LJM...you look great. It is just amazing what a TT will do. You don't look swollen...but only you can tell. Don't get freaked but just think you deserve a compliment....you really have a nice shaped hinder. Hot momma!

just took these this morning. i have the binder up a little higher to help control the swelling in my upper tummy.

today is a lot better so far. things are ummm.. 'moving along' and had one of my top 10 most embarrassing moments yesterday... had to ask DH to take care of it... not a fun thing to do - for either of us im sure... but this morning, all was fine and i could do everything on my own... yay! small victories, right??

so here are my 3 day pics... i cant really tell much of a difference from 2 and 3 day, but i'll compare them at 2 and 7 maybe... still really swollen... really swollen, but it will get better, i know. i am a full 7 inches bigger in my waist than the day before surgery!!

im going to order my new garment today. i need to get it quickly, my binder is quite nasty and cannot be dried in a dryer. i dont want to go too long without anything...

my body temp is still really fluctuating... im never at a good state... either REALLY warm or freezing. hopefully that will regulate within a week or so :cursing: yeah, right.

You look fantastic for three days out C.

Freaking amazing!

I'll concur about your butt looking really good!

And I see what you mean about the redness though it appears that a lot of that is bruising to a degree. It will fade, and you already look wonderful!!!

Glad to hear DH apologized, I think if I ever make it far enough to do a LBL/BL/BA/Lipo, etcetera. I just might do it in Mexico where you stay for a week or two post-op in one of their facilities because I'm certain I'd be plotting my DH's demise after a single day! Mine just doesn't have much patience sometimes, either. Yet of course if they have a paper cut we as women are expected to take care of them and the house and the kid(s) even if we had recently lost an arm or had pneumonia ourselves.

Lilo, I agree her butt is pretty doggone good :rolleyes2:

But I have to respond to your comment saying she doesn't look swollen...I think she's quite swollen but perhaps because it is all so smooth it doesn't appear that way in the photos? If you saw her post earlier, she measured her waist pre and post-op and it was actually (I believe) **9 inches** bigger after the surgery than before. That's a lot of swelling.

C, I remember reading Georgia's thread (puddin) and even three months out she still had swelling that kept her at a size 8 when she ended up a 6.

Fear not, lambchop! You ARE swollen and it will be a bit before it's gone.

thanks guys... last night was really rough and I didnt sleep well at all.. I'm very picky about my pillows and something was just 'off' and I had a headache of gigantic proportions.. took 2 doses of 3 Tylenol each and it didnt knock it out. so I woke ip about 7, ate breakfast, helped put DD's socks on (my major accomplishment for the day) sent her and DH off to school and went backto bed..

so I'm up now, headache still lingering, but not horrid. I think I have mypillow situation figured out though.. plus i called my surgeon, its ok to take Tylenol PM tonight since I haven't been on pain meds since Sunday night.. I love Tylenol PM... hopefully tonight I'll get a good rest.

my incision feels like its pulling apart, very very tight. I was told to expect this, but it is still kinda painful.. 4 out of 10 maybe. while in the hospital I never got above a 5 so its kinda big. I dont really want to take my liquid pain meds mostly cause it tastes like crap and it completely knocks meout..

so is today better than yesterday?? I'm going to have to say no... :rolleyes2: but its better than Sunday, so I'll take it!!

thanks for your thoughts, PMS, and responses.. I know I owe some pms, I'll get them..

Hang in there LJM - I am two weeks post-op today and mid-day yesterday I realized my back wasn't hurting nearly as bad . . . It gets better, I promise.

Have you tried taking half a dose of the liquid meds? I took 1/3 after my banding (I know that's not as painful an ordeal, so I'm not trying to compare them...). The full dose knocked me out, 1/3 was just enough to take the edge off the pain but I was still able to function.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
