Just kidding. I got my surgery date today. I'm so excited. I feel very in control and looking forward to using my new tool in this crazy WL journey, May 3 will be tyhe first day of the rest of my life. :cool: OK it's really happening for me. The insurance hasn't been submitted and I am a bit nervous, but the office and MD said they have never had a case from my ins. that was denied. Its a PPO and approval take a day or two. So here I am celebrating and not worring about it like a good little girl.

My closet has shirts and dresses from size xl to 26. At this point in my weight loss, its time for me to clean it out... cant wear 3/4's of it! Now, Im NOT a sentimental person, but I am poor - and clothes are expensive! So in the back of my mind I keep thinking that I need to bag these things that are too big and store them - dont get rid of any of it - because my band may break, erode, slip - whatever my mind can think of - ultimately gaining this weight back and THEN having no clothes to wear. Anyone else going through this?

OK I am in Clarksville / Nashville area visiting friends, family and attending a conference in Atlanta this month. My best friend for about 12 years now lives in the area. I just got back from a kick ass night out on the town with my girlfriend and her sister and her boyfriend. We went to this bar that has two floors. The lower floor is redneck as can be. Complete with line dancing and cowboys and girlfriends all in boots and fringe shirts. We played several games of pool and drank several drinks there. I'm sitting at my desk staring at my wedding ring as it slowly slides around my finger. The diamond won't stay in place any more. It slides to the underside of my hand where my palm is. I spin the ring so the diamond is on top again, then watch it slide down. I've watched it 10 times already in complete amazement. I had to smear lotion all over my hand then struggle to get my ring off before my Band surgery. Now I have to wear the diamond on the inside of my palm because my ring is too big. Looks like I'm just wearing gold bands. Fascinating. Having my wedding ring sized down simply doesn't compute. Wild.

Jenna's DH didn't actually win the powerball, it was an April Fools joke we all fell for! Okay, Jenna's DH just won $50,000. And it got me thinking, how would I use that money? I have a big psychology exam in the morning and I'm TERRIFIED! it's now 12.50 at night and eventually I'm off to bed! Have spent the last few days studying madly! I am applying to a university to do a degree this year - it's free to go to college in Ireland, but places are very difficult to get! There are over 250 mature students (!) applying for only 5 places in this college and I REALLY WANT A PLACE!!! I've been boycotting them for years and write them nasty letters when they send me cataloges because they don't cater to plus size (uh, REAL) women. So I have this fantasy, kinda a Pretty Woman scene. I spend hours with the sales clerk at Vicky's Secret selecting thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Then, after they ring up the purchase, I tell them I changed my mind and make them back off the entire sale." Ok, I have to share this with someone that would understand what a big step this was for me. I went for my last appointment with the surgeon yesterday and I expressed by what if I fail concerns with him. We talked for ahile and I was reassured I have every opportunity to succeed at this as anyone. The line that struck me was - We'll (the MD staff) will be there with you every step of the way on your weight loss journey even at 3 am. You'll never be able to forget we are in this toegether once you have the surgery - OK a little corny - but it worked for me. I had my first consultation with Dr. Spivak.......what a cutie! ANYHOO-I was told that I needed pre-op weight loss to shrink my liver prior to surgery. I was only told low carb- I do not know what in detail this means. Can someone direct me as to what I should and shouldn't be eating prior to lap band so that I can shrink the ole liver- dont want my liver quivering (ha) Thanks ahead of time for the replies.

Well.....just had my administrator sign my extended 1 year leave of absence so I can embark on a new adventure! I will be working for Hynix Semiconductor Manufacturing. I've worked in an office sitting on my butt waaaaaaayyy too long. Now I will be suiting up in a clean suit (they call it a bunny suit....but it looks like a space suit). I will be working in the manufacturing of Dynamic Random Access Memory or DRAM. Anyway, it's a total change of pace for me and I'm very excited. Will start April 25th for a week orientation and then will find out my shift. They work 12 hour shifts, 3 days on-4 days off, then the next week, 4 days on-3 days off. Anyway, just wante…

I Have Been Ablle To Eat Alot, Even After Adjustments Has Anyone Had This Problem

Well.. going now on day 5 of my female dogs heat cycle I have decided that there is no such thing as sexual frustration for males or females of the human race. The true frustration is in my poor baby boy (dog) who can't stand that his woman is locked up so he can't knock her up. I have *never* experienced this so BAD before!! I am usually seen in any combination of three clothing styles: Pajamas (most fave) Jeans and a sweater (school, and errands) uniform scrubs So today, I got an invite from MY DOCTOR! who hosts a formal dinner dance each year! It says formal on the invite and my husband owns a tux, so his part is easy-- what should I wear? What would YOU wear? As you can see from above, I have NO style, so any suggestions are appreciated! BUT......how did you explain your Band surgery to your children? My children are ages 5 (daughter) and 2 (son), and my daughter thinks I'm going to California to get a belly tuck. ??????? I have obviously not had a good conversation with her and she has certainly been listening. Any advice? Even if your kids aren't, or weren't, the same age, all info is good for researchers. Did pretty good through Valentines, even handeling the day today candy cravings. But here comes Easter. And I LOVE Easter candy. My favorites are the little Hershey pb eggs... my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Actually any of the soft stuff is worthy of entering my mouth. And its only gonna get worst, Sunday hasnt gotten here yet! Well, between yesterday and today my kids have brought home 3 baskets of junk candy. I cant seem to AVOID those baskets. The very best gift I ever received was getting back my sense of humor. In my early 20’s I was working this terrible job where I had to work 2 graveyard shifts, 2 swing shifts and a day every week. After about 6 months of this I completely lost my sense of humor. I mean, NOTHING was funny. At all. I quit that job, and it took me a few weeks to find a new job. The new one I landed was all graveyards, and I actually grabbed the dishwasher by his apron lapel and demanded that he keep me awake. (I was a short order cook…) He was the funniest person I think I’ve ever known, and he gave me back my sense of humor. So, what is your best gift ever?

Over Christmas break, my son and I discovered that not everybody has a radio in their head. We had always taken it for granted that other people can just normally “listen” to music even when nothing external is playing. It’s like an internal soundtrack I guess. Music is very, very important to me. Here’s an example of what I mean about my head-radio: One morning, I’d been listening to Rammstein while working on my math homework. I get ready for my afternoon class on autopilot. This means putting books in bag, and getting my mp3 player, PDA, and stuff like that. Has anyone had the experience of the relationship with your group of friends changing? My friends are mostly the aquaintences I have had for years that I went out to eat with all of the time and we revolved everything around eating. Ex: We're going shopping, where do you wanna stop to eat?, We are going to have a Garage sale, who is supplying the lunch?, We are getting together to watch TV, who has the DP's and Snacks? My life revolved so much around food. When we go out we drink and eat or did at least before my band.
