  1. It doesn't seem so bad to be crazy as long as everyone else is crazy too, right? Hahahaaaa! ????
  2. That's exactly it! Fear of the unknown. I'm scared I will screw this up just like I have every diet I've ever been on.
  3. My surgery is 9 days away. I am freaking out! I have so many anxieties and worries... Will I fail? Will I have complications? Will I be kidnapped in Mexico and sold as a sex slave? Jk... Kinda ???? I am a low BMI (just over 30)... I worry I won't lose the weight. I worry my reflux will be worse. I worry that I'm being selfish for spending so much money on an "elective" procedure. I really love food. I love trying new food when hubby & I travel... I love sweets... I mean duh. This is how I got here! I just feel super girly emotional right now & wanna cry. My husband is being supportive but if I even mention not having the procedure to him he says he wouldn't. Of course he wouldnt, he doesn't struggle with his weight... I dunno. Guess I needed to vent. I am just worried about EVERYTHING. I should also add that he's going with me to Mexico, and I'm worried we may kill each other the first few days I'm without food, lol!!!
  4. RNsleever715 - I'm a RN, I'm being sleeved July 2015 ????
  5. I would listen to your body. Sounds like the soup worked for you. We are all different, no cookie cutter approach is going to work. As long as it's safe, do what's best for you without returning to old habits. Hope you feel better soon!
  6. I heard syntrax will give you free samples if you call them ????????
  7. Look at the sugar free like me blog. Tons of suggestions!
  8. I am so sorry you feel this way. No turning back now - make this work for you honey! You got this! You can do it! If you decide down the road you want the sleeve, there's no stopping you - but I'm betting you're gonna rock that band!!!
  9. By the way - from my understanding (disclaimer I'm a RN not a nutritionist so I certainly don't claim to be an expert), protein has a minimal effect on glucose levels as long as you have adequate insulin levels. I think the process you're reading about/referring to (when you say protein is changed to glucose) is gluconeogenesis, which is a pretty slow process. Your body will not react to a high protein shake in the same manner it would if you added syrup to it. Just tossing that out there ????
  10. Actually, when the body doesn't have enough carbs to burn for energy, it turns to fat and burns that instead. That's ketosis.
  11. PS I had my drains removed after 2 weeks.... Omg. I wouldn't calling it "pulling" the drains out. More like RIPPING. I developed adhesions to the tubes as well. Kill me now lol
  12. Umm just saying, I went back to work in 6 days, drain tubes and all... And did the reduction/tummy tuck as an outpatient procedure. Coming from someone who handles pain well, I was taking the pain pills & Valium religiously. My mom was even shocked! I wound up overdoing it (that's how I roll) and had the doc on my case because I was retaining fluid etc. He said he did "extensive muscle repair" so that might've been the reason for my severe pain/cramps. I am pleased with the results and would do it again!!!
  13. I'm July 28th, I'm in! I'll message you my name ????
  14. I paid $6500 for tummy tuck and breast reduction in Alabama. Tummy tuck FREAKIN HURTS! Lol!
  15. I asked a ST here at work, she says no carbonated drinks, chewing gum, sucking on candy, or using a straw. I'm guessing you're doing none of those... So her next response? Slow down. Lol!
  16. I'm private pay so I can't help... Hope someone else can!
  17. My husband was not comfortable with surgery in Mexico either, until I showed him the website, reviews, youtube videos, etc. I'm a RN and I feel very comfortable with the Obesity Control Center and Dr. Ortiz.
  18. Congrats! Wishing you a speedy recovery
  19. My surgery 2 weeks away from TODAY! I am scared too... I think it's normal. All change is scary! Best of luck to you!
  20. I'm worried about this myself. I was considering paying the extra $$ for a nonstop flight but it would be quite a bit, I'll be traveling from San Diego to Atlanta... the flight home will leave late one night and I don't arrive until the next morning, BLAH! I am just not loving this idea at all, but you guys seem to have done well with it...
  21. If the Prilosec helped I would continue taking that daily until you see the surgeon. I have reflux and this happens to me all the time - but I'm not sleeved yet ????
  22. Good luck on your surgery! I'm a low BMI also, chose the sleeve ????
