give you a decision one day this week coming.. Good luck!!

  9. I also have FEP BCBS. I started the process on March 22nd and completed all requirements on June 22nd. my paper work was submitted on June 25th and I was approved for surgery on June 29th. That's only 4 days!! I was totally in shock when I received the call from my coordinator telling me I had been approved so fast. I could have had surgery in July but I choose to have it on Aug 30th.
  10. Congrats Babyblues4all2c, Polandspring & NCsleever63!! Good luck on your journey..
  11. Just like smithpy stated “it is okay to go below but not way below”. It's more like they want to see that you've tried to lose the weight under the supervision of a nutritionist. I only lost 12lbs in 3mos.. smh.. I really was trying but I have a love, hate relationship with anything that is made of chocolate.. I just couldn't seem to give him up during that time... LOL You will do just fine and get your approval..
  12. Hi! I have Federal BCBS and that was also my major concern being denied. I do have a co-morbidity (high blood pressure) and my starting BMI was 40.1 but has since went down with losing some weight during the 3mos nutritionist visits. My coordinator stated to me that she wouldn’t submit my paperwork for approval until she made sure all I’s were dotted and T’s were crossed. I was approved very quickly! Paperwork submitted on June 25th and approved on June 29th.
  13. Thank you NDN_RN... Good luck to you too
  14. Yep! Aug 30th...I'm so looking forward to it..
  15. You are welcome! I completed all the requirements from both insurance and surgeon office on June 21 and my paperwork was submitted to FedBCBS on June 25, they approved my surgery on June 29th. My nuts visits where not with a preferred provider she was a participating provider and my doctor's office wrote off all visits. Actually with surgeon I’m seeing I've only paid one time which was my initial visit and my psych visit cost me $35.00, so far I have came out on top.
