@JustWatchMe 14 flights of stairs?!? You go get 'em!!! Way to go!

I'm on track for eating today. Had all of my Water and then some. Got in an exercise video tonight. All is well!

I tried cooking Chinese for the second time ever. I consider myself a pretty good cook, but I tried several years ago and it was a fail. Tonight's meal was a success and much healthier than it would have been in a restaurant. Victory! I got the recipes from a food blogger that I follow and her stuff is always good. That helps! ;)

Hope everybody is doing well. I LOVE hearing all about your successes, so please let me hear from you.

Yep, I spread it out over the day but today I was able to do it in two parts. Actually, I did 14 flights the last two days and 16 today. I couldn't even climb one flight ten months ago. And even though I was physically able to climb a flight of stairs after a couple of months post op, I didn't dare do it at work for all the huffing and puffing at my desk afterward. Now I am not even out of breath. It's truly a miracle.

Back from grocery... nice fresh peppers, cauliflower, celery and carrots. Stir fry with chicken tonight. lunch of stewed creamed tomatoes. Breakfast 1/2 pc gluten free french toast and 1 T Syrup. Had Water and coffee. Need to add my Vitamins and minerals and green tea soon. Working in garage with tote storage organizer project! It was going great till hubby started c/o headache. His B/P is high. Call in to DR. Shall see what we need to do to treat this. Never a dull moment! Planned to do the gym but his B/P will keep me from going yet. I may do brisk walk outside. Moving is moving!

Went to Zumba yesterday. Not sure I can get out of bed today. Yikes. 15,000 steps on my fitbit and my daughter is already up and has plans for us going to the gym for 10. I try to remind her she is 1/2 my age. I thrive on competitiveness and if she can keep me motivated this winter, I will be able to bike next summer

The more I do the stairs the easier it gets. Friday I logged 24 flights. Three rounds of eight each. I don't know if it was that or the clean eating all week or the recovery from my minor surgery, or all of the above, but I'm down a pound and a half.

Today is Sunday. I had plans with friends for a doggie play date in the park but we are expecting a bunch of snow. If it holds off for six more hours, we will still go.

Movement is going to be what gets the scale to go down for me. I want to find a way to move more every day. The stairs at work thing is working out really well.

Good Morning, Just in from the ER with my Mom. It does cause some issues when our schedules are changed but flexibility and accountability are sisters! Today starting with green tea and vit/min. Boiled egg on the menu, chili and cheese for lunch. Not sure how dinner will go as we need to go to the hospital after the gym to visit. High Protein goal (fish I think and veg. ) for dinner. I can keep it simple and still make my goals!

Saturday just over 2000 calories and Sunday just over 3000 (damn movie popcorn) and no exercise either day. Monday 1167 calories and 24 flights of stairs at work. Back on track. I knew the weekend was going to be loose but that movie popcorn is deadly. I don't know why I can't make myself give it up. It's definitely a comfort food.

Hi, everyone!!

@@JustWatchMe - My weekend was TOO loose. Ugh! I did get in some walking, but not enough to compensate for what went into my mouth. My weakness is sweets. I won't say anymore (food porn) so that I don't cause someone else to slip. I will count it as a cheat day, that turned into two, and move on.

Yesterday was right back on track. I met all of my daily goals for Protein, Water (had extra trying to flush out the weekend damage), calories were right around 800, and did a walking video last night.

I plan to repeat today. I have meals planned and already prepped. I'll get my Water in and exercise later today.

How's everyone else? I would LOVE to hear from you. Do we need a roll call????

I just read every post, love it, I'm Jumpin' on the accountability train!:-)

I've been yo' yo'ing 4 stubborn lbs. for the last month. I started racking my brain trying to figure out what was going on because it's driving me crazy!! Isn't it funny how you forget the very simple things when you start getting comfortable, like making sure to get 80oz of H2O in EVERY day! I think that's why I keep seeing these 4 lbs. on my scale since returning from my vacation last month! I've been drinking too much iced tea with splenda and not getting my Water in. Yesterday I did better I got 48oz in, BUT I had 64oz of tea.......Today the Water and tea are tied:) So.....my goal for today is to get in my 80oz of water. I'm gonna go get me another glass before I get side tracked and forget!:-)

Today will be a great day! I have a new food grinder... gift from the kids for my BD and I made a roast chicken and ground it up with eggs, cheese and pickle. Love wraps and that will be a great high Protein meal. Made Soup too so we can be fast and on target. Mom (90) is in the hospital and we have a funeral of cousins hubby. Making Jello so all bases covered! Watching little grand kids while our kids visit Great Gram at the hospital. Flu season is no place for babies in the hospital. I will get walking in at the hospital today. Only 10 F out so I think I will not do the icy outdoors to walk. Keep focus on your goal and you will get there! Good to hear all your challenges and successes!

Today is going to be amazing!

I met my goal of 80oz of Water yesterday with only 1 glass of tea:-) Today I'm already on my second bottle and man the difference in my energy level is just amazing, oh yeah and 1lb off of that 4 I've been seeing for a month:-) So here's to another day of getting my Water in and hopefully seeing those other 3lbs flush away:-) Today it's going to be in the low 70's (very unusual for MO) but don't get too jealous, snow this weekend but for today I'm going to try and take advantage and get my butt out and walk.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Correction to Tuesday. I had a glass of wine after posting.

Wednesday 1540 calories and 24 flights of stairs.

Today I'm going out for dinner and drinks, so I'm anticipating 2000 calories at day's end, but if I find a good seafood choice it may be lower. I'll try for 32 flights of stairs today if I can.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
