Winter weather is rearing it's ugly head here... tis coooooold! I've been trying to keep my hands out of the cookie jar by quilting and so far it's working by gosh! I'm like a little kid wanting my drawing put up on the fridge... I'm still a newbie at quilting but I'm proud of my latest quilt! It's warm and soft and cushy... just like my man.

The last thing Vegas needs is a new buffet, but they just opened a new Brazilian one up. The picture of roasted steak has been passed around on flyers long enough, so I broke down and went. GOOD NEWS! THE PLACE SUCKS! Whew, don't gotta worry no more! I'm bored & needed a new thread. What's everyone doing this weekend?

Had my stress test today. They shaved my chest, four little round holes. They dry shaved it. Ouch. Then the woman used real, honest to goodness sandpaper on my four bare spots. Ouch. Then she poured alchohol on the four red, tender, sanded, bare spots. Ouch! B-tch! Then the other woman was stupid enough to ask me why my heart rate suddenly spiked up by twenty beats a minute. They hooked me up to wires and made me walk on a treadmill that inclined more and went faster until I was afraid I was gonna die. Then they increased the incline and the speed until I was afraid I WASN'T gonna die. I seem to recall hearing the Doc say it was all good, but I was whee…

Hi everyone.. I am getting banded 11/11. Yes, in one week..I am incredibly psyched . The instructions for all patients of my doctor is 2 weeks pre-op on liquids- I am doing Ultra Slim Fast shakes which are actually OK, Crystal Lite, some chicken broth..Actually we are allowed to eat vegetables -raw or steamed with mustard or just vinegar... This is really hard , yet somehow very empowering..I have not been perfect- have cheated twice but have still lost 12-13lbs in 6 days ..Both cheats have been breakfast time when I ran into a local eatery and scarfed down some eggs on a roll...Overall I've been OK... I want to do the last week right and go into my surgery with the bes…

I did talk to my GP and he said that with my blood condition it would be easy to Creatively mark it up to make it look like a diet program...I had my best blood test ever last month too!!! Plus, the fact that I have been on Xenical and Meridia for a couple years helps too. I know that it is wrong but, so is making me jump through hoops that I can't get through because I am to fat!@!@! Review committee my butt!!! What is a committee? A group of the unwilling, picked from the unfit, to do the unnecessary. Thanks to all of you for your input!!! __________________

I am trying to get the approval to be banded. I think that I am going to get the run around. Has anyone had to do a 12 week supervised diet? To be approved for surgery. Now there are telling me that I have to have a Psyche Eval. I am going to have to change my life, I am going to have to control my eating,,,, NO SHIT! I would not be doing this if I could be trusted around food!! My stomach is like a dog, if it is not on a leash it will run and run and run........... They are also trying to tell me that my BMI has to be over 40. when I am at 37.8 right now. I think that this is going to turn into a horror story, maybe I should just give up.

All my life back to childhood, I can remember having an inner turmoil about my weight. I've always been at odds with myself, I would try to feel good about myself, but my weight problem reared it ugly head. Then I would feel bad, blaming myself for the weight. Why couldn't I control myself, why do people make little comments, that hurt so much. I don't know about women, but guys can be down right cruel. The word "BIG" came before everything. I was called "BIG Lyle" all thru school, which was better than fat. Sometimes, I fought back, sometimes I just took it. No one knows the pain (mentally, sometimes physically) that someone with a weight problem goes through, but I know …

Just for the record: The people I've found here make all those fat years worth it. Now, not only do I feel good about my future. I feel a heck of a lot better about my past. Thank you.

The alarm rang at 3:00 A.M. today. It's on the other side of the room so that I must throw off the warm covers and let the morning chill help to pull me up through the thick gravy of sleep to the waking world. The alarm rings a little longer these days since I've gained forty odd pounds in the last year. I staggered to Patty's room (yes we have separate rooms, my sleep apnea noises keep her awake, and there just isn't room for her hospital bed plus the twin in either of our tiny bedrooms.) and gently kissed her awake. She was a bundle of nerves. She got her bath and got dressed. At 4:30 A.M. her Mom pulled into the drive. Then I kissed her goodbye and watched…

Hi all-- I was just wondering, since i had read that some of you experience varying degrees of restriction during your periods....is it just coincidental that I switched from Premarin (a pill that I couldn't take crushed--soooo terrible tasting) --which I was hardly taking --to Climara patch and now I am having trouble with stuff getting stuck? My imagination? I haven't had a fill yet.

  26. OK when will this end?!!! I just got a call from my mom. My aunt, her sister, just passed away. I am frantically making flight arrangements, hotel arrangements, and car rentals arrangements. SIGH!! Seems I just got back from a trip for a funeral in September when my step-father's dad passed away. Now, my aunt died. It was unexpected and rather shocking to hear. She was in her late 70's and in poor health but she passed away in the ER tonight. It was not expected. I already said that didn't I? SIGH!! So if you don't hear from me for a day or two that is why. I am taking my laptop but not sure how much I will be using it. I can already feel the love coming th…

Has this ever happened to anyone else? When I'm confronted with an intense or annoying smell for any length of time, it sort of repeats on me for days or weeks. The first time it happened, I'd smell this weird sort of medicinal smell in a fleeting way, several times a day, for a couple of weeks. I didn't know what it was or what was going on, until I went back into a store I'd visited only once before and realized what I'd been re-experiencing was that store's version of aromatherapy. That was an unusual thing, in that I couldn't identify the smell so I couldn't figure out even what the reference was. Once I figured it out, the recurrences stopped. It's like a sense-memor…

Since it looks like my surgery will go off on time I had a hard decision to make. Today I put my bike up for the winter. Earlier than ever before. She needs new tires, and an oil change and the headlight is out, plus one of the running lights is cracked by a stone peck. It just makes sense to do it. New tires now, to sit in the frozen garage all winter, plus new oil to do the same. And I still have all my other winterizing to do. Put air conditioners away, weatherstrip, caulk, rake, deal with Patty's flowers, the lawn mower, the storms. So I washed the Roadie. I dried her and eased her into the garage. I promised her I would come out and visit during the winte…

My back hurts, so do my ribs, feet, ankles, arthritic carpal tunnel hands, and I have a splitting headache. I'm tired. I want to eat gooey sweet crap. My job is boring. I miss my friends. Hmmm... this is depressing me. It's not as fun as I thought it would be.

Oh My Gawd!!! How - and when - did this happen?? Where did all the years go? My baby turned 16 today. I remember bringing him from the hospital! Today, he took his road test, passed that with flying colors and then we spent a fun filled hour at the DMV getting him his license. Since it is his birthday, I thought it would be nice if I could take him and a couple of his friends to dinner - who was I kidding. As soon as we got back from the DMV, he dropped me off and was out and about with his friends. Two other friends drive so they went to a restaraunt with a whole passel of 'em in tow.
