I have 9 gmail invites I can give out. If anyone wants one, let me know. (Be sure to include an email to send the invite too.) If you don't know what it is, go to www.gmail.com. (Gmail will be free to everyone, eventually, the advantage to getting an invite now is that you have a better chance of getting whatever username you want -- plus you get to use it earlier than everyone else =) I get absolutely nothing for giving them to you.) 4. First of all, I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and Happy New Year!!! I have been having acid reflux lately and have woke up several time coughing on my spit or something that came up in the middle of the night. So yesterday, I was eating lunch and my food came right back up....I was eating little pieces of creamy chicken. So after that I went to CVS pharmacy and picked my up some Maalox, and I took 1 tsp with a sip of tea and about 20 minutes after that...it came back up. About an hour later I had to go and PB my spit. So, I called my Dr's office and he is out of town for 2 weeks. They told me to go on liquids for 5 days to see if it helps. No back up Dr arou…

I thought this would be a fun thread to share stupid things we've done. I'll start by telling you that I have an unusal amount of stories that involve laundry and laundramats (thank God I finally own my own washer and dryer.) Many moons ago, I loaded the public washers at my apartment with everything me and my boyfriend owned. I went back 30 minutes later and put Bounce sheets and quarters in the dryers, then left during the dry cycle. A half hour later I went back to add more quarters cuz I really jammed those machines full. When I went back to fold, all our clothes were gone, every last stitch. My violent-natured boyfriend was going to hammer down every door in t…

I just got back from the Doctor, I got my second fill. He took me from 1.5cc to 1.75cc. While I was there I ask him about the coffee and erison. He said coffee WILL NOT cause erison. I was happy to hear that! I have been drinking it all the time, even in the hospital. I lost 4 pounds since I was there last (Dec.) and he was happy about that, he said anyone that can lose 4 pounds over the holidays is doing something right. So, all of you that lost weight over the holidays can be proud of yourself

It's that time of year again and since I've been home sick, I've been taking advantage of the time to try to get my things together regarding medical expenses and possible deductions. I recall Marie posted a url in the past regarding those deductions but couldn't find it on a search, so here is the IRS one: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc502.html Things are so much easier these days. All I have to do is go online to get anything I want. All my medication copays are right there ready to be printed off at Walgreens.com, my online banking is downloaded into MS Money, so I could just pull up reports for the 'healthcare' category or go through each payee and pull up reports …

Mike and I have been married for 15 loooong years. We were 19 when were married. We came from different religions, different cultures, different backgrounds - my mother said it would only last 1 year, 2 at the most! I confessed to him later in life that at 19 I only married him to get out of my abusive alcoholic dad's home.... he understood. Weve been though the normal events that stress a marriage; job loss, the raising of 3 kids, numorous surgeries, moving, the near death experience of our 9yr old (that was at the hands of Mike), and of coarse, always being broke...... Lastnight we were able to "get away" and go to a restaurant - ALONE :eek ! At the resta…

She was at the top of her class with grades and has some of the highest scores in the nation. She is going into Ear/Nose/Throat Surgery. She wants to be able to help fix those people that are really messed up or born with defects. She will be great at it too! I am so proud of her that I am just busting and had to tell someone!

I was kicking around the idea about putting together an annual celebration of the banned ones. Heres the thought; a nice conference center in a nice hotel in Southern Michigan. I would ask the guest speakers to adress the gathering, possibly a rep from Inamed, I asked my Doctor (Dr. Boutt) to speak and he liked the idea(he even named it BANDSTOCK). He agreed to speak to us, perhaps a Psychologist to address the changing dynamics of weight loss and those around us. Maybe, dinner at one of the nice resturants in the area. I was thinking early next summer (poss. middle or late June) I want this to grow into something we can be proud of a celebration of the positive choices w…

We grew up poor. Our Christmases were never about the presents, there was no giant windfall of brightly wrapped gifts under our scruffy little tree. But it's lights, though few, shone with angelic brilliance, and what little fruit it did bear, meager as it was, seemed to be the bounty of kings. This was because of my Mother, a woman who knew how to keep Christmas, and how to keep it well. All of Santa's gifts to me were hand made. Some were just for fun, but most were practical, and just what I needed at the time. He always knew when I needed more warm socks and gloves. And he seemed to manifest a muffler just as my old one wore out. Now as I look back I re…

If you wonder why people sometimes seem unreasonable or edgy, maybe this will give you some insight. Monday, 9:10 PM: Patty falls, bumping her head and using her arms to break her fall. Bad idea with the right arm. Re-injures and flares up RSD. Ambulance comes as she is unable to get up even with my help. So what are your aspirations for the upcoming year? How do you feel about the year that's just behind us? Those of you who are banded, did you set time-directed goals for weight loss? And if so, did you meet them? My goals for the year are go find a job I love (and pediatrics ain't it) and to get the band. Hopefully obtaining goal nu…

Wow, life sure does have a way of keeping us hopping! The last month has been a rollercoaster of family and household hassles, some small and some not so small. Here's my tale of woe: The day before Thanksgiving I hit a deer with my car, which resulted in the deer bouncing happily away but not before doing $1500 worth of damage to my car. A week in the shop, a week's rental car, and it's nice and shiny again. So two days after the body work was done, the clutch goes out completely. Naturally, this is not related to the deer collision, so won't be covered by insurance. Another week in the shop, another rental, and another $1500. :rolleyes Early in the months my husban…
