In goodwill u can also find clothes with their tag still on them so they are new and no one has used them. I like your tailor idea specially for jeans. Target if you have one around put good clearance racks' date=' some even for like a dollar something.[/quote']

I didn't know that goodwill had stuff like that ! I may have to give it a try.

I have sizes from my last failed diet... Currently in size 24 3x-- have clothes to fit me down to size 16 1x... This last regain of my weight I told my husband I'm not giving one thing away! Now I'm going to pack up all my big clothes as they become too big and donate them to charity. I know how it feels to be big and not be able to afford clothes... I'm gonna pay it forward. :) also I'm gonna fill in the gaps in my wardrobe with goodwill and thrift shop clothes until I get to goal. Not buying new clothes I'm only gonna wear for a short time....

The only thing I'm gonna have to buy is new bra's!! That is exciting because I have been buying the "box bras" as I call them for some time because my bra size is 48 or 50 C cup. Not a typo... C -cup. I have one B and one C.. So yea picture that.... Sorry.. Tmi!

LOL, 50C here too... and they're not even a full C.. they're an old lady deflated C already and I've only lost 60 pounds from my highest weight. I shudder to think what they will look like when I'm at goal. Yeah, I'm totally getting those things lifted and stuffed!

Well, you can wear the same size clothing while you are in 2-3 sizes yourself. I lost tons of weight on medifast....went from size 24 to 12 in 5 months. I bought only 2 pairs of pants at a time since I was in them for less than a month. Wore knit shirts. So medifast is great to get the weight off, and here I again again. Hoping the sleeve will help get it off for good!

Re: caffeine headache...

I plan on withdrawing from caffeine in the 4 days before the preop diet and when I can have NSAIDs anymore. I can't do it without my Motrin!

Just starting day 3 of my pre op diet. So far so good. For those of you that are allowed a Lean and Green meal, I need some ideas. What is everybody eating? My doctors office didn't give me any rules for these meals!!!!! So far I have been eating chicken breasts and salads....

Hey ! I am scheduled for the 22nd. I am so nervous that I will fail because I have been addicted to food for so long. I am excited also because I am ready for the change. How do I prepare myself mentally and emotionally for this surgery?

futuresleever: I've been told to start taking Vitamins and Biotin NOW so I plan on going in the next day or so go get some of that to start taking. If you've never had Protein Shakes before or if you can be picky, a lot of people go ahead and start trying out different Protein powders to see which ones they like before hand. I can eat/drink pretty much anything and the shakes don't bother me at all even if they're not the greatest. so I'm not really worried about that too much.

pacificpeach: how about fish? You can eat as much fish as you want (as long as it's baked or broiled). Ground turkey for meatloaf or burger patties (no bun). Egg white omelette (can do plain, or with a little cheese, or veggies!). Protein shakes of course work well for meals on the go or quick lunch. You can do protein smoothies (greek yogurt, fresh fruit, spinach, Protein Powder, splash of soy milk, ice cubes (i like to also add chia seeds and flaxseed): blend very well), chicken fajitas without the tortilla (the fajita chicken with peppers and onions). Just a few ideas. I did south beach diet for a LOOOONG time and its basically this type of pre op diet.

I'm allowed to have I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray, so I use that on brocolli, green Beans, Brussels sprouts, aparagus, etc. I'm lucky that I LOVE veggies. I'm not allowed Salad Dressing, so I made one that my friend that went through the surgery made up - balsalmic vinegar, a little Water, some garlic powder, pepper and non sugar sweetener. It's actually good! I got McDonalds Ranch Bacon grilled chicken salad the other day bc my family was having fast food, took everything off except the chicken and greens and put the dressing on it. YUM!

Peacockmama...Thanks so much for your ideas!! I do cook quite a bit, but my brain seem's to have blocked out anything healthy!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
