Ok, I know it's stupid, but I have never been very superstitious, but when I got my date, I was so excited. But I just realized this past week that it's Friday the 13th. My husband is getting his surgery this friday on the 6th and he's happy as heck. But I can't help but think that I need to change my date. I know that will probably push back the surgery maybe even a month. Give me some advice, should I change my date, or just push through this feeling that I am having.:confused2: My husband says for me to do whatever I want, but he won't even change dates with me, which is making me worry more.

What do you think?

DOnt worry about it. Friday the 13th is nothing more than a superstition. Focus on why you are doing this and nothing else. I know I will since my surgery date is the 13th also! Good luck!!

My date is also the 13th....I am not worried, it all started when the templars got killed on that date all over Europe...maybe knowing the origins will help!

I think it will be fine!

Congrats June Bandsters! I'm so excited to be joining the ranks this month (19th). I'm also looking forward to sharing the journey together. It's helped so much to read what others are going through and to get tips and suggestions, but most of all ENCOURAGEMENT!

Personally, I think superstitions only have the power you give them. To me it's just another date and therefore it has no power over me. Hey, I had my first date with my husband on a Friday the 13th, 34 years ago. I always call it my lucky day!

Thirteen is a baker's dozen -- just one more of a good thing.

I am just realizing how much food means to me. I can't wait to eat to live instead of living to eat! Agree?

I'm pretty lucky because, as far as I know, I don't have a pre-op liquid diet. I just have to eat the regular pre-op diet...1200 calories, Protein, vegetables, etc. Kaiser required that I lose so many pounds to see the surgeon, which I did, then gave me the surgery date. So as long as I continue to lose, I'm ok.

I hope this goes right. This is my first post. I will be banded on Friday June 13th. Scary, I know. I'm not too superstitious though. I think everything will be fine. I'm starting to get really nervous. I've had enough time to be excited, now it's just the nerves, lol. Anyway, if anyone has any advice on how to relax a little it would certainly be appreciated.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
