6 days post-op, everything taste different, and white coating on tongue

I was sleeved on Monday July 13th and so far so good, but I've notived that everything, including Water tastes different to me. I also have a weird taste in my mouth with a white coating on my tongue. Ibruch my teeth more often now than I even have and it's still there. Almost like a dry mouth. I'm getting about 34-42 oz of water in a day on top of my 20 oz of Protein supplement made with almond milk, soups, popcicles and Jello so I don't think it's dehydration. Is this normal, or is it something important to bring up at my post-op appointment on Monday?

Definitely bring up the white tongue at your appointment. That sounds like thrush and you'll need medication to treat it.

Might be thrush, they often put you in antibiotics and this is a side effect!

Glad I read this. My surgery was July 7,2015,follow-up is Tuesday the 22. I have issues with how things taste also, checked out my tongue and it has white on it also.

Hope you are feeling better.

Thanks! I'm an RN and didn't even think about that. It comes off when I brush, but it always comes back. I hope it's not because I just shared a popcicle with my 14 month old ????
