Has anyone taken topamax after surgery?
I took Topamax for weight loss and it gave me severe stomach cramps. I had to go to the emergency room it got so bad. I was told it couldn't have been Topamax that caused it. They gave me anti-cramping meds and I didn't feel right for weeks. I stopped the Topamax for a few weeks. I started them back again and the day after the cramps came again. Stopped the meds and started one more time a few weeks later...cramps again. Clearly it was the Topamax! That stuff was the devil for me. I have two other friends that took it and lost lots of weight only to get kidney stones... Clarification...I had taken all this BEFORE I had surgery...

I had Dr. Tanner. I was very pleased. The scope isn't too bad. No worries. What doctor are you going with?

How about some NSVs!?!?
I LOVE buying clothes now! I used to hate it, get depressed and be miserable. I'm trying so hard to wait on buying a lot since I still have more to lose. Down 50 pounds now!!! wahoo!

My doctor said NO to surgery!
Find a different doctor. I have lost 50 pounds since June 3rd and I only needed to lose 100 as well. I had gastric bypass and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My only regret is not doing it sooner!

"I don't know why you need surgery, you're not that big."
Same thing happened to me when I was jumping through hoops for my lap-band. The "ladies" at the support group meeting that I was required to attend decided to tell me that they didn't think I needed surgery, since I was "so small." Yeah, no. I had a BMI of 39-40 at the time. EXACTLY! My BMI was 40. My surgeon didn't argue the case so why would they?

Nauseous in the middle of the night
My last meal was at 5:30 and I didn't eat anything after that. That's what I thought was kinda weird. I wasn't feeling weird or anything either. Maybe it was just a random thing. It hasn't happened again but I will call the doc if it does.

Nauseous in the middle of the night
Hello! My gastric bypass was exactly 2 months ago on June 3rd. I have been doing well, sticking to my diet and taking my vitamins. Last night (morning) about 2am I woke up feeling like I was seconds away from throwing up. This has never happened to me before so I was curious if anyone else has had this happen. I have almost thrown up twice due to eating too fast but have managed to keep everything down so far. I ate dinner around 5:30ish with nothing after that so why 2am would this happen?

Still weigh more than surgery day!
Measure, measure, measure. You really need to stick to about 1/4 cup right now. I am almost 8 weeks out and still only eat 1/4 cup of yogurt every morning.

No Wonder I Wasn’t Skinny!
My mom cooked often and we rarely ate out. She tried to cook healthy foods but I was a pretty picky eater. I wouldn't try new foods at all and wanted to stick to things I knew I liked. My one thing I wish my parents did different was have me drink water instead of sodas. I loved sodas! I wasn't really heavy until after high school and then I ate and drank whatever I wanted. My kids aren't allowed sodas except for special occasions. They are allowed water and milk. More often than not they will now chose water over soda! Yay!

It does makes SUCH a difference! I can tell my body is changing just in the little thing. When I walk my arms and hips don't collide like they used to! It's really nice!- Looking for June (8) surgery buddies
I am one month out from surgery and have lost 22.8 pounds. I feel wonderful and am looking forward to the rest of it coming off. I started at 234. I'm assuming I'm a slow loser since I see people dropping way more than that at one month out but I will be thrilled with every pound I lose! Anyone else a slow loser?- Looking for June (8) surgery buddies
