  1. I was approved by FEP BCBS!! My paperwork was sent in for approval on June 25th and they approved my surgery on June 29th.. I am so darn happy!!! Being that I don't want surgery until next month, pre-op is schedule for Aug 22 and surgery is Aug 30.. July was my last holiday to eat whatever I wanted. Labor holiday I will be a newer, healthier me... Working on NO MORE BP pills...
  2. I have FEP Basic and I just finished up all the requirements, which included 3 nut visits
  3. I also have basic bcbs fep and was wondering how much i would have to pay out of pocket. Having to pay nothing out of pocket would be great, but paying $450.00 is not bad at all. . I have my last nut visit this month and then it's off to the insurance company for approval. Not wanting to have surgery until the end of Aug which gives my doctor's office wiggle room to get the date I want, Aug 30th. Good luck to all of you..
  4. Which BCBS FEP do you all have? Standard or Basic?
  5. I have the Basic (no surgery date yet), 3 Nut visit (total of 4, including 1st one) Nut visit 3 on May 24, 1 psych visit, Stress Test, Echo and a slu of lab work.
  6. Yes he is and she is right.. You will be just fine.. Sending prayers up for Mrs. KC who's having surgery. God of power and might please be with Mrs. KC during gastric sleeve surgery tomorrow. Her body is your creation, O Lord. Guide the surgeon’s hand that changes it, that it might heal and function better, to your great glory. Amen Take care and keep us posted... Kim
  7. Mrs. KC, you and Artsy have dates for surgery already and I still have 2more nut visits to complete before I can even think about getting sleeved.. Good luck to both of you ladies, I'll see you on losers bench when I get there.. Keep us posted on how things went. You're in my prayers.
  8. Good luck to both of you ladies !!!
  9. Hi all! I had my second Nutrition visit today with Dr. Marvin’s office (went from 250 to 244 yay me!) But the Nutritionist told me that the blood work came back, some good some bad. The bad is I need to go and give the lab some more of my blood, ugh! I hate when they draw blood cause I have small veins, (sorry off subject). They need blood for Protein, C, S and At III, Factor V Leiden, Lupus Anticoagulation and Anticardiolipin Ab IGA/IGG/IGM which all means they need to know once I have surgery if they need to give me additional blood thinners because of blood clots. The good is very thing else is good to go. She also stated that I needed an stress test and an Echo both of which I have already had, so that’s just a matter of providing her with the doctor’s offices who performed the test. Other than that, all is well and I'm on schedule. Just wanted to share with you all ..
  10. Mine was $35.00 and i wasn't even in there a full hour.
  11. Artsy.. Don't know about the sleep study but for the psych eval if you go see Dr. Vikram Mehra he is so hilarious. I felt very comfortable chatting with him.. Here's my email addy kimmyiet@gmail.com.. look forward to chatting with you soon.. That is so funny Mrs. KC, who would have thought... LOL
  12. I had my psych evaluation yesterday with Dr. Vikram Mehra (Houston TX) and boy was i nervous going into his office. Dr. Mehra called me into his office and immediately he was happy and very cheerful. He was so uplifting and excited about me wanting to have this surgery. So with being said he gave me the green to go for surgery (yay). I have completed all test and evals, now i have only have the next 3 nutrition (2nd one Apr 24) visit to complete. I would like to wish you the best of luck Little Bits and you will do fine.. Kimmyiet
  13. Hi Artsy… No surgery for me yet! I'm going thru my insurance (bcbs fep) and I have to participate in at least 3 mos medically supervised weight loss program which includes nutritional counseling and psychological clearance which I have scheduled for Monday April 9th.So, after all is said and done I'm hoping of green to go because I'm really tired of feeling and looking this way. Tameki is also my case manager and she is such a doll.. Are you self-pay or going thru insurance?
  14. Hi Mrs. KC, That's funny. If you didn't know it was there as you already know, you wouldn't see it. LOL... That test I'm can say I tested negative for, I was glad to hear that. So now I'm on to starting this diet thing again. Ugh!!!
  15. Hi besquared1426, After filling out the initial paper work, I first spoke with my case manager and she went over the insurance requirements and other reading, signature required material. Then the nurse came in to do an EKG, once she left the doctor (not the surgeon) came in and talked to me about my weight and the problem I was having with it. She asked a bunch of health questions and gave me a nutrition plan and ways to help drop the weight because bcbs fep requires it before surgery. She told me that I have to come back 3 times for the next 3 months to weight in. Once that was completed the same nurse who performed the EKG came back with the lab requirements list and place to go do the lab work. Once all that was done I was good to go back to work! Ugh!! Because I have high blood pressure I'm required to do a stress test by my cardiologist and since I just had an EDG done in Nov 2011, I can skip that part and obtain the test from my gastroenterology. And no I didn’t meet with Dr. Marvin today.
  16. Hi all, I had my consult visit today with Dr. Marvin here in Houston TX. I was so nervous this morning that I passed up his office twice trying to locate it. Once I was inside the ladies in his office made me feel a lot better. I have BCBS FEP and they require a 3 month weight loss plan plus a psych visit. Some the requirements/labs that are needed by his office I don't have to go through because I just had a complete overhaul done in Nov 2011 and they could use those test, which is a good thing. I have a positive attitude about the whole process. Just wanted to share to story with you all because either you're going through or have already been through it. Thanks for listening/reading.. kimmyiet
