With my surgery date getting closer, can someone/anyone post an uplifting experience through their process. There are few and far between amongst all the posts.

I won't lie. It was tough in the beginning. But all of that is a distant and foggy memory almost 22 months post-op. Now I am loving life! I've been maintaining below goal for almost 10 months. I ran my first half marathon in April. I'm training for a full marathon in September.

For me, at least, maintenance is easy. I have no trouble meeting my Protein goals.

I'm 6 weeks post op and have not had any regrets! The first week was tough, but I just kept reminding myself of all the benefits. I'm down 30 pounds, my feet already hurt a little less, and I started back to the gym this week. I have so much hope and excitement about the future.

8th month post op and I'm very glad I acted on the decision to have the sleeve surgery done. Getting rid of a big chunk of the unwanted weight has left me feeling so much better.

I've certainly not faced all the challenges in a great way, but I've been able to stumble my way through it up to this point. I've lost over 190 lbs of the 230-ish lbs I want to lose. I think I'll be there by the one year mark.

You have to overlook a lot if the negative posts you see. Most of them are simply folks griping about a specific hurdle they are trying to get over. They are probably pleased overall.

Sure! I am 7 months post op. I got to my doctors goal months. ago. I am 3 lbs from normal range BMI and 8 lbs from personal goal. My health has improved so much. Off 3 medications; cymbalta, Metformin and Spironolactone. My PCOS, cholesterol, plantar facitis, metabolic syndrome, incontinence, psoriasis, back pain, knee pain, ankle pain and arthritis are either 95-100% better. I also rarely get headaches anymore. I have energy, I can keep up with my young children and my husband has the girl he dated back ( I am better than the girl he married lol!). I have less aniexty with no medication at all! Also I look awesome!

I would do it again in an instant. I am almost nine months out and down 126 lbs since surgery. I dealt with different pain issues due to my weight and horrid IBSD and those have resolved. I was fortunate to not have any other weight related issues other then borderline high blood pressure and that's normal now too. I am able to take part in life again and not let it all pass me by. I have been given my life back and now am smaller then I was in middle school. I still have about 50 pounds to go to get to my personal goal but for the first time in my life I feel that it is obtainable.

off diabetes medication. on 1/4 of blood pressure meds. I can cross my legs. I have energy to participate in my life again. I can wear rings that have sat in my jewelry case for years.

simply put, there is no aspect of my life that has not been improved since surgery.

I had no complications aside from some constipation (which I firmly believe is due to coming off Metformin) and I can eat anything - but I prefer the foods on my food plan. no trouble at all getting liquids and Protein in. I have lost 40% of my excess weight. weight loss is slow and steady.

Thank you all for your posts!! It really eased some of my anxieties. I have no idea why I'm worried about the pain after surgery. I've gone through natural child birth and Gallbladder surgery and survived. To be honest, by biggest fear is taking my first sip after surgery.

That's funny, I about had a panic attack in the hospital when I had to drink for the first time. I mean sweating and shaky hands... it's not all that bad though, good luck!!

Just remember to take it slow. Don't take big sips. Trust me on that one. It's still surprise me how little it takes to fill me. I am one month post. The worst part for me was the dry mouth. They would let me rinse my mouth just don't swallow till your ready. It is best to start with ice chips. They go down much easier. Oh if they give you liquid pain meds and tell you take it like a shot DONT you stomach can't hand that much at once. Just sip it. It will be much better going down. They had me do it like a shot the first day and thought I was going throw up everywhere. The next dose I sipped much better.

Having my sleeve truly was the best thing I have evee done. I feel good, i look good, I'm not worried about not living to 40. I had ZERO complications and practically no pain. I would do this again in a heartbeat

I'm 15 days out, and I haven't felt this good in years. I'm down 33 lbs from my highest weight, and had no complications or tolerance issues. Very little actual hunger lets me eat what I need to and I'm not a slave to my stomach anymore. For almost all of us (excluding car wrecks, plane crashes and lightning strikes) this surgery means we're going to live longer and healthier lives!

The sleeve gave me a whole new life. I had gotten so large that it was hard to even do basic every day things, and I have never been a person who is satisfied with the basic every day life anyway.

I wanted adventure. I wanted to travel. I wanted to have more pleasure in my life That came from somewhere else besides a menu. I wanted to dance. I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin. I wanted my pain to go away.

That is why I got sleeved. And my faith was not misplaced. I am down over 100 pounds in a little over seven months, and I have purchased an RV, so I can travel. I am literally embarking on a whole new life which would have been impossible at my previous weight.

The sleeve saved my life. Even though it was and is a sacrifice, every bit of it has been worth it to me. I wish I could've done this for myself along time ago, as I would be at goal by now. It was one of the best decisions of my adult life.

honestly, i've just been feeling' myself. way more confident overall. i feel good, look good, have hella energy and don't have back pain anymore and my IBS has calmed down. I've always been a good dresser, but now I'm stepping that up even more. I'm also dating more. I've been participating in hella activities, like walking in the Pride parade and AIDS walk that i would have shied away from in the past. also doing little things like taking the stairs everyday, multiple times a day at work and not feeling like i have to circle around to find the closest parking spots... hell... sometimes i take a further one on purpose.

I am lighter than my goal weight and my medical conditions pre-surgery are all gone (high blood pressure, sleep apnea, chronic back and knee pain, limited mobility). I've dropped many sizes, have a body fat percentage in the ideal range for my age, and have so much energy! These past months haven't been a struggle, but they haven't been a cake walk either. But the effort was worth the results. I feel physically and emotionally better than I have in years. As cliche as it sounds, I have given myself a new lease on life, and I am doing everything I can to take advantage of it.

I recently had my surgery on May 24th. It has not been that long but I am very happy with the decision I made. I am a litle bit concern because I lost quite a few pounds but seem to be stuck. I was reading on this forum that eating properly and taking the Vitamins and Proteins is very, very important. Did this happen to you at the beginning as well? Please advise.
