I could quote your entire post except it wasn't my mother, it was my grandmother. She was tiny. Constant criticism about me being too big and eating too much. Then when I was on a diet I was not eating enough. It was never the right thing! I was so frustrated. It's crazy now that I almost understand her.... After my own daughter started developing I have found myself saying things to her about watching her eating habits. I did this strictly out of love and concern, not wanting her to go through what I have my whole life. I caught myself one day and cried for a solid hour.... Sometimes those who Iove us and want to help us don't realize they can also hurt us with their "helpful" words. I would never call my baby a hurtful name. I truly don't think they realize how much it hurts. TELL HER.

Omgosh do NOT let him talk you out of it!!! My husband did 6 mos ago and now I'm 20 pounds heavier.... Wishing I would've just listened to my gut and done it then! Thankful I'm doing it now!

I'm not sure about most surgeons, but mine doesn't require a psych eval. Yes, I'm cash pay due to low BMI. As far as EGD, I had one several years ago - and the other test you mentioned aren't required for a patient my age, only pre op labs.

I don't have a surgery date either, but should be February too!! So excited!

My BMI is 31.8 - I'm self pay & have my consult today!!! I am so freaking excited I can't stand it!!!

I'm just depressed and pissed after my husband guilt talked me out of it!! I should have flown out today ???? I promised him I would try truly dieting and exercising for real ONE TIME (I have never done it in a healthy way)... Haven't lost a single pound even though I've been doing Zumba, elliptical, swimming etc. I am so discouraged. But so excited for all of you!!! I started weight watchers today. I hate weight watchers but my scale hasn't moved with low carb. I don't think my body can handle that many cals

Premier is my favorite, except the chocolate which I literally can't choke down. The unjury was okay, but premier is better. I have some unflavored protein powder from genepro that's highly recommended here, haven't tried that yet.

If you feel lightheaded when standing, you may be a bit dehydrated. That's a sign. Another quick way to tell is taking your pulse lying and standing. Generally, if you're dehydrated, there will be about a 20 point difference (your heart rate will speed up) ... And it's usually pretty fast. As far as the pain, I haven't been sleeved, so I don't have a clue! I hope someone has some answers for you and I hope you're feeling better soon.

My surgery is 9 days away. I am freaking out! I have so many anxieties and worries... Will I fail? Will I have complications? Will I be kidnapped in Mexico and sold as a sex slave? Jk... Kinda ???? I am a low BMI (just over 30)... I worry I won't lose the weight. I worry my reflux will be worse. I worry that I'm being selfish for spending so much money on an "elective" procedure. I really love food. I love trying new food when hubby & I travel... I love sweets... I mean duh. This is how I got here! I just feel super girly emotional right now & wanna cry. My husband is being supportive but if I even mention not having the procedure to him he says he wouldn't. Of course he wouldnt, he doesn't struggle with his weight... I dunno. Guess I needed to vent. I am just worried about EVERYTHING. I should also add that he's going with me to Mexico, and I'm worried we may kill each other the first few days I'm without food, lol!!!

Bless your heart! I will freak out if that happens... I am glad they didn't proceed if it was risky, but yuck! My preop liver shrink diet is low carb, 3 Protein shakes a day. No alcohol. What's your starting weight if you don't mind me asking? Have you ever been diagnosed with a fatty liver?
