I tried to search the archives for this problem before posting. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. As many of you know, my husband and I were banded back in Aug '03. My husband's band slipped and he had it fixed in Nov '04. Anyway. He has a hard time getting liquids down. He has extreme mucous. He is not congested or anything like that. he just got an adjustment (he had the problem before the adjustment)and now that he is on liquids for the next few days, he can't get anything down due to this. Tonight he has gotten up and thrown up this watery type substance several times (equivalent to a 32oz cup)yet, he hasn't had any Water at all. I am worried…

Whipeeeee, I just came from the doctors office and got another 1cc, I've lost 29 lbs, but I've gained 12 lbs of muscle, which equates to 41 lbs lost:banana :banana :banana. My nutritionist really made my day. I was rather depressed over the little weight loss for three months, then she explained all the muscle vs fat, I'm on cloud nine.

(one pill nightly) and a pill during the day if I really feel I need it. I mostly just bite the bullet and suffer. anyway my question is "are the pain pills bad for the band?

I am worried about the fill process and complications that may arise as I know vomiting is not a good thing at this point. I would love to hear from everyone. Thanks Carey:)

They also have Cherry Cola, and Root Beer flavors... Hmmmmmmm I love crushed ice too!! Another thing you can do with Crushed Ice is.. make a Isopure Snow Cone... get your Protein and enjoy a cool treat. Anyone else have ideas for Crushed Ice??

A nice salad is one of my very favorite foods to eat...I've read that some people have a hard time with lettuce....I don't get that. I've read where people say foods get "stuck"...stuck where? and why??

Hello everyone..I just found this site while doing a bit of research. I'm a 34 yr. old mom of two. I've been heavy most of my adult life. I've taken diet pills and lost lots of weight but always put it back on. The thought of this procedure seems both exciting and frightening at the same time. I would dearly love to get back to being active so that I can do all the things I enjoy with my family. I guess what I'm wanting to know is....does anyone here regret having had this procedure done? Was it harder or easier than you expected? Was the procedure itself painful? How often do you experience any discomfort now after the fact? Would you do it again? Thanks in ad…

Well, I had my surgery on Monday....came home from hospital yesterday. I really must admit that I am feeling MUCH better than I anticipated. I would describe myself as being "uncomfortable" but not really in much pain. I get the nice shot of pain in my abs just as I stand up and if move the wrong way, but other than that I am just sore. I was very pleased with the way my incisions turned out. My doc didn't use stitches---he used some kind of superglue stuff. When my hubby first saw them, he told me they looked like little pencil lines. Everyone at the hospital (Doctor's Hospital in Shreveport, LA) was angelic! I couldn't have asked for better care. Hi everyone. I am now six weeks out from surgery. I have been eating without really any problems with foods, except wheat bread making me feel sick. I am wondering about how much your stomach should hold before a fill and to still lose weight if you are eating healthy? I have felt restriction all along so far and am wondering if I am about right or if I need a fill yet. For example, for lunch I can eat almost one slice of white bread with a slice or two of turkey and one piece of cheese and feel really full. Same if I eat just a couple of ounces of protein or a really small salad. For dinner, I can usually eat approximately 2-3 oz of meat and maybe a 1/3-1/2 cup of…

I just went to a seminar on Lap bands and Dr Boutt said also that another company is seeking FDA approval and it should be out in 1-2 years but it is very similiar. The only difference was they were looking at the snap area where the band closed because that is where they where finding it erroded the stomach wall. Currently they have improved the techinique on putting in the current ones by putting in a extra stitch at the snap site to keep a space between the stomach and snap. As far as Insamed new band the port will be a little thinner how ever only 3mm? not alot to make a whole lot of difference.Dr Boutt also stated when the day comes that they truely make a smaller p…

Well, I had my lap-band surgery. My surgery was with Dr Tarnoff at Tufts-New England Medical Center. I feel pretty good. My surgery was at 8:30 am and I got home around 5 pm. My belly is sore, feels like I ahve been punched about 200 times in the stomach.....I had some tea and broth before I left the hospital More broth when I got home. Today I had about 2 tbs of yogurt with my pain meds mixed in it and a sugar free popsicle and a little Water. So far so good. I live about 15 miles south of Boston and we got 10 inches of snow last night, so I guess I will just hang in the house for today. Patty

She is very nervous about this and wants to get it off, but don't know where to start. I suggested that she go on a low-carb diet and lots and lots of Water drinking and walking if she can, but she had lots of health problems so the walking is probably not an option. Is there any of you who have done anything to lose some weight quick before surgery? If so please advise me and I will share with her..... Thanks so much!

I was very ill and very energy starved for the two-three week period. I am better now and have adjusted and learned to eat different again. My exercise was challenged for a few days as I adjusted to the diet. I had to add protien shakes to my diet for my gym periods. I bought a juicer yeah Jack Lelanne I believe.
