Insurance paying for protein drinks....

Just an FYI ... I'm 5 days post op with the sleeve. Everything is going well. I just wanted to share what my friend shared with me about getting your drinks paid for through your insurance.

Didn't know if it would go through or not but it did!! I signed up online at Insure Nutrition, gave them my insurance information (make sure it's your prescription plan info) and they did all the work for me. They verified my insurance, contacted my Doctor for the prescription and a week later I received my first shipment!!

You all may already know about this but I didn't and I honestly couldn't have been more surprised that it was approved and had no copay!! My drinks were actually delivered a week before my surgery do they were ready for me!

They also do liquid supplements but my doctor has me on chewable Flintstones lol so I'm doing those instead.

Oh and I'm doing premier chocolate.

Yahoo!!! I was approved for the shakes, vitamins and the cream. The process was very quick, maybe 10 days from application to a call that I am approved. I have CVS/Caremark for insurance. I can't believe I didn't do this months ago. Oh well, you can only do what you know. Good luck to all, everything went very smoothly.

This is awesome news. I'm looking into it tomorrow!!! Thanks for the tip!! My surgery is feb 25! Still waiting for my approval. The insurance company got everything they needed on feb 4...

Hold on to them. After the surgery you might be sensitive to taste and smells and if you don't like your Protein drinks or can't manage anything else, the Ensure drinks just might be your best friend.

Did you get the high protein Ensure?

Xx

I was approved! Got the call today..I have bcbs of Illinois for those who were wondering ..should get my first shipment of shakes and Vitamins next week :-)

This gives me hope...haven't heard any update yet; but hopefully by the end of this week... I have BCBS of Georgia (HMO), so I am soooo keeping my fingers crossed, I could sure use the financial break right now!

Hi.. I got the one that has 24 grams of protein. My surgeon says I need at least 70 grams per day... Oh my

Just applied for approval. Surgery was last week and I have Anthem BC for health and CVS/Caremark for Rx. Fingers crossed!

I applied 11 business days ago, still haven't herd anything, I know my dr signed the prescriptions I was there when he did, and I tried calling them this morning and it keeps saying that I have reached a non working number? I just emailed them to see If I get a response. I wonder whats going on? not to professional.

The number I use is 877-513-5810 and usually an answer phone. Just leave your name and number and they do call you back.

I'm Tri-Care Prime. It seems I'm waiting forever too. I spoke to them yesterday and they said they did receive the signed prescription fax from my PCM but, it was still with their (insure Nutrition) pharmacy. They said they would call me in a few days time.

Good luck

That's the number I used, I just tried it again, same message.

I got the same recording so I dialed the number that shows up on my caller ID. Sharon answered at Insure and they had no clue the 800 number isn't working. She said she would report it ASAP.

She also said you can dial her at her direct number of 323 406 9044 until this 800 number problem is resolved.

Hope this helps!
