But ... all those fluids!?! :o

I almost never get my fluids in on travel days because of lack of bathroom access fear. Almost wetting your pants in an airplane seat once will do that to you!

Squatting vs sitting if you catch my drift...

Video #2 ... this did not set off my inner cynic nearly as much because it didn't have that familiar fad diet hype.

Obviously, eating once per day isn't practical for those of us who have had WLS. And even those who haven't, how are they getting adequate Protein? I am a firm believer that long term protein deficiency has some pretty severe negative consequences.

I also have a nit pick on the whole section where he justifies the one meal a day a plan with the paleo concept. That makes the assumption that humans stopped evolving since the paleolithic days, which is not true. IMO, Paleo is just junk science.

I actually had to tell the flight attendant I was pregnant. Thank goodness I hadn't had any drinks that flight, or CPS would have been waiting for me at the gate.

I forgot one of the best NSV comfortably using an airplane restroom on a transatlantic flight!!!

Like I'll boiled a pound of shrimp when it's cheap here and freeze them on a tray then bag them.

Has Trader Joe's made it to your neck of the TX woods yet?

Their Red Argentinian Shrimp is by far the tastiest shrimp I have ever had. After the first time I used this shrimp in a dish for an ex he refused any other type of shrimp, even at restaurants. It was a huge PIA because it's not always in stock (wild caught) and he was a pescatarian.

So I was thinking, am I being ridiculous not eating at all today for fear of not being able to make it to the bathroom? So I purchased a nut& raisin mix and I had seaweed Snacks on hand. No big deal, those are harmless right?

Wrong. I wish I didn't eat 😖

Well that is inconvenient. :(

Off topic, but .... I have often wondered if the speed of one's digestive track effects how many calories they absorb from their food?

I believe it does, don't quote me on this but isn't that the issue with people who have slow/low (digestive) motility

Not that I have ever heard of. Google only comes up with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) as causing weight gain. I definitely have slow motility, but not really any other SIBO symptoms. I'll have to ask my gastroenterologist ex next time we talk ....hmmm ...

Well that is one of the advantages of having RNY, is the shortened time it takes to move food through the areas of digestion/absorption. It has been one of the theories of why people lose more weight with RNY on average. But I think they are re-thinking that position in later research?

@Green Tealael I'm so sorry you have to deal with that issue. If I were you I'd get a consult from the doc. My sis has that issue--has had it all her life. I too think it's like SIBO. :( It really is tough on her and I feel so bad for her.

I hope you can find answers! You should totally keep a food diary with effects added to it. That way you can pinpoint when and how it happens. I guess you've tried using/taking Probiotics etc?

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
