I'm Mon at 2:30. I was up till 5am this sun . Just could not go to sleep. Then I slept till noon. The rest of the day I have been really busy trying to get everything done. I picked up my scripts on Fri, but found my liquid vicodin was missing. I was prescribed 2 antibiotics to take 3 x's today. I had taken one dose and went to get my pain med. The pharm asked if I was taking the flagyl. I said I was but only today. He asked if the Dr knew I was going to take that vicodin. I said well he gave me all the scripts. He said well I can't gve this to you. I panicked and said , but why? He said that I could not take it with Flagyl. I told him that I would not start the liquid vicodin until Tues. He said it did not matter, the flagyl would still be in my system and he had better call my Dr. I told him to just give me my pain med and I would flush that flagyl. Then I asked him what would happen if I took it and then took liquid vicodin. He told me that the liquid vicodin has alcohol in it and I would start vomiting violently and be sick like I never had been in my life!!! OMG, this after having been banded. Can you believe it??? I just hope 1 dose causes no problems. Aside from that, I have been through an array of emotions from happy to crying and I will just be glad to have it over with tomorrow!! Good luck to all the others!!

Flagyl is given to kill certain types of bacteria or parasites such as giardia or I guess prevent as well. I tested negative for every single test I was put through so I guess he does it as a preventative measure. I shall certainly ask. It seems it must have come up with other patients before me. Thanks!! I hope all goes well.

Hi Everyone! I'm seeing lots of surgeries listed for this week, so wanted to wish everyone the best! Mine is scheduled for Wednesday! 2 days and counting!

I have a question for those out there either on the pre-op Protein Shake diet, or those that have been on it previously: Did you notice anything unusual change while you were on the diet? The reason I ask is this: My sense of smell has skyrocketed!!!!! I havent had any really bad cravings for food at all, most of the time. I can be around other people that are eating and it hasnt really bother me. But, if I smell anything relating to food, whether I can see it, or even if i'm not hungry, I become ravenous! It's only the smell that gets me, and i'm smelling a lot more, too! Just curious to see if i'm still wierd or not. I hope so!

Thanks!

I noticed the same thing. My sense of smell had definitely increased, and I couldn't go into a mall or other public place with food vendours without being affected.

UGH! :thumbup::cursing::ohmy:

I am so good during the week when I'm working. Breakfast. lunch. dinner. No Snacks. And I'm not even hungry, that's the shocker. I still have restriction from surgery, whether it's swelling or something else, I don't know. But during the week I'm really great with my eating plan.

Then the weekend hits and I blow it all to hell. I'm not hungry, but I eat anyways. A little here, a little there. I'm eating way too much on the weekends. I've been on full liquids and mushies the last two weeks, but I'm still eating much more than I should. It's like I'm bored so I eat. That's always been my problem, and it's obvious I've still got the problem. What the heck am I gonna do? I need to find a hobby fast. :cool2::cursing:

Hi I have mine on Friday I guess I am at the tail end of the month. Friday is probably the last surgery day as Monday is the 1st Of Dec. So much for Xmas Turkey, so I cooked one last weekend and enjoyed it with all the trimings.

4 1/2 days and counting

My friends keep suggesting knitting. I guess it can be a real passion and definitely keeps the hands busy!

I am not as far out as you, so it may very well change, but right now, I am finding anything more than two to three tablespoons every four or five hours and I am in MISERY. I am okay with that for now, but hope I won't always be this full-feeling!

I was banded Thursday 11-20. I can say I have been up and about since then. Just sore at the port site. Hungry, but that goes away with drinking my liquids, most of it is head hunger I think. Enjoying having my hubby take care of me, maybe even taking advantage of it a little!!!

Good luck to all banders who will be banded this week. I will have my one week band-a-versary tomorrow. So far, so good. The only pain I have is from the hernia. I'm forcing myself to eat....just not that hungry. I'm still sleeping in the recliner because being flat on my back still hurts a lot.

It's difficult to believe but this time last week I was a bundle of nerves....now I'm home, posting on the computer, sitting in the recliner in front of the fireplace, loving life......

On another note......

I feel like a real dummy BUT how do I post my stats via ticker factory...please help!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
