  1. Did you use the Apex info., or the CVS/Caremark info when applying online? I tried with my Aetna health and was turned down, and then asked if they could "run" it with my CVS/ Caremark and they told me no. It needed to be my Aetna, and not my prescription card. But, technically this is a prescription, correct?? I was turned down but tempted to try again with my CVS/Caremark card online. Did anyone else use their prescription card only, to apply, and get approved?
  2. At 4 weeks about 25, today is my 8 week Anniv. And I'm only down 39 total since surgery. Almost 40 in 8 weeks is great compared to a "normal" diet, but a bit disappointed because I see some amazing numbers others drop the first 1,2 and 3rd months. I go see my Dr. For a follow up on Friday. Wonder what he will say??

    Shopping

I'm about 10 miles from the San Marcos outlets, I'm in new Braunfels. Headed there this weekend, I'm only 7 weeks out, just need some jeans to get me by for a bit! Love the outlets!!!

    Coffee

I think coffee is fine, like a cup or so, not a whole lot as it is a diuretic and may undo all of your water drinking. Decaf should be fine...
  6. I applied with Aetna, and was turned down- I asked the lady if she was sure she couldn't try using my CVS Caremark prescription plan- and she seemed upset and told me no! If I re- apply with my CVS Caremark, they will fax my Dr again I guess- or call me and tell me nice try! Haha. But also just spent $35 on portion drinks, so think I'll give it another try too. Let me know if your went thru with CVS Caremark on your second try.

    Yesterday I went rogue....

I've used a straw since day one! I was never told not too. I actually only drink from a straw and bought a 100 pack of bendy straws. No issues from using a straw.
  8. I'm 7 weeks out today, down 34 lbs and already feel better and wish I could have done this at 25 years old instead of 43. Best decision ever! I've wasted most of my youth and adult life feeling miserable over my weight. I'm so excited for this next year, and becoming happier and healthier. Soon I won't be entering a room and looking to see if I am the largest, that in itself will be awesome! The first 3 weeks were a little hellish- but looking back, it was a blurr.

    Newbie needs advice!?!?!?

Don't worry!! I was like 9 lbs heavier a few days out of surgery, and really didn't see a loss till a week out. The IV is keeping you really hydrated, etc...it will ALL drop off in a few days. I promise! I freak out too( just went thru a 2 1/2 week period where I only lost 3 lbs) I know it is easy to stress over, but it'll get better week after week.

    Feeling discouraged

Start trying Protein drinks till you find one that you like and sip on that. I love premier Protein- I drink one for Breakfast, and depending on my food, I'll have 1/2 of one in the PM too- that is 45 grams of protein. Trial and error but not getting protein in and low calories will screw your metabolism up even more. I do have issues with water- I'm so busy at work! I got maybe 30 oz of Water in today, and am sitting here with a headache regretting it, and I had some ham for dinner so I am too full to drink. Tomorrow I'll just remember how crappy I feel now and drink my darn water. Hope it gets better for you!
  11. So funny! I too have some older clothingi n smaller sizes. I refused to toss it out- my husband tells me I'll look ridiculous if I wore any of that clothing- to enjoy newer fashion and let go of the old.

    Post op

I too was cold- and definitely not as warm natured as I was pre- surgery, but I'm almost 7 weeks out and not freezing anymore.
  13. FinallySandy

    Not enjoying food:(

Where do you buy these? Any favorite flavor? Or are they flavor less? I'm eating between 500-800 a day, but sometimes not getting in all my protein, and heard that in starvation mode, if I get my protein in, the better for the metabolism. If I'm only gonna have 700 cal- it needs to be good for me, no empty calories.
  14. Sleeved on Jan 27th. I truly feel a better me was born that day. Didn't have a dream recovery but that is a distant memory today. I love to cook so I cook lots of different things and make servings for the week or freeze. I track on my fitness pal. My new tummy does not like sugar. The biggest change for me is my relationship with food. We broke up and I have moved on. I seriously feed my body now. I'm am growing out of my clothes and can't wait for warmer weather and dresses. They are more flexible than jeans. I am down 37 lbs and share my story with anyone that asks. I want people to live this life. Oh except for the fact that I NEVER POOP! Sorry for the over share but u asked how I was feeling. Good job on the 37 lbs. I've only lost 32 and had surgery the day before you. I've inly lost about 3 lbs the past 21/2 weeks. You said sugar doesn't agree with you - I wish I could say that. This weekend I ate 2 mini Reece's eggs, and no issues. I will not eat anymore cause my little voice in my head is beating me up- I feel like a scolded dog- very disappointed in myself. Good idea to cook and freeze- I ate the same chicken for 6 meals, and think that is why I ate the chocolate cause I hadn't eaten anything else. Wish restaraunts sold food by the bite or in ounces!
  15. Had surgery Jan 28th, and down about 33 lbs. SW 251 CW 217. Struggling now because I have eaten stuff I shouldn't have and noticed I handled it just fine- I wish it would have made me sick! Seems like the last 3 weeks are really slow- nothing steady, and I find that frustrating. Haven't been brave enough to try on any smaller clothes, waiting for another 10 lbs before I go try anything on. Love my sleeve, but I really need to make changes with 1. Have to stay busy on weekends otherwise I want to graze, 2. Make myself take lunch to work during the week- but love getting out of the office and socializing with co- workers, but have found myself reaching for a couple of tortilla chips at Mexican restaurants, etc.. Really struggling making the right choices-and have had days over 900 calories. I eat when not truly hungry, or I eat, and be full but crave the same horrible things I did before. But am admitting my faults, and determined to get back on the right road ASAP. At least I'm not in denial- know my weaknesses and plan on getting back on the straight and narrow!
  16. I have Aetna, and was not approved. I asked about using my prescription CVSCaremark and they said they couldn't submit it thru my prescription plan . Off to SAMs tomorrow to stock up...BOOO!!!
  17. I'm between 6 & 7 weeks and can barely get down 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Not doing low carb like I should, but average 650-850 calories a day. Am stalled now, so really need to start exercising and watching carbs. I'm only down 32 lbs.

    Getting enough liquids in?

I struggle too! Go to bed feeling so thirsty, but cannot fit another drop in- hectic work day everyday- I forget and fall behind quickly. I am so going to do this starting Monday- great idea!
  19. Really good question...let's people see that we are all different. I was upset about "another stall" but then looking at it this way kinda lifted my spirits. HW 251 SW 245 Jan 28. (Surgery day) 245 Feb 4- week 1 240.5 (-6) Feb 11-week 2 231 (-10). Down (15 total) Feb 18- week 3 225.4 (-5.6). Down (20.6 total) Feb 25- week 4 232.2 (-6.8). Down (27.4 total) Mar 4-week 5 221.2. (-2) Down (29.4 total) Try to keep it low carb.. But not staying as low as I'd like. Average between 500 and 850 cal a day, though my Dr tells me not to count calories, it is easier for me to watch calories,'than go 95% carb free. Some people lose amazing amounts of weight, I'm jealous, but happy with my success. I haven't started any extra exercise yet- due to work hours. Good luck!!
  20. I too applied, but gave my medical insurance info., not my prescription plan info( Aetna/ CVS Caremark) when they called I mentioned I gave them my medical ins info- not prescription info- and she didn't really say anything, that it was wrong, or anything. They did call last week but I have not heard back.

THIS is how the first 4 weeks go...

Great read! Hit the nail on the head! (Except I've not been lucky enough to pack up my first set of clothes)
  22. You were wondering why you didn't see more people posting, post-surgery? Your post was quite entertaining- I don't think the average person has that entertainment factor, or skill, and it would be quite boring. Had your post been longer, I'd still be reading! Haha! ( loved the birds)! Congrats on your surgery, glad it went well! The first 3 weeks, especially the third week, is the hardest, in my opinion. I thought I'd never eat normal food again, felt like my best friend had left me. Five weeks later and 30 lbs down- an so very, very happy! Look forward to more of your posts!

Day of Surgery Picture: Did you look like this?

Super funny! I know that is how I felt!!
  24. I had the same thing happen to me. I felt great and was doing too much- I pulled something(ripped?) too. It hurt 10x worse than it did after surgery. It burned/ stung/ and felt like I really messed something up. After that it hurt for 3-4 days and started improving. After that I was super careful, bending over made it hurt, so I quit bending over for awhile. I hope it gets better soon- I know it hurts like hell. If it doesn't greatly improve in a couple of days- call your Dr. again, it shouldn't last more then a couple of days. Hope it gets better soon!!!!

How can I not loose weight.

I'm four weeks and 5 days out, and just got over a 17 day stall!! Weeks 3 and 4 I lost nothing and it was so difficult. I too worried about calories- vs. getting in protein and water. But I did get over the stall, and it is so difficult to stay positive thru them, but they are totally normal. Be happy you are at 6 weeks with a stall, not weeks 3 thru 4.
