I had my fill a couple of weeks ago and I thought I felt it. Dr. Rodriguez said I was swollen so he put in 2cc instead of the 4 he planned. Boy am I glad that he did. Today I was out to lunch with my co workers at Wendy's and I ordered the kid's meal. cheese burger and manderine oranges (I love that they do that now instead of fries you have a choice) and I have forced myself to eat slowly (finally) but I could not get it down. Two bites and I was through. I waited and waited and I knew if I took another bite up it would come. But I wasn't hungry anyway so I stopped. Hi everyone, Today I was informed after waiting a week to hear from my insurance company that they did not RECIEVE anything. My doctor's office said they would re-fax everything this afternoon. The doctor's called and they said they recieved and for us to call them in 5 working days, which would be next Friday. The only problem is that I'm under the gun and need to have the surgery done by the end of the month, due to insurance reason. I guess what pissed my off was that I feel I wasted a week on waiting to hear from the insurance company, only to find out they (claimed) they did not have it. So it's been 10 weeks since I started this journey! I have been stuck at the same amount of weight but now worries because I have been feeling the loosining of my clothes and shoes...(now I thought that was weird) anyhoo. Last thursday was girls night out and I don't know what possesed me. I pulled out the leopard print dress that was my favorite boogies dress before I met my hubbie. Since I met and married my husband it has not fit. But I was feeling good so I put it on. I zipped.... and zipped and thought wow it fits! So I had to share. Hi! I have my first fill on Saturday. I was banded on July 26th in the States, but I live overseas in Shanghai, China. I have to go to Hong Kong to get my fill from a doctor who is not very experienced with giving fills. He has had training, but I have to be honest that I am a little nervous. Any advise to help calm my nerves?

Forty Three years ago, a nine year old boy was put in a prison of his own making. It was that year that I started getting fat. My prison bars were soft, and warm, and they grew in strength every year. I tried to break out when I was 13. I tried to tunnel through my prison walls of fat with a 1000 calorie diet. But the security was too good, and the walls came back, thicker and stronger than ever. I tried to escape numerous times since then. But to no avail. At 5:00 a.m. tomorrow we'll be waking up our sleepyheads and loading them into the car for the long drive to the Cape. In this rented house there is only one TV and no computer. The horrors!! How primitive!! Really, I think this will be the longest I've been away from a computer in one stretch since, oh, 1985. I hope I survive! Have a wonderful week everyone, and stay healthy!! OK I am going on Vacation beginning August 27th through Sept 7th and might not visit the site as much during that time. I will have my laptop with me but won't be on it too much. Oh and the 5th of Sept is my birthday so I am gonna Celebrate all night long in Jamaica. LOL!! I am heading to Nashville, TN for the first 4 days to visit my Mom, daughter, grandkids and friends. I wanted to order a wig from a company called Wigsalon.I found the site on the internet.Has anyone heard of this company?It's in Florida,miami. The reason i ask is because when i called it sounded like a homemade message and then i sent an email and got a response in only a few minutes.No one returned my ealier call though. I took my 3 year old daughter to school for the frist time today. She looked so cute with her little back pack and lunch box. It just broke my heart. She is my reason for getting banded. I don't want to be a fat mother that she will be embarrassed by at school. I remember when I was little my mother was always beautiful, (she has never had a weight problem) when she would come and get us she always looked better than a lot of kids moms. I want my daughter to be proud of me. I am already old, 45 and I don,t want to be fat too. I also want to be thin so I will stay healthy for her. Suddenly, lots of Curves franchises have sprung up all over Ireland, and there is one about 30 minutes from my house, not exactly convenient but there all the same! I belong to a really good gym, and am happy enough there, but often find it hard to stay motivated, and actually working hard there, instead of sneaking off to the jacuzzi/sauna/steam room - (going by the theory that it all counts, as long as you're on gym premises!!!) - my question is, is Curves worth it? What are your experiences? Ok, this is really weird. I have no idea what is going on with my band! I had a fill put in about 3 months ago, 2.5cc. Was a bit tight and since it was hard to eat much, I ate what I could, which was of course crap. Then I went on vacation and had my calories in liquid form of frozen drinks but I was always able to eat at dinner. Then somehow magically my restriction eased. Mind you, I lost almost nothing. Came back from vacation and went to see my doctor and we put .25cc in. Week later restriction kicked in and I couldn't do it. Went to take some out. So I should have had 2.75cc in, right? No. Barely 2.25cc. Took out .25, left me with 2cc. This was last Monday. Today I w…

2 months gastric lap band and am not sure what i should be eating

HI everyone! I had such a blast when I went to Texas. I am so glad that I went. I met so many wonderful people that I am sure will become lifelong band and unbanded buddies. I feel like I have extended my family and I just had to tell everyone how wonderful Texans are! Well sorry I haven't been on as of late I have been trying to catch up because of being gone. Oh and the knee is feeling fine! Although it is still swollen the Glucosimine is starting to work . I am so glad I had this done!

My husband got the bad news on Monday that he (and many others) has been down-sized out of his job as of 9/3. It's a very scarey feeling - we've got all the usual expenses, and I, for the most part, have been at home with the children for 10 years. He has been an order administrator with a DSL chip manufacturer for the past 41/2 years. Before that he worked 16 years as a warehouse supervisor. I was banded June 28, 2004. I received my first fill of 1.5cc on Aug. 9. My band holds 4 cc. I am very confused about the way my band is working. Sometimes I take my very first bite of food, chew exceptionally well as always, and I feel like I have a golf ball in my chest that won't go down. It takes me forever to eat a very small amount. Because I have been restricting myself to 4 oz. to 6 oz. of food at a time and counting calories, as my dietician recommends, I am finding this past week that when I come home from work and eat dinner I am suddenly shamefully famished and would binge all at once. I am taking a lot of supplements, which I think I need as I know I don't get enough with the small amount of food I am now eating , but, my Dr recommends 3500 mg of calcium a day (I think that is an awful lot) I am finding that getting all that down to be tough. I'm using Isotonix - 750 mg in 2 capfuls, so I try to do it 4 times a day. Are all your Dr's having you take so much? Is there another product that would give me more per dose? Can I take it all at once? Some days just getting all the supplements down is a struggle. I am doing good about taking others, multi, C, iron but this calcium thing.........suggestions? I have an aquaintance-type friend who recently decided to have RNY--i think the time between her decision to do it and actual surgery was about two weeks--she paid cash for it--no insurance authorization necessary---- Anyhoo---why would anyone want RNY over LapBand? I can't think of one reason! Wondering what your thoughts on this are....

After suffering since March, I finally had my band loosened. I have gained 5 pounds, but, I feel so much better. At first I wasn't complaining about the tight band because I was losing a lot of weight, but, when I fluctuated between the same 3-5 pounds enough was enough. It is nice to be able to eat without struggling so much. I was worried, because my husband's band slipped, and I didn't want the same thing. He had to have all his Fluid taken out, and may have to have surgery again, we are keeping our fingers crossed since our insurance won't cover that. Hey folks, I've missed all of you too!!! Very much so and think of you all daily. Life has changed a little bit. I mentioned in another post that we were getting a temporary roommate. Well we did.
