just kidding i 'endulged'!!! this saturday a friend of mine called me up and invited me to come make cake weenies with her. being the good friend i am i happily obliged. we made little chocolate cake weenies with chocolate frosting and pink ones with white frosting. :lick they were yummy...well actually i had a weird experience...on the chocolate one i could only eat about 2-3 bites before it became WAY to sweet. i even let it sit for 2 hours while we watched a movie thinking i could finish it later. STILL to sweet. :speechles weird in a good way!! have you had your cake weenies today?:smoke

Hi, Today was my birthday and I am feeling a little down. I was hoping to get under 200 pounds by today and I missed a goal. Plus I ate way too much this weekend and I know I will gain weight. Also I have been on a plateau for 2 1/2 weeks and gained two pounds from my all time low of 208. So this is my new resolution to get below 200: I will up my exercise from 2-3 hours a week I will drink more Water No cheating or making bad food choices My desire is to get below 200 by August 23rd 2004. Hi, I was wondering if those of you out there who are married felt that your spouse was less than supportive of your decision to get banded. My husband states he is supportive but his actions don't necessairly show that. I know he wants the best for my health but his comments are more geared towards that I will fail, or will want to give up if it gets too hard. This is discouraging for me, I really don't think he even knows he's doing it. He hasn't done any research with me and has asked few questions. Also, my mom is less than supportive and thinks I'm crazy. I feel the people closest to me aren't being supportive. My friends have been supportive, those I've tol…

Some of you might remember that I wrote asking if any of you could find "Crystal Light On The Go" in your local grocery stores. ( These are the individial size packets that are for bottled water) Well I have learned that they are not sold in grocery stores but I have located them on this site: http://www.discountcoffee.com/CrystalLightLemonade.htm Now I wish we lived closer to each other... free shipping with a $50.00 order! I'd like some of all the flavors:) Maybe some of you that use Dr. Speigel in Pt. Neches Texas might be interested in group buying?:guess They are also on eBay, but not as cheap as this site.

Move over, people. I'm wearing a pair of jeans that haven't seen my ass since the 90's! And I'm sitting down and breathing all at once. These were my favorites back then, and they're so old and worn that the cuffs are frayed and they had a hole near my coochie that I patched years back... but I'm wearing them to work today because try to stop me! Meanwhile, I'm having a hard time while shopping because my brain keeps taking me back to the 26/28 huge tent-shirts that I lived in to cover everything. Last night I bought an 18/20 tank top that fits without looking like a sausage. Watch out, world! Now keep in mind The Avenue, where I buy most my clothes, is a plus-…

Hi, I am getting banded August 26th and was wondering about port placement. I've read about it placed in the lower part of the abdomen, in the sternam area etc... I've also read about it being sutured and other doctors don't suture. Where is the best place to have it placed and should it be sutured? Is it possible to request where the port is placed? Also are there statistics regarding port placements and fewer problems? Thanks, Debbie

This is totally unrelated to the band but I am hoping for wisdom... Prior to my current marriage, I was engaged to a poop head. I was totally in love with a man that was unable to love anyone other than himself. He was 19 years older than I and his credit history was a disaster. He was in the process of a divorce and the only way he would be able to keep his (our) home was to get a loan to pay off his ex-wife. Yup... I cosigned... idiot. I finally came to my senses one month prior to our wedding date and left the relationship. It was the hardest thing I had ever done in my life as I still loved him very much... idiot. I had to start all over again as all of my res…

OK, so maybe I'm a sucker but I just shelled out $20.00 for the PC version of Fitday. Even though I don't log my food or activities religiously, once in a while I think it helps a lot to focus me. But Fitday on the web had some shortcomings that really frustrated me, specifically the inability to create a custom food item using ingredients. So every time I had a deli sandwich for lunch, I'd have to enter the bread, the meat, the cheese, and the spread all separately. The PC version allows you to create a custom food called, say, "turkey sandwich lunch" and enter that all at once. It also has much more detailed and flexible reporting, and a host of other features I'm ju…

I'm sitting in my home office with my tube sticking out of my incision, one more day of misery before I see the doctor, and attached are the reasons I continue to smile. We're home, and we had a GREAT time!!! The weather was absolutely sparkling, and I have a whole new respect for the New Jersey Shore. It's not all boardwalk and tacky arcades, nuh-uh. We were staying in a friend's house in the wonderfully named Surf City on Long Beach Island. Now I'm all jealous and coveting even the tiniest shack somewhere within walking distance of the ocean. Oh well, probably not in this lifetime. But it was fun, and I think I only gained a coupla ounces. That would be from the ice cream.

But I'm a gardener and I have a terrible farmer tan!!! Do any of you use a self tanner, and if so, what kind? Have any of you had any disasters with them? And what do you guys think about that mist tan they spray on you? I mean, that just sounds like spots could get missed and then where are you? ANyone tried that? I hate to go to the skin cancer tanning booth...but I really love this shirt! Any suggestions would be much appreciated....I glow in the dark!!!! Help!! Megan

I first noticed it last Sunday and thought it was a mosquito bite, of which I always have several at the end of the weekend. I hadn't noticed getting bitten at all. Two or three days later, I realized it wasn't going away but getting larger. The skin doesn't itch, and the central area is now about the size of a quarter. Yesterday I called my health insurance carrier's 24-hour nurse line, to see if they thought I needed to go to the doctor. I mean, if my doc would just look at it and say wow that looks bad but it's going to go away on its own, I figured I should save the $20. The nurse an…

I am so confused about clothing sizes. I've been wearing Avenue clothes mostly, so those are the sizes I use in my sig. I'm wearing size 18/20 tops, 20 jeans, and 18 in the "denim lite" shorts. All of the 22 pants I had are too large now. So recently I went on Avenue's website, and looked at their fit charts. Using my measurements, those charts say I should be fitting comfortably into their size 22/24 on top and 26/28 on the bottom! Now, I can understand making the size numbers lower to flatter customers, but why not have size charts that accurately reflect the size of the clothes?!? Of course people are shaped differently, but I'd think one person's 44 waist is the sam…

Yesterday I was driving to work listening to public radio, when without preamble they did an extraordinary thing. They read the Declaration of Independence, with different radio personalities taking different paragraphs; the voice was always changing. It was mesmerizing! I don't know that I've ever heard the whole thing read aloud. By the time it was over I was moved to tears. We have a lot to be thankful for but most of all is this amazing country we live in. I hope everyone (well, the Americans among us, at least ) takes a minute or two this holiday weekend to think of our brave founders and marvel at their lasting achievement. Have a wonderful holiday, everyone…

I've read (somewhere) that our bodies can only absorb 30 gms. of protein at a time. Does anyone else know about protein absorption? I'm 3 months out and trying to get my allotted 60 gms a day - and finding the protein powders are the easiest way for me to get it in. I bought some at GNC today and it is 40 gms per serving (per 3 scoops, I could knock that down if needed) I hate to waste it, if I'm not absorping it. What do ya'all know about this? Thanks
