  3. When all there is are carbs fats and proteins and the protein is half of total ... The other two make up the other half no? Keeping fats to a minimum means the rest will be carbs especially if you need fiber!! The trick is to get good carbs like fruit and veggies not sugar:-) so yes.... 40-60 is fine!!!
  4. R u using gas-x? It helped me:-)
  5. I'm there now at 2 months... But am ok with that if it stays steady... The more you have to lose the more dramatic at first but after you are about half way to goal it slows down. Pros to this are it gives the skin a chance to adjust ... Not so much saggy baggy:-)

  9. I don't think an average of ten pounds a month is bad..... In fact it's probably healthier!!! Hang in there!
  10. I was told it was fine to take non- coated pills smaller than a dime... But just take your lortab!!! Also be sure you are getting your fluids. Good luck!
  11. I had this problem too post-op and in fact continue to if I do not stay on top of it. Do talk with your surgeon and do not let yourself get impacted.... It is too uncomfortable and can be dangerous! People mistakenly think since they r on liquids they shouldn't have bms but you will still make stool .. It is the waste from all your intake. Protein shakes can be very constipating for some and the lack of fiber slows down all digestion in the beginning. My doc suggested Senna tablets till I am eating more. It helps!!!
  12. You look fantastic!!! Keep it up girl!!! Congratulations!

  16. Hypothyroidism is an endocrine disease that contributes to obesity because the thyroid regulates the rate of our metabolism...( how we burn calories...etc). The symptoms you listed are typical but don't think you didn't need the surgery. Taking thyroid medication will help you regulate your metabolism but in the morbidly obese this rarely contributes to much weight loss. In fact those on thyroid medication most often still have the weight gain and yearly creep as they age. Getting thinner however will help your Hypothyroidism and all other body systems ! Hope this helps!!
  17. Best of luck to all of you! You can do this!! Sip sip sip walk walk walk.. And let us know your status ASAP!!!
  18. My surgeon says use ice packs as long as you can... At least a couple weeks... To help swelling. The post op diet he uses doesn't graduate you to real food just advancing liquids clear then full then puréed for 7 weeks. He does this to assure healing and help with swelling and bruising... Hope at helps,
