March 2022 Surgery Buddies

  • Popular Post

Hey Guys! So I have a date (again), it's March 8th - meaning my 2 week "liquid" diet will start Feb 22.

The short month of February makes me feel like I've been granted a shortcut somehow! Who else has a date for March??

  • Congratulations to all the March surgery dates. I was March 9 last year and boy what a year it has been so far. I am currently stuck at about 9 pounds from goal. I may have to add in more exercise to

  • Got a March 17th date a couple of weeks ago. Very excited and nervous. And very hopefully it doesn't get postponed for one reason or another. That would be so disheartening at this point.

  • Mindful Moment: I'm feeling all kinds of emotions today. It's this weird mix of fear, anxiety, elation, resolve, focus, and super-charged anticipation of my future self all at once. If you may be feel

Ooh wow I can remember counting down the days too. How exciting it is waiting to begin this great journey. Congratulation on your surgery date.

Congratulations I’m 8 days away. I’ve lost 6 pounds so far but gain two due to my period coming ugh. I need it to be over before my surgery. One less thing to worry about.

At least yours will be gone. I was due to be on mine and I skipped the white pills on my bc to try and keep it away but had never tried that so I was worried the whole time that it was going to start all the way up to surgery day. And afterwards too really. It never did thankfully but I would’ve much rather just had it the week before and been done with it.

My surgery was supposed to be tomorrow. My 2 week modified-liquid went great. I was down the 25 pounds my surgeon wanted. I took the required Covid test yesterday and failed! I'm feeling fine, just a minor cold, but the surgery has been put off until June 21. I'm completely devastated. Very sad not to be joining the rest of you March surgery buddies. I'm not sure what the next 90+ days will bring.

Well hopefully you will remain pretty much asymptomatic but at least you got the heads up so you don’t spread it and so that you don’t have to recover from surgery while your body is fighting COVID too. I know it sucks to be postponed but your surgery date will come and go before you know it. Trust me. I am a year out now and can’t believe it how fast that year went by.

???Just got my sleeve done on March Fourteenth! In some pain, and I will be for a little while, but even just these 2 weeks of liquid dieting has shown me that we can DO THIS! Just stick to the plan! Everyone, I wish you all the strength you need to commit! I am DOING THIS and YOU ARE TOO! WE. WILL. BE. SUCCESSFUL!!! ???

I am so sorry, I can't even imagine. Hopefully the time will go quickly.

RNY was yesterday. It was rough yesterday during the day but yesterday evening until now, I have been feeling great. Lots of walks around the nurses station and lots of water. The broth is freakin amazing too.

My surgery was on the 1st. I returned to work (part time light janitorial) this past Monday and feel great! The complication I had ended up being just a small bump in the road to recovery. I've lost about 10 pounds so far. In a few days I get to start soft foods that have more texture to them, so stuff like a soft taco with ground beef and cheese. I'll be on that phase for 6 weeks.
