Rate of Loss. 6 Month Weight Loss Metrics For Info/Comparison

Recommended Posts

Here are mine. Very similar stats. I have 10 pounds to goal and have been holding steady while training for 1/2s. Would like the scale to start moving again, but struggling with eating enough for running versus losing weight. I'm a bit anal as well on the stats. I weighed in and measured every Thursday, but haven't been measuring much since January as everything is staying the same. I tracked everything in MyFitnessPal (you can add custom fields).

Forgot to add my height. 5'10.5"

I love data, me! It is interesting - we have very similar stats. I used to have MyFitnessPal, until I lost my smartphone two weeks ago. Hurrumpf :(

So, based on your data, I should hopefully hit my target by the end of the year. That would be very cool.

Visuals:

You look fabulous. I can't see how your hips haven't decreased, because in the pictures, you're looking much much smaller. Sure you're not putting the measuring tape in the wrong place?!!

I really can't see the progress that much, I realize it's in my head, but still.....

I hope I'm not putting the tape in the wrong place, because then I would have the fabulous 12.5 inch neck...jelly?

I don't see the progress in myself, either. Went to a do the other night and hated the way I looked. I thought I'd be smaller than I actually was. It made me a little sad. Also made me wonder whether when and if I hit goal, whether I should actually try for the 161 - because I don't think 173 will give me the result I'm looking for.

I dunno. Its hard, all of this 'in our heads' business....

Absolutely, positively, my exact thoughts. :(

Revs, you are such a data slut, I love it! The more stats, the better :D

You are right on track. I expect you will pass your goal of 24 BMI.

At 6 months I was around 25 BMI (started at 36 BMI). I'm now at 24 BMI (7 months) with 20 lbs. to go (want to get to 21 BMI).

In terms of %, I have lost 75% of my excess weight.

I think you're doing better than us, my dear. 2 points of BMI is a big difference at 6 months. I guess that's what's worrying me.

I certainly hope I hit the BMI 24. 161lbs would put me at BMI 23 on the nose. I think that might be better - or though much much harder to achieve at this rate.

I'm wondering if my PCOS has a part to play in all this.....

I am 10.5 months out and I lost nothing month 9. Goose egg, nada, zilch. In fact, I spent the entire month losing and regaining the same three pounds. I am still 6-16 pounds from goal so the lack of weight loss should have been agonizing.

Good news is, for the first time in 1 bazillion years, I didn't get to the end of the month having suffered from some flucked up diet plan while spending most of my days counting, weighing, measuring, obsessing, craving, felling deprived, moody, b!tchy (well, any more than usual), and hating myself for getting so freaking fat.

In the last 30 days (from month 9.5 to 10.5), I have lost 6 pounds. Just when I was wondering if all future weight loss was going to be extra hard work, I made the concerted effort to eat more Protein, drop some of the crappy carbs that crept back into my diet, and I started losing again. I know what to do and my restriction is so good that I cannot possible overeat the right foods. It's the wrong foods that will do me in. I am determined enough to allow myself an occasional treat without beating myself up and I love myself enough again to continue on this journey until I am satisfied that I have gotten to where I want to be physically.

No, I don't think you stop losing after 6/8/12 months. I do think that's where the rapid weight loss happens, but along with less weight on the frame, more movement is easier, less self medication eating happens, more body awareness exists, and the number on the scale will continue to move down. That's my opinion, anyways. :D

Well then, there's hope. It still freaks me out, though, that there is no loss this early in the game! I mean for such a long period of time.

Congrats on your wonderful progress!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
