What's the story behind your profile name?

  • Popular Post

I find a lot of names on here interesting and I'm sure there are good stories behind how everyone chose them. Anyone like to share? For me, Kindle is my horse's name and she was the "straw that broke the camel's back" in my decision to have VSG. I feel bad for her, having to lug my fat ass around the mountains and would love to be able to hop on her without having to find a rock or log to climb up on. (there's a dozen other reasons behind my decision, but my profile name is my tribute to her and how much more fun we will have next summer!)

Name is Sharon. Have always been a pretty laid back, easy going person, easy to get along with. Nothing extravagant or out of the world. I'm so at ease with the simple things in life, shelter, food water, clothes and family/love. Doesn't get any "simpler" than that ;) lol

My name is my first initial, last name, nickname, and birth year. My name is Kathi.

I initially started my journey in 2012 with getting the lapband and my name at the time was myjourney2012. Now almost 3 years later, I'm having my lapband removed for gastric bypass, hence this is my journey again.

My name is Cara but the hubby calls me Carebear (????) and I'm 42.

I'm an HR Manager... Hence dhrguru

this has always been my nickname - from the time i was a little girl - because i was always pulling practical jokes on my Aunts when i was younger they would call me a Devil - and since my real name is Dava Lynn and Devil Lynn sounds like that it just stuck - so that is what I have been called my whole life. Well that and Big BUtt Bertha...lmao!!!! (not said in a hateful way) When i was about 5 my uncle actually married a woman named Bertha - you can imagine what happened - I asked her - so... do they call you Big Butt Bertha too? hahahahahah!!! she was very high bread and she didn't laugh too much at that to say the least...but everyone else did!!! hahahah!!!! The Devil strikes again!

Mine is just my name

When I started using the internet years ago, I didn't want my real details online, even my first name and a friend suggested kate and I have stuck with that, where ever I have wandered on the world wide web. Funny really since I joined the 'July' group on facebook and the members can see my 'real life name' there.

On Bariatric Pal the nick Kate was taken so I added uk, as believe it or not I'm from the UK :P

Invictus means "unconquered". There is a poem by William Ernest Henly by the same title that has gotten me through some discouraging times.
