Insurance paying for protein drinks....

Just an FYI ... I'm 5 days post op with the sleeve. Everything is going well. I just wanted to share what my friend shared with me about getting your drinks paid for through your insurance.

Didn't know if it would go through or not but it did!! I signed up online at Insure Nutrition, gave them my insurance information (make sure it's your prescription plan info) and they did all the work for me. They verified my insurance, contacted my Doctor for the prescription and a week later I received my first shipment!!

You all may already know about this but I didn't and I honestly couldn't have been more surprised that it was approved and had no copay!! My drinks were actually delivered a week before my surgery do they were ready for me!

They also do liquid supplements but my doctor has me on chewable Flintstones lol so I'm doing those instead.

Oh and I'm doing premier chocolate.

No shipping issues here. Got mine last week. 4 cases with 30 11oz shakes in each, stretch mark ointment and bariatric vitamins. The box was very heavy and moist but the items were fine. Didn't have to pay anything.

Are you supposed to use your health insurance info or you prescription coverage info? I used my prescription info.

Mine was prescription info but I read someone else on here said they used their insurance information. Mine was denied through insurance but approved through prescription plan.

Thanks! I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Welcome!

I received my delivery and then had to sign some form and I am very happy with the shipment. So happy to get this paid for?

I have BCBS of Tx. I was denied ????

I was just approved today I used my Medco prescription coverage and then they called and asked my health insurance info. I got the shakes and the scar cream and chewable vitamins!!

I have Medco. I'm going to try and get approved even though I'm 11 months post op!!

I just got my call today....I was denied. I have Aetna as my provider. Oh well...I took a shot!!

This is so informative, thank you! I just submitted my insurance information today.

We had a preop class at the surgeons office and I asked the dietician if she had heard that insurance covers Protein drinks. She actually laughed at me like I was crazy.

I have UHC choice plus but I am not getting my hope up because they made me appeal three times to get approved for surgery!
