  1. Thanks! I'm an RN and didn't even think about that. It comes off when I brush, but it always comes back. I hope it's not because I just shared a popcicle with my 14 month old ????
  2. I was sleeved on Monday July 13th and so far so good, but I've notived that everything, including Water tastes different to me. I also have a weird taste in my mouth with a white coating on my tongue. Ibruch my teeth more often now than I even have and it's still there. Almost like a dry mouth. I'm getting about 34-42 oz of water in a day on top of my 20 oz of Protein supplement made with almond milk, soups, popcicles and Jello so I don't think it's dehydration. Is this normal, or is it something important to bring up at my post-op appointment on Monday?
  3. My surgery was yesterday and when my husband asked which was worse, this or labor, I said this. Contractions come and go and give you a break and the gas pain didn't. I didn't get a break from it until I got to the floor and I was given dilaudid, zofran, and, a mylicon chewable.

  7. I have found that crystal lite really helps the water go down so maybe try a flavored water
  8. They shouldn't. I'm an RN and work on a post-surgical floor. We've had a decent amount of women on their period after surgery. Of course their's is due to a cancer diagnosis so it may be different, but I don't see an issue. I'll be close to mine as well.
  9. They have a website bariatricfusion.com but there's also 3 places around me that sell it. Pine pharmacy is one of them and with my health insurance I had a $250 health benefits card. Pine pharmacy was included so I only paid for a portion of what I bought. I had used some of the money on the card to pay for my son's soccer program.
  10. 10 more days yay! What are you planning to drink for liquids? I am also nervous about the liquid phase. My surgery is on the 29th.I have to do 4 protein shakes a day that I'm mixing with unsweetened almond milk, sugar free clears (popsicles, jello) sugar free gum, fat free broths, 1/2 cup non strachy veggies a day for chewing. I plan to mix them with my broth to make "soup"Good luck with your surgery! That's a great idea. Are you hungry so far? What protein powder did you end up getting? I like the synthrax nectar fuzzy navel. I am looking for an unflavored one for soups or jello. Good luck with your surgery too. I may check back in w u post op to see how it went? (If that's ok). I have like no pain tolerance and am quite scared. I've had a c section before wonder if it hurts more, less, or the same with this?I am sort of hungry, but I think it's all mental at this point. It doesn't help that I'm at work and there's pizza and cupcakes in the breakroom (I'm an RN so we often get treats from patients).I'm using baraitric fusion, but I've never tried their unflavored one. Is bariatric fusion flavored? What do you mix it with? I am a nurse practitioner that works in a hospital and I notice there are a lot of food pushers around, be strong! Do you have to have surgery where u work? I do I bet that's gonna be sooooo awkward! I actually work in oncology so my surgery will be at another hospital fortunately. Bariatric fusion has a lot of different flavors. My favorites are chocolate, cappuccino, and strawberry. They have cinammon, orange creamsicle, chocolate mint and maybe another. I use either skim milk or unsweetened almond milk and blend that with the powder and icecubes to make a shake.

  14. Today starts my pre-op liquid/liver reduction diet. My surgery isJuly 13th so 10 more days! I just hope I can get through this liquid phase!
  15. I was just wondering how you all have/will transport your protein powder? My surgery is July 13th and I start my 10 day liver reduction diet on July 3rd. I will be doing 4 protein shakes a day, 1/2 cup of non startchy vegetables, sugar free clears, and fat free beef chicken or vegetable broth. I'm a nurse and work 13 hour shifts so on the days I work I'll need to bring everything with me, and my protein shake mix comes in a big tub. I found these http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/blenderbottle-reg-gostak-trade-starter-4pak/3254881?Keyword=blender+bottle , but I would want the all to be the same size. Any one have any ideas as a baggie seems wasteful to me. Thanks!
  16. I just scheduled my VGS for July 13th. I could have gotten it done in April, but I had work issues that I have sorted out. I'm nervous because I feel like I have so little time to get everything done! I'll have to do a 10 day liver reduction diet which I'm worried about feeling full enough on. We have a small trip planned right before I go bak to work so I'm excited about that as well, but not as excited for a Disney trip we haven't even planned yet. I'm happy about being able to enjoy it with my kids when the time comes!!

  18. My doctor checks h. Pylori blood levels if you've never had any issues. If that come back positive then he does an endo
  19. My surgery will hopefully be either the end of July or beginning of August. I was actually able to schedule for the end of April, but we have two girls out on maternity leave at work so my boss couldn't justify giving me the time off. I hope she doesn't give me any issues and have excuses when I go to schedule in July.
